Tried an earlier version of it, wasn't too impressed at the time, so I deleted. But I've downloaded it again now that it's got the AirSync functionality. So far I'm impressed with the updates they've made since I last checked in. It seems to fill the role as a less bloated iTunes for Android pretty well now. The Windows client doesn't huff wind like iTunes does and it's got all the basic functionality.rohlfinator said:DoubleTwist updated with a new wireless sync system:

I've been looking for a good way to sync podcasts from iTunes, so I gave it a download... any opinions on the DoubleTwist app in general?
Not really an app... but if you install the Android SDK you can take screen captures when your phone is connected to the computer, no root needed.Ken Masters said:is there an app that can screen capture on a NON ROOTED Droid Incredible?
You might not have the right USB driver. The SDK is kind of picky.Cindres said:I can't figure out the SDK Screen Grabber, am i connecting my phone as a disk drive or something else? It's not finding my phone in the SDK.
DoubleTwist is SO much better than it was last year. It was such a POS last year and completely hideous to look at.kaching said:Tried an earlier version of it, wasn't too impressed at the time, so I deleted. The AirSync feature seems a bit aggressive though - waking up the phone to check-in every few minutes. Not sure what that's about yet.
Have one, haven't rooted yet but I intend to. Going on vacation next week, so I didn't want to mess with it beforehand in case any issues arise, because I won't really have the resources while on the trip to fix any problems.milkham said:anyone here rooted a nook color yet? i picked one up today after hearing that its been rooted, haven't opened it yet because i'm not sure if i should keep it.
I don't know if it had the Radio station feature last time I tried it. I don't think so. That was a pleasant surprise as well. Video and Podcast support also seems much improved.Bboy AJ said:DoubleTwist is SO much better than it was last year. It was such a POS last year and completely hideous to look at.
The AirSync made me check it out again. Much, much better. I bought AirSync and it's taking forever to sync. Ah well, at least I don't have to deal with another wire.

Android Tapp said:You asked for it and they listened. Rovio Mobile annouced this morning that their best-selling game, Angry Birds, now also has a special-edition called Seasons that was released to the Android Market this morning! This special edition named Angry Birds Seasons is a separate download from the original Angry Birds edition. Seasons Greetings includes 25 daily surprises for Angry Birds fan to enjoy on their way to counting down till Christmas. This edition also includes the 45 Halloween-themed levels in a separate episode called Trick or Treat. Weve included links to download it from the Market above.
Secondly, Rovio did confirm that they are working on a payment option for gamers to pay and opt-out of the advertisement in the game. The new Angry Birds Seasons edition also includes advertisement throughout the game. No word as to when this would be available.
AndroidGuys said:Rather than dropping a simple app with basic features (unread counts, friends, sharing, liking, starring) into the Market, Google opted to add some nifty options to the app. Among the goodies are support for multiple accounts, sync preferences, search, and the ability subscribe and search from the handset. In typical Google fashion, they have added easter eggs harder to discover features to the app which include volume-key navigation, long pressing options for folders, and a send feature to share with other Android apps!

I just updated WinAmp this morning and it looks like it supports Wi-Fi syncing as well. I don't remember that being a feature before.

Any good guides to rooting and what to do afterwards?
womp said:I just rerooted my X and it took literally 2 min from tapping 'root' and rebooting into a rooted X via that app.
Zero issues. I see no reason how you could brick your phone.
Once done enjoy free rooted apps such as AdFree and Wireless Tether.
it makes ads disappear in apps and internet browsing. I would also recommend setcpu for saving battery. the main reason I rooted my evo was so it could last a full day on a charge and get rid of those annoying ads.hermit7 said:I did it as well. Was not difficult and took maybe 2 minutes as well.
I have been looking at installing some ROMs and stuff and the sources I am looking at keep mentioning deodexing, is there an easy way to do this ala z4root?
What is AdFree? Does it make ads disappear in apps?

Adfree does do that but it's looked down upon here as it's denying the app makers their main revenue source. You could always pay for an advert free version of an app...hermit7 said:I did it as well. Was not difficult and took maybe 2 minutes as well.

I'm sure it's looked down upon everywhere except for piracy communities, because that's basically what it is in every sense of the word.J Tourettes said:Adfree does do that but it's looked down upon here as it's denying the app makers their main revenue source. Not much can be seen but the black notification bar.
I can't tell what the phone they used for the video, but it seems like a Nexus One.
You could try WidgetLocker, separate app that allows lockscreen customization. Turn off winamps lockscreen function and then just put the winamp widget on the lockscreen with WidgetLocker instead.MisterAnderson said:New Winamp update added player lock controls, but it looks so shitty (album art gets all blurry in lock mode for some reason)... would there be any way to customize the look of Winamp (maybe to get just the widget on the lock screen) or do I have to get certain music players in order to do that? I like Winamp because it lets me "scrobble" with Last.FM, but I really would like to have some kind of customized lock screen with a music player there as well.
