Will any Canadian channel other than MTV show the Xbox 360 special on May 12th? I don't have access to MTV since it's a "premium" channel and I was wondering if something like MuchMusic would show the special, or any other channel?

Does anyone know?

I'll be using a non-live, non-televised, digitally reproduced solution to watch this special after it airs.
The play-by-play here on GAF should be plenty, though.

Yeah it's obvious that torrents and whatnot will popup soon after it's aired. But there's a part of me that wants to see this thing as it happens, not a few hours after.

Um, we've had MTV up here for a while (MTV Canada), so you may just want to upgrade your cable, I know for a fact that Shaw offers that channel.

He said it was a "premium" channel, which means it costs extra. So in otherwords, "I don't want to pay for the channel, but I want to watch the show."

I suspect Bittorent will be the solution here.

It's an extra $1.99 a month per channel, or you can pay $20 and get all 30 semi-premium channels (BBC Canada, Showcase Action/Diva, etc). The only really expensive channels are the porno channels, and the alternative language channels.

LOL pay for a month's service when you only want 0.0001% of the content. Its also not that simple you have to go through the hassle of going to digital cable system and installing all this stuff for one tv show exclusive. If you want/have digital cable thats fine, but for us analog losers, the torrent will do.

That's all AFTER you get digital cable, which includes buying or leasing the $200 box. It's not just $1.99 unless you already have digital.

I checked MuchMusic's schedule last week, and they don't appear to be showing it. No big deal to me...as others have said I'm sure it'll be all over the torrent world within hours.

MuchMusic's french counterpart, MusiquePlus, will show the special .
Probably gonna be live.

I might pay the 2 bucks for it, just for one month. The same applies to E3...I think I'll get G4 for one month only.

MusiquePlus is probably getting it since MS wants some Quebec exposure. It probably will not be shown on MuchMusic though.

I'd like to get the torrent of it, of course, but I also want to see this all live.
