Not only do I remember that he's a gaffer, but I really hope he's reading this.
The juvenile 'rants' that he goes on in character are embarrassing. Some people find it entertaining just like some people find Transformers entertaining...

PS2 owners probably bitched about Resident Evil 4 until Capcom caved and announced the port before the GC version released. It happens.
Anyways, the point is him calling the Bayonetta situation "unprecedented" is fucking absurd. If the game is getting moneyhatted, all that means is that the dev team is getting paid and the platform holder gets an exclusive.
What a waste of money apparently playstation sold 5 times as many Saturns in that period (in America) and Saturn got discontinued months after TR2's release anyway.

I'm not really a fan of the yelling angry gamer stuff, since it gives off a man child image, but it's popular. He's got some funny stuff up though.

In my memory the dude pretty much shits on most of the games in his review. He just happened to shit on KZSF and Infamous SS extremly hard in his current gen reviews.
Kinda amazed that he didn't totally destroy TR in his original review though...
This is how Microsoft has to compete due to its inferior hardware (permanent) and inferior first party studios (would take at least 4-5 years to catch up, barring a wholesale acquisition). Maybe if they made Xbox Gold free and dropped the console's price to $300, but neither of those things will happen.

I don't always like the "yelling rant" style he does, but I tend to agree with him 90% of the time with the topics he discusses. And hell, its a more entertaining video than watching some boring guy. The "anger" sometimes help drive the point home. Im subbed to his channel but don't watch everything.

Especially when he's the one with hundreds of thousands of views. Like it or not, guys, his getting incensed and making a video about a pertinent issue may be as important as all the NeoGAF threads on it when it comes to spreading the word. NeoGAF is a pretty widely regarded forum, but his non-overlapping audience merely adds to NeoGAF's strength here. Why whine about that?

I might not agree on Joe´s behaviour in these videos he make, but I do agree that it´s a scummy move by CD and everyone involved. Stealing such a long time franchise and making it exclusive.
Thankfully its a timed exclusive, so PS4 people will get to experience it in the end any way, but still a bad move and stuff like this needs to go away, its ruining gaming!

hopefully they're putting that money towards developing the game, which will still benefit everyone when the timed exclusivity is up.
pc/ps4 will get a better looking game on better hardware, it'll be the goty whatever edition with dlc, and probably cheaper too. Just have to wait a little longer, big deal.

I'll disagree, but truth be told I only watched one of his reviews.
Completely missed the point of the game he was reviewing focused on gameplay, and nothing else. Mentioned story, but didn't focus on it and switch back to the gameplay.
It's clear he didn't like the game, but at least good reviewers talk about the story in games they don't like.

This is the guys gimmick to get viewers but it's ridiculous. Making video games isn't easy and making money on them for a long period of time is really hard. Just look at all of the game companies that shut down every year. I'm not going to blame a company for securing financial responsibility to its employees. This guy needs to get a real job and understand how the world works. Just because they made money on the first doesn't mean these guys will have a job in 5 years.

I like boogie2988's video on the matter better though. Mirrors my feelings on exclusive content perfectly.

The fact is AJ, Jim and TB give you raw material. They are not wearing suits and they are not walking suits either. Think you can do better? Grow some balls, step up your game and put yourself out on the NET. Because whether you like it or not, when it comes to alternative/independent "journalism" that is what we have and that is what they can give. Being raw and being true. It maybe be the worse, because apparently again being straight forward and as genuine as possible; you know no PR make up, you know being yourself, is not good enough; it is better off having an Oxy (short for Oxford) boy giving you a lecture and not taking sides because the content is "entertaining" or because they are too trained in diplomacy (which most of it is public relations talking) to think otherwise. But the thing is you don't have to be a philosopher or an academic to call out bullshit. In this year we have enough shit on our plate already; game trailers with no gameplay ( what "game" are you "trailing"), early access, and so on and so forth, and now "time exclusive" is something to be bragged, praised, defended and accepted as something logical?
Either way, the only reason this is happening is simply because Microsoft put more money into it and money won. It is really simple. In fact it is child's logic. That does not mean that as a gamer who supported a game or a franchise you should never criticize it because everything to you must seem as another "it is either this or we are going to close" scenario.
If this was the case, if it was that they wouldn't have made it time exclusive. It would have been exclusive from start. I will stop because I really do not want to draw you a picture.
Apparently he did, because, in the video, he does mention Bayo 2 being a Wii U exclusive and being pissed off about it (He shows a scene from a rant about it that he never uploaded) . He does however acknowledge (In this video) that without Nintendo funding it, it wouldn't exist in the first place.

The only folks who got screwed were the Saturn folks, and they were SOL already by that time. The PC and PS1 were both far healthier and larger markets.
This time, it was a clear sellout by SE. PC and Ps3/4 were major purchasers of the previous game, left out in the cold for quick MS cash. It would be like if TR2 had gone to Sega, leaving out the PC and ps1.

to be honest, KZ SF was a mixed bag and did deserve a bit of lashing. I dont think he reviewed Infamous SS. he may have done a lets play but not a proper review. he recenlty reviewed TLOU R and gave it a 10/10. I think hes extremely fair in his reviews. he aknowlged that DMC was not true to the franchise and understands the fan outcry, but did say it was a decent game and not the 1/10 some would have had you beleive.
Don't you know they are supposed to send their game to die vs uncharted 4 so people can feel better about their console purchase. Get with the program dude who cares if sales tank because it is over shadowed by uncharted 4 and they end the series.
Wow, very well said. I feel the exact same way. He articulated perfectly how many of us feel. Timed exclusives and exclusive content will never be system sellers, they're just nuisances on the gamer.

I loved his rant. I have no problem with console exclusives, except when the original game came out what...less than 2 years ago on EVERY console, and now the sequel is exclusive to the worst selling next gen console currently? Just stupid. Tomb Raider originated on playstation and should be on the newest ones.
