Multiple years. Free for the first one then 40 after up to 4 years or graduation I believe.
Actually, unless I did something wrong upon sign up, its free for the first 6 months, then pony up the $40.

It's Prime second class, Kindle lending library is disabled for example
Makes sense. I am sure people were exploiting this and costed them money. I honestly don't blame them for doing this.
*inner rage*
So is Prime family sharing.

For shame, wanting to get paid for providing a service to customers. A damn good one at that. Prime is awesome.F U AMAZON!
So 5 People have access to Amazon Prime for $80? Even when they're scattered across the country?
The 5 actually had to be family family with same address according to their term. But I never heard of them actually enforce it.
Well I don't think they have to have the same address. Technically they're supposed to be family though.
If you sign up for a free trial or paid Prime membership, you may invite up to four eligible household members (living at the same address) to enjoy the shipping benefits of your free trial or paid Prime membership at no extra cost (invitees).
On the contrary, technically they're supposed to have the same address but it doesn't matter if they're family.
Not enforced at all though, and it would be difficult since they let you ship wherever you want
My ID has no expiration date.
Wonder if they'd take it.
Got an email today saying my membership was expiring and I had to pay full price for prime unless I sent one of the below:
1. Transcript
2. Acceptance letter with matriculation date
3. Student ID with expiration date
I sent a copy of my transcript from the last 2 semester. This is just a heads up for people who have amazon prime student accounts. An edu account will no longer fly.
Edit:
Amazon Student is 39.99 as opposed to 79.99

lol an acceptance letter? seriously?
I canceled and signed back up again at $39 without providing any proof the other day. It wiped out my shared prime list though
(normally when you go from regular prime to student you can keep the list)
The list was probably gone when you canceled not when you signed up. Because canceling took you to no prime, which wipes the list.
I've paid for it for ~4 years now. Their recent "add-on" items really annoys me. I feel like I keep more things in my cart now to group ship than I did before.
