yup, thats kinda the same reason i'm even contemplating this. It happens often for me and its beyond annoying to making me want to snap the phone in half at times... then it goes away and life is good.
Well, I was contemplating the mytouch 4g or waiting for news of what other phones are coming out. Still contemplating, don't think I want another Nexus honestly if this is it...

What? All of these phones have been very incremental in there approach for the latter part of this year. Even SE's phones, which I'm assuming will be formerly shown off at CES don't really seem that impressive spec wise, going by rumors.

I think all phones are going to be incremental at this point until battery tech improves.

And I think he may have been LOLing because this whole page has been about the follow-up to the Nexus One... no need to wait til CES, we're discussing it right now!

Looks like cheap glossy plastic. :/[/QUOTE]

Yeah. The Nexus One industrial and unique design is starting to look like a classic that shouldn't be change. :-/

Edit:

Some twitter buzz about Gingerbread OTA:

Yea, but it looks lame as hell, and probably is just a galaxy s phone.

most definitely is just a galaxy s phone which is why its hard to get overly excited about this with CES right around the corner. like i mentioned earlier though, you'll most likely see tegra 2 phones and the dual core qualcomm phones shown at CES. With the Orion news yesterday, that probably won't be ready for 1Q, but seems to be the killer chipset.

Yes, this is what I need to see. I want some kind of clue of what's going on with the psphone, psp2, and android 3.0 phones, because I just have a sneaking suspicion that anything I could purchase in the near future will leave me having serious tech lust in 6 months.

well thats never going to go away. The LTE Incredible HD sounds pretty awesome though, would love to see it

No trackball or LED notification? Fail. Nexus One is still king.

Could be like the droid and have a little led above the screen for notifications.

But yeah, i love my trackball too much for fixing mistakes while typing.

That phone looks fuglytastic.

Hardware reliability disregarded, I really don't love Samsung's phone designs. None of it particularly stands out against anything.

i have had an n1 for about a year and i dont think i have used the trackball once on purpose.

Man, that Nexus S is ugly and looks cheaply made. :/

I really liked the rumored look of the Nexus Two, I hope that phone goes into production.

I use it all the time, specially for editing text. Placing the cursor with my finger, on the touch screen, is not as elegant or easy on android as it was for me on the iPhone

incredibly useful for editing text. honestly, i don't know what i'd do without it

i'll have to try it, i usually just try 3 or 4 times to get where i want to with my finger, could probably save some time on editing if i used the ball

:lol I just got tire of pecking at the screen to get it in the right location. The track ball is very useful, and I was one of the first to dog it when the Nexus One was revealed, but now I don't think I could do without it. Unless Google surpasses how Apple handles the placing of the cursor with a touch screen.

So they're calling it Nexus 2 not Nexus S. At least according to this picture and is based on the i9020. Specs haven't come out yet, I suspect a modest refresh on Hummingbird

It says Nexus 2. Way too much plastic for me, sigh. Samsung wtf.

I understand the plastic may be a turn off to some, but a Galaxy S phone with Google software support will make it the best Android phone on the market.

Another leak: Best Buy internal document says the Nexus S is supposed to get a display at stores on November 14th.

That's a Sunday, which is odd, as they haven't even announced it yet. So, I imagine it won't actually happen.

All of this pretty much confirms the rumors of the phone being announced today (Nov 11th) along with Gingerbread. The hardware issue has thrown this off for everyone.

And now Nexus One owners are not getting Gingerbread until this whole debacle with the S is resolved, is my assumption.

The funny thing is I was on the phone with TMobile the other day and this magical day of November 14th is what the rep told me to wait for. Wouldn't tell me any more than that. I'm wondering if it has something to do with this?

Trackball on my N1 definitely gets use, selecting and editing text primarily, sometimes for taking pictures.

Shame to see a Nexus branded phone not acting as more of a pacesetter, like the first one. Although Gingerbread alone may be enough to establish, so we'll see.

I really don't mind the plastic on the Galaxy S phones. It keeps the whole package very light. It doesn't really feel like cheap brittle or fragile plastic to me.

Looks good to me. Wonder how it will actually feel though.
I've been waiting for more stock phones to come out. Have the Droid1 and am completely satisfied with it, but some of the newer hardware makes it seem a little dated.. then I get my hands on them and see all the bullshit loaded onto them.

yes, it definitely will be the best hardware available on the market, ugly or not.

I'm guessing since this is a hummingbird processor inside... it won't be HSPA+ compatible?

Meh on another samung galaxy S phone... common google you can do a lot better. Ink another deal with HTC or Moto.

i would actually assume it would be HSPA+ compatible, it would be a monster fail if it wasn't

and yes, it would be a very very safe bet that it is a hummingbird

*sigh*

Okay, so you're not feeling Samsung's Nexus S. We'd say that's a little premature, but still, we get it. We understand. How about this, then? Is this more to your liking? We've just been tipped with a few morsels on what should become Samsung's flagship Android device early next year -- February, to be specific, suggesting we could see an unveiling at MWC -- and it's looking promising. Different parts of the slide deck describe it as having either a 4.3- or 4.5-inch "sAMOLED2" display, presumably standing for "Super AMOLED 2" and implying that Sammy's made some advancements over the screens we've been seeing on the Galaxy S series this year. It'll naturally have Android Gingerbread and be equipped with an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p video capture, 14.4Mbps HSPA, Bluetooth 3.0, a 1.2GHz core of some sort, and 16GB of storage onboard. The deck describes it as having an "ultra sleek design," and judging from the side shot, we'd tend to agree. So who's holding out for this?
