Amazing Spider-Man VGA Trailer

What the fuck? What the hell is New York dealing with that they need that giant ass robot? You'd think there would something just as large or powerful would be defending New York if that giant robot Oscorp robot was necessary. Stupid premise, even for a comic game.

The sad thing is, that whole giant robot fight in trailer may just be a tame 4 button QTE in the final game :/

I dunno. It looks like Spider-Man actually has to manuver around and stuff. I guess that could just be auto-play. Hard to tell with the trailer. Spidey ripping out the energy source will probably be a "mash button" part though.

They need to show a gameplay trailer of Spider-Man just purely swinging around the city. And not chopped up and shot at angles or anything. Something like this SSX trailer. That would probably make or break things for me.

Not crazy about more robots.

But I'm a complete sucker for the whole Newscast of Spiderman fighting crazy odds alone. Just fits. It would be amazing if it was Ben instead of Pete, but Marvel would never allow that.

More fucking robots? Fuck that. Let Spider-Man beat up thugs and robbers with the occasional super villian, not endless parades of identical robots.

Spider-Man 2 has you fighting a lot of robots too. Just saying.

These movies games are always problematic because, well, they're tied to the movies. They try to avoid dipping into the rogues gallery, so you get generic enemies, and robots happen to be super generic.

Still see crappy, jerky animations similar to the last two Spider-Man games. God forbid Spider-Man actually look smooth. Robots. I'm pretty sure Spider-Man fought robots for the vast majority of the last game. Even the Captain America game was better than this looks.

I've come to a zen-like state to accept that Spider-Man will never have a great game. Thanks Neversoft, but Beenox is going to keep screwing it up.

Annual release schedule is a bitch that kills IPs. Ask Tony Hawk, or the Guitar Hero...

Spiderman on ps1 is the only great spidey game.

I also had fun with the story segments in Ultimate but the open world stuff sucked horribly.

Shattered Dimensions Had good levels and bad levels but overall I had fun with it. Was nice to see a level based game even if it wasn't mind blowing in design.

I had no idea Edge of Time actually came out. Now i see that it sucked. :(

Looks pretty average, but I would totally dig an intense cutscene of him dodging that hail of missiles and bullets.

Not enough people get to see just how agile he can be.

That giant robot looks almost identical to the Reaper Shepard is running towards in the new Mass Effect 3 footage, which IIRC looks almost identical to something from Resistance. Four legs and a big squid head: video games.

That whole trailer looks like it'll just be a huge QTE fight in the game. I wonder if anyone will ever make a Spider-Man 2 HD remake, or whether that'd be weird because it was a tie-in for a seven-year-old movie.

I was all about this and theeeennnn.....robots. Generic ass robots are rarely fun to fight. It's Spider-Man! Give me thugs and supervillains to beat on. I really hope there's more to it then that. I can't get excited about fighting generic robots in a Spider-Man game for 10 hours.

I can't believe they're not doing the Spider Island storyline in the style of Arkham City. The trailer for this game makes it seem like the most boring Spidey game yet.

As a fan of Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time this game looks exactly how I feared it would. An ugly looking movie tie in game. New York looks bland and generic with the great art style of the past two games gone.

The robots are just the main threat, most likely chosen so they didn't use any big villains before the movies did. They won't be the only enemies to fight. Previous open world Spider-Man games have always had thug or lower supervillain missions.

I really hope Activision either gives the ip to a good developer or drops it and allow Marvel/Disney to shop it out to a good developer.
