Nokia has definitely taken shots at Samsung. Hell, HTC and Samsung even take shots at each other.

Nothing compared to the anti-Apple marketing Samsung has done. Everyone's shooting for the iPhone because it's the king and there is zero doubt that it will outsell every other smartphone this holiday season.

Whoa now.... Im not sure, but isn't 'Smartphone 2.0' just the tagline to one of Nokias advertisement campaigns? Thats what I thought at least. I'm not terribly sure he was being serious there guys. Lower the pitchforks.
 
So... here's what I've gathered from this thread so far...

Android = Senna
iOS = Schumacher
WP8 = Barichello

or

Android = Hamilton
iOS = Vettel
WP8 = Massa/Maldonado

Make of that what you will...

iOS works best as Schumacher in the second list as well.

Actually reverse Senna and Schumacher. Senna is the legend everyone talks about, while Schumacher has pretty much outdone him in everything and yet is still not really regarded in the same legendary status. Same with hamilton and Vettel. Hamilton came in with a big bang and then stopped improving, Vettel has came in quietly and swept everyone from their feet.
 
That analogy doesn't work, because Massa/Maldonado/Barrichello all suck. And since that was probably the intended implication, it's wrong.

Old Schumi or new Schumi? Results and potential are blood relatives but in some cases the vast distance between them makes it only possible for them to come together during the holidays.

I'd prefer WP to be someone like Sebastian Loeb in that scenario. Absolutely great, but the mainstream doesn't give a shit.

New Schumi. We all know Schumacher was, like, the best F1 driver ever, who's given the best results over an extended period. But looking at him now, even though he doesn't look like he's aged a day, he's not really that exciting any more and you know most of his fans are following him because of his Ferrari days.
 
Schumacher is Symbian, a driver who keeps going even though all the other drivers have changed and who won his last race six years ago.

I'll agree that iOS has aged really well. Doesn't look a day older than it did a half decade ago.

I'm saying they're clinging to times gone by.

Android is Alonso. Consistent improvement, adaptable, arguably the best on the track this year and most of the hate for him stems from what happened a long time ago. You can see he's changed now and if you give him a time to observe him you'll find it hard to hate the guy.

(WP is Perez: cool/fun/lovable; you can tell there's a lot of potential there but he needs a lucky break/good car)
 
iOS=Mario (The OG)
Android=Sackboy (Customize it any way you want, some custom levels slow down a lot)
WP=Sonic (Mario's speedy rival, recovering from a rough patch)

iOS = Obama
Android = Romney
WP = Speed Racer.

Metaphors are fun and I thought politics would be a nice non volatile thing we could in turn not argue about. Also, Speed Racer for kicks, because Windows Phone is smooth as hell.

I'm sorry but this thread is hilarious, just keeps giving and giving with the sheer amount of possible things to bicker over
 
i wanted to do a pop comparison but besides iphone i did not find something appropriate


iPhone: Black Eyed Peas (Once brilliant and new and became bigger and bigger. Now lacks innovation and is happy to please the masses)
 
Android: M4 - mainstream, highly-customizable
iOS: AK-47 - the OG, can't evolve its design
WP: HK-416 - the new upstart nobody knows about
BB: XM8 - lol
 
OT Question: How do you watch streaming videos on android now?

My default browser cant even after installing flash. Theres just a small lego box on the video box.
