AMAZON US Switch up

Came in here to ask about that, also got app notification but checking my order it seemed fine. Not sure what's going on.

I get this notification every now and then. For example, I was looking at the Dr. Strange Blu-ray (which was not yet available for preorder when I got the notification) and they sent me a notification saying sorry it was out of stock/not available and it just recommends other products for you. So, essentially it's just Amazon going off of your view/browse history and recommending more products to you if some you viewed are no longer available.

Yeah I get these emails daily about stuff I saw going out of stuff or price dropping

We should start seeing second allotments of pre-orders/launch shipments, so they will likely open up a second wave of pre-orders.

I'm reasonably sure as soon as stock ran out it changed to "coming soon" which I assume was for this reason. They have "Sold-Out" and use it... so, I'm not sure what the deal could be other than they plan on opening up orders for additional stock oreorders or when stock following cancellations becomes available.

I dont know which case i want more

Ended up just ordering my controller from amazon japan. A little cheaper too.

The japanese version of puyo puyo tetris should display english, correct?

The Pro controller on Amazon Japan dropped down to ¥6,834 tonight, just a heads up. At the place order screen, it went down to ¥6,328, for a total of ¥7420 including tax. I'm ordering from the US.

Yeah i saw this. Only thing that sucks is making a new account and not having Prime on it :/

If the price drops like that after you place an order do they honor the new lower price like US amazon does?

I want a Switch case like the PDP Mario/Zelda onebjt without the ugly outside. I hate how the regular black one is different inside. I like the soft middle flap the other two have.

But when do you expect to have it in hand? I rather pay a couple of more dollars to have it at launch.

It's listed as arriving on Mar. 6-7th, that's fine with me. I'm probably going to get the Pro Controller before the Switch even arrives from Amazon US (free shipping).

I'm not sure, I think it might have had the usual price drop guarantee when I checked out, but I don't see it on my order. It might say that when right before you place the order.

ETA on shipment says March 6-7.

If Best Buy puts up preorders in the next few days I'll cancel this preorder and do the Visa Checkout thing..if not I'll stick with this Amazon Japan preorder. I think I can wait a few days, but not going to lie..if a pro controller is sitting there at launch when I go pick up my system, it will be tough to ignore, heh. At this point I just don't trust NOA that much and am worried I won't get the controller so I'm leaning heavily on keeping my import order..

I was curious if this would work for charging the Switch while in handheld mode or if it being quick charge might potentially fry my console....

...or if buying these two would be wiser...

I would suggest you to wait until people actually test and recommend power banks / chargers. Switch probably will need a USB PD compliant adapter and cable to be able to be charged at full speed, and based on the FCC documents the charger should be of at least 36 watts.

This is not the old micro USB charging, it's more complicated now. Switch uses a very specific 15v 2.4amp input and faulty cables/chargers may even damage the console.

Sound advice.

I suppose I should just buy the official Nintendo AC adapter anyway as it's only a few bucks more.

I agree OP should wait, but I'm fairly certain pretty much any modern electronic device has circuitry that will not allow it to become damaged by a faulty/out of spec charger.

PS4 controllers get fried if charged with fast charger if I'm not mistaken. And I've heard of other examples.

Pretty sure what's friend is the battery, not the controller. Battery can be replaced. The batteries should specifically have chemical fuses that blow when it gets an abnormally powerful current, sacrificing the battery but saving the controller itself.

But yah, arguing semantics here. OP should just wait it out.

Changing the payment option wont mess up my switch oreder will it?

YMMV, contact Amazon support before doing anything. I've never, ever had an issue changing payment methods for Amazon items, even limited run pre-orders that were sold out when I changed my payment method. The only time I had an issue was when a payment method I had selected was declined when the item was meant to ship.

Because USB C is still newish, there have been some cases where cheap cables and adapters haven't followed spec and have damaged devices.

A Google Engineer started a side gig testing and verifying cables. He straight up fried his Pixel testing a cable so it's absolutely possible.

Ah, I actually knew about this, but figured most faulty USB-C cable issues had been fixed justly because of Nathan's work. Pretty easy to stop his negative reviews when searching for cables on Amazon.
