We have a BST thread over at the Community Subforum with a very robust feedback system set up. If anyone is worried about getting scammed but want to help someone get their Switch instead of outright cancelling their order, they can always go there and sell it; that way you're helping a fellow GAFfer out in the safest way possible
Well that sounds fantastic! I haven't gone through that subforum yet but it's good to know we got a system in place.
Waterfield is working on a dedicated Switch pouch, I would just wait for that.

Wow, thank you all so much for the responses. I know to some it is super nit picky but those eco cases Nintendo has been using are really annoying because they damage the labels for games here in the US. I'm really hoping they are gone and if similar to PSP cases then that means they aren't using eco junk. Then again who knows. I've read in Europe and Japan they don't use them for Wii U titles. Just hope label horror stories can be crossed off my list when ordering games online.

I haven't been able to find any. I'm curious about the inside since the design seems solid so far despite the PDP tax.
The price leaves a lot to be desired though considering you can nab similar size backpacks for about $25-30. Nevermind the "Please Rob Me!" sign it gives off if you wear it in public.

I'd love a thread title change as this has kinda become the Switch discussion thread. People weren't happy with all the Switch threads so those of us who wanted to keep talking about it have stuck around here.

Hope I don't get that, only email I've received is an additional cash amount offer added to trade-ins of Nintendo products for having placed an online Switch order.
I did, but they already cancelled one earlier. I had 2 for this specific reason and now none. What are the chances gamestop gets them back in stock?
After they weren't cancelled for a while I fully committed and bought some discounted gamestop gift cards to save a bit of money. This was gonna be my first Nintendo console I got at launch. I spent a lot of time thinking about it and finally came to the decision I definitely wanted it despite not feeling great about their choices regarding online.
This just really sucks. I'm sure I can just get one later, but I was just kind of excited to get my first Nintendo console at launch.
Edit: The rep said there was a limit of 1 per customer, but there wasn't a quantity restriction per household/user before when I place my order. I was able to order more than one per order, but didn't as I wasn't looking to flip or anything. It was only after I completed the first order, then 5 minutes later I thought "maybe i'd like the neon one instead" and I was able to place another separate order on the same account. So their system just sucks tbh.

Well, a couple of guys a few posts up offered their Amazon preorders (at cost) to anyone here who is interested. I know that doesn't allow you to use your gamestop cards, but it will allow you to have it at launch (and maybe you can use the gamestop cards to buy games or accessories, or trade/sell them).
Hmm, I think I might actually be able to buy Kindle gift cards in-store with my gamestop gift cards. That would be great actually.
If anyone has a Gamestop pre-order they can offer at cost or maybe even slightly higher than, that would be even better. I will reach out to the people offering Amazon pre-orders.

I can't believe I'm seriously considering buying a Switch when the only game I'm interested in is Zelda... and there doesn't seem to be any others for me for quite a long time (not really into Mario Kart or Splatoon)... Will the eShop be ready at launch? Anyone know when Fast RMX might come out?

eShop seems to be ready at launch since there's digital games announced for March 3, 2017 alongside the other physical releases.
People are assuming Fast RMX will make launch due to that, but there's also the possibility online play isn't available at first? Pure speculation on that front, but wouldn't be the most shocking with Nintendo.

I'm assuming you can use any USB-C adapter and cable when it comes to the Nintendo Switch, so it's not too shocking seeing third-party products directed to people not in the know or savvy enough to figure they don't need connectors advertised for the Switch primarily.

I've read through conversations here on GAF regarding the necessity of having the charge cable match the power requirements of the device. I suppose you can use any USB C cable (although I've seen discussions by tech GAF that this is not the case with spreadsheets measuring multitudes of cable performances) but if you buy an outlet that is too weak it won't charge the device. Since this has Switch marketing on the packaging I'm assuming it matches the power draw, and seems economical even compared to buying generic cables an AC adapter.
Oh Geez that sucks, I'm sorry. I've been terrified of that happening to me. It would be the third time I've pre-ordered something through them, only to find out they didn't end up having it.
Well yeah, there's that. But once the system is out, people will figure out which cables/adapters work and what doesn't.
There's also the chance that there won't be an issue at all with your average run-of-the-mill cable/adapter.
A third-party selling this option for the Nintendo Switch all the while not being officially endorsed is a good sign that we won't see much restriction.

Figured stock would be rereleased. Not just for mine, but for any other cancellations in a specific timeframe.
While I have done trades and what not on GAF in the past, I really don't want to risk a big ticket deal like this. Nothing against people here, but just a general rule for bigger transactions that aren't backed by a guarantee of some sort.

As for not taking the risk, I totally get it. I don't think I would ever pass over a preorder for this sort of value to a perfect stranger without some benefit and/or guarantees. I'm not a saint, but I decided to sell my preorder on Amazon to a NeoGAF member in need for meager profit ($30) on top of my at-cost price tag.
I had him/her give me the deposit of $30 now and I'll be asking for the rest about two weeks before release. Naturally, I wouldn't have even considered that if it weren't for the fact that they have a decent amount of feedback on NeoGAF's B/S/T thread.

I managed to get a SE so no worries here but I did notice that typo in the listing for the regular edition.
I don't think the Amazon chat support is right. While it may be incorrectly listed under the Wii U category, I don't think Amazon would go out of their way to create two separate pages, both for the Wii U version.

The Switch itself was listed under Video Game > Consoles > Wii U for days. I wouldn't be too worried about the categorization when the game is listed as Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Switch.

It should just be an issue of how many amps the charger puts out. I think 1 amp is standard for cell phones, but 2.1 amps is standard for tablets. I'd think the Switch would be substantially similar to most tablets, so a 2.1 amp charger will hopefully work. You should also be able to use a 1 amp charger, it'll just charge slower.

I'd also like to thank those of you that offered to give me your pre orders, so I could get the Switch for my daughter's birthday. Now I just have to get her 1, 2, Switch and Arms. She talked about Zelda, but not sure she's ready for the complexity the series brings. But maybe that's great.
I have a 256GB micro SD card I got for free with my wife's S7 Edge purchase. I got a free Gear VR headset. We'll give my daughter the card to put in her Switch.
