These are kind of neat

Lots of accessories popping up.

Getting it for $32 after tax from Best Buy's GCU/Visa Checkout.

Whoa I forgot all about the Visa Checkout. Just pre ordered BOTW, Bomberman and two BOTW for Launch. Plus I had a 10 off Pin that dropped the total price to 88. Not complaining.

Thanks for the idea.

I wasn't in hell gonna risk this with the Switch but I changed some payment info for some of my accessories and Sonic Mania SE and my date estimate went to TBD. WTF is going on with this? Always happens with "pre-ordered out" items. Im a Prime member so calling up and nagging them may fix it but I don't want to bother if it means nothing. My Tales of Besria ordet has been sitting on TBD up until yesterday but updated to release date.

Modifying your order has a chance of resetting your shipping priority in the queue. In some extreme cases, it can even cause it to be cancelled. In the future, avoid changes unless necessary. You can contact support to do them for you and to confirm if it'll affect the order's status.

Would it immediately cancel my order? Or would I find out towards release?

Here's some previews of 1, 2, Switch:

It's largely an audio game since it intends for you to face your opponent and not a screen.

I think it would be more fair to say it is a mix of motion based mini games that use visual, haptic feedback and audio cues. Like that top screenshot of the eating mini game, it is single player, and the only reason he isn't facing the TV is so he can look at the camera for the video stream.

I wouldn't worry about preordered games or accessories, but sold out items might be subject to a cancellation as orders are processed for shipping come release.

It's not a sure thing, but it has happened before with Amazon.

Yeah, I clarified it a bit more in another post. It's not just audio games. Some are visual, some are feedback based, some are reactionary.

Is anyone buying 1-2 Switch at launch? Can't bring myself to spend $50 on it.

Yeah I'm going to grab it for my multiplayer fix with the Switch. I also have a feeling that this game won't drop in price for a long time like most Nintendo first party games so I'd rather just grab it at launch

I didn't want to make another thread and this seems an appropriate topic but have the new Zelda Amiibos been up for sale yet? I wouldn't mind picking up that new FE dual set either. I'm just assuming they already went up and sold out but I was hoping they would do another timeframe sale on them like they did for previous Amiibo.

Silly question. Do straps work on both L/R joy cons?
I think it's just one type that's marked with a + on one side and a - on the other, but I'm not sure.

The Zelda amiibo were up for a pretty short time on Amazon.

The new Zelda Amiibos went up and very quickly sold out on Amazon. You can find them readily available on the online stores of Walmart, Best Buy, and GameStop as far as I know.

I wouldn't count on a restock with Amazon, but you never know.

Happened to me as well. My neon was cancelled at Target. I was able to get a $30 gift card for my trouble without too much effort over chat on their website. Worth a shot. Sorry man. Glad you have a backup.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try to contact them.

That sucks. How long did they hold their pre-orders open? I seem to recall them having theirs open a lot longer than others. Perhaps they left it open too long, and now they're correcting that?

Definitely makes me nervous about not having a back-up preorder (Mine is with BB), but I got in right at the jump, so I'm hoping I'm alright.

Shit. What were the reasons they gave for cancelling? I've got a Neon order in at Target with a pretty hefty discount, so I'm now a bit worried that it'll get cancelled.

Apparently it was a "payment related issue". Problem is that they never contacted me to try to correct the issue, they just went ahead and cancelled the order. Which a real dick move because this is a pre-order for a sold-out item.

This was my first order on Target and I used the same credit card I always use on Amazon. Anyway, not a good first impression for Target.

I'm sorry that happened to you. This is actually a somewhat known issue with target when it comes to pre-orders. Their system is AWFUL. Basically what they do is this:

- You make the pre-order and they do an authorization charge (normal)
- Then they continue making authorization charges seemingly at random and constantly until the item actually ships (this is the not normal part and also a huge problem)

It's a huge problem because credit card companies will see these repeated authorizations as fishy sometimes and will decline the charge. If this happens ONCE, and it is very likely to happen since your credit card company is trying to prevent fraud, then Target will cancel your order without question.

It really really really sucks and is a super shitty system. Don't ever pre-order at Target unfortunately. :(

I'm not going to be able to get one of these, am I...

As a preorder? Eh... big maybe in the US market. You'll probably have a much easier time importing one via a forwarding service or even straight up.

I do expect a steady amount available the coming weeks after launch though.

Lol these GIFS alone have cost them a potential sale on 1, 2 switch.

And those are the more entertaining ones. I'm not going to rag on 1, 2, Switch too much, but it definitely will be extremely polarizing with audience appeal.

Amazon too?
Amazon doesn't support Shoprunner. Basically, you'll get free two-day shipping at any online store that supports Shoprunner like Newegg and etc.

Nah. Games like this would be a lot more fun at parties than counting ice cubes or whatever lol

1, 2, Switch is a party game... or rather, a game clearly meant to be played in a social setting. The issue with it bring advertised as a party game is the fact that the mini-games shown so far aren't exactly the most friendly to an actual party setting. Games that rely on audio cues will be muffled out by your typical party setting with music unless you kill the mood to see one or two people acting like idiots. It'll be hilarious at first, but then you just move on to the next wacky game and so on. Easy Allies/Kyle Bosman said it best: It's going to be a game where Nintendo gets to be naughty without being overt with it. People are going to think dirty thoughts, laugh, and then just drop it.

You'll see 1, 2, Switch at first at a lot of gatherings and what-have-you due to the novelty, but I'll be absolutely amazed if it's a thing a year from now let alone six months. It's not a Wii Sports, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, or Just Dance sort of phenomenon.

I'm seeing this now with my gray Switch preorder from Target. I get e-mail alerts when a charge is made over a certain amount and got one immediately after preordering the morning of the 13th and one today. Worse is that I just saw that I forgot to update my phone number on my billing info. If I remember correctly it only showed my address when I was making the order so it looked fine, but once I looked at the order details after getting the second e-mail I saw the old phone number. There doesn't seem to be any way to change it after the fact. The authorizations are still going through but I don't know if my card company is going to go for a new authorization every week until March.

Yeah I'm getting it for my kids. They're almost 4 and wouldn't stop giggling at the few videos I showed them. $37 with tax at BestBuy with the gamer club and visa checkout deal so not too bad.
I tried to get the $30 gift card and they yelled at me. How did you accomplish that?

Thank the lord
Iwata

Well, those sort of things are generally by happenstance rather than something you mention directly to them.

You could try contacting them voicing your frustration and maybe one of the agents takes pity and offers a gift card of X amount to you. It'll also depend heavily on how many people took advantage of the generosity after hearing about it.

So, applying a gift card to my Amazon order should not have any negative impact on the order, correct?

I paid off my launch PS4 with that method and everything arrived smoothly on launch day.

Bleh, Amazon Japan doesn't ship the Nintendo Switch straight up internationally. Might look into a forwarding service, but it'll depend on the fees attached.

You're fine applying gift cards to the order. It's actually the recommended method if you have to change payment options.

I lost my preorder by applying a gift card to it after preordering the second they went live.

DO NOT UPDATE ANYTHING ON YOUR SWITCH PREORDER!!

Ninten'doh!!

If the system works the way it should then it should be fine. There are a few stories of people doing it by themselves and those orders getting cancelled. I did it a couple of days ago by chatting with an amazon rep, and it took like ten minutes. Maybe lengthier, but definitely safer. The choice is yours though.

Shoot. Don't know if I want to risk it.

Learned this the hard way with my NES, luckily I was able to snag a Gamestop pre-order for that.

Hopefully they open more later on.
