What's happened here is that instead of Sony fans talking with the ebb and flow of the market and therefore going relatively unheard, the market has changed. What happens then is that the rationality in a fanboys 'voice' is changed: saying something against the grain (in the current case, Nintendo) gets you labelled a fanboy instead of rational. The fanboyism that a Sony fan exhibits hasn't changed at all, it's just been exposed due to it not following the flow of popular thought or fact.
I've noticed Gahiggidy and other popular "NTards" still spouting the same things they have for years, but now the market is reflecting what they say, so they are not deemed fanboys. It's really a fascinating psychology.
