Animal Crossing: New Leaf |OT6| Not So New Leaf

Niraj

I shot people I like more for less.
Redd has a worthy painting and a basic painting today, if anyone needs those. I bought the worthy one so won't have it til tomorrow, but anyone can come over for the other if need be.

I bought a spare scenic painting too.

Is perfect town bugged or did they change the requirements? Been building Public Works every day for over a week and they still want more. Years ago I had Jacob's ladders growing and never needed this many projects. Like wtf.

I started a new town and built quite a few Public Works projects. One of them was a Drilling Rig and I still managed to grow a Jacob's ladder. So idk

Maturity, bitches.
I demolished most of my PWP and had no problem getting back to Perfect Town Status.

Then I dumped every item my alt has, in order to prepare for demolishing their house, on the ground and lost it lol

Niraj I am free pretty much the rest of the day. Anytime you want to open or I can open and you can swing by my town works for me.

Whichever you prefer, just let me know. I'm on Steam as well if you just want to message me there whenever.

Okay so I know this is a long shot but after talking to the man, Niraj, about this and what spawned my restarting of my town, I have to ask. Does anyone that has the regular Animal Crossing Amiibo cards have an extra Carmen card they do not want? She is my favorite villager (reminds me of my wife) and I need to have her back.

Wow Wendell in town. Great items. 2 sloppy items for 3 tickets each, yes please.

Also turnips 189

Just played island escape and its great!

If we ever get another update I hope we get a few more mini games. So good. Also want to be able to send letters to friends over WiFi. Also, want a better system for handling neighbors moving out.

416 bells for turnips.

Also my perfect town is definitely fucked. I guess I'm maxed on projects because my only options in the list are town hall renovations, but talking about town satisfaction the animals want more projects... Uhhhh

Does anyone have a snowmam. Screwed up 2 days in a row. Can I give snowflakes to a snowmam in another town? Also I guess I'm doing bingo after all :/

I think that means your balance of buildings to nature is off. Kill some trees and flowers until Isabelle gives you a different answer.

So it's a ratio thing of "if you have x tree/foliage you need y projects" and it's the ratio and not the amount.

Will try, thanks.

Does anyone have socks at kick's that aren't basic or official. It would be a huge help. Need it for the fashion check with gracie.

Please PM me, thanks.

What's the most Christmas-y song KK plays - ideally soundcheck-wise. Trying to get some music for my house to fit the time of year.

Oh neat! Although I already have the sunrise lamp and Kadomatsu. I think I might also have the Barbeque bed. If that's part of the that whole 7-Eleven set then I do. :p

Cool for everyone else who doesn't have it.

Aw yeah! Bought another 4 packs and got the 2 remaining frogs in the same pack, lol.

I could just quit while my goal is complete but... now I'm only 10 or so away from having all 50. Man, what I got myself into. D:

Damn, turnip prices are in the toilet in my town; 54 bells. Anyone have anything north of 90 (what I bought them at) bells today?

Anyone have a 3ds they can let me have? I had a family member ask me to bring the game with me on Christmas because they wanted to check out a puzzle game in it. I wasn't sure what they were talking about, so I said sure.

Sorry to hear. In the future, if you do hear somebody is moving, the easiest thing to do is save and quit. Start again, then immediately make for that villager. They will ping so long as they are that the first villager that makes eye contact with you.

One thing the update does is extend the amount of advanced warning a villager gives you. Not sure if it varies, but it's always been ten days for me so far as opposed to the normal five.

I have updated to the new version of the game now, I now have Chow wanting to leave, I had Filbert tell me that Chow was thinking of leaving, but this was after I started the game this morning, as you are outside your house, as it is Toy Day I went back inside and changed into the Santa outfit and then when I was outside watering flowers and looking for todays fossils, I bumped into Chow, and he said something like "you are up early Santa" so I went back and changed into my normal clothes, then when I met Filbert he told me about Chow wanting to leave, so I saved and quit and when I turned back on I want straight to where Chow was but he never pinged and nobody else had seen me, I have done this a few times now and he just looks in my direction! I did try this (save and quit and then go back up to them) the other week and it worked, but it doesn't now, would it be because it's Toy Day?

Since the update I have had many on about leaving, I even had Sylvia want to leave the other day and she was the last but one (had another move in since she did) to move in, my town is perfect, it seems that since the update I am getting a villager wanting to leave every third day!

Do I now get ten days to try and stop them? Chow is ok, I didn't like him at first, but the two most recent Sylvia and Becky I just cannot get on with for some reason, Becky moved in after Pashmina left, another I didn't get any warning about.

Yes, it's likely because of Toy Day. Many event days are like that. I'd try again tomorrow. You do have ten days now so you should be alright.

Finally got my physical copy of the welcome amiibo version. Kind of amazing how Nintendo can fuck up a release like this and delay it for four weeks without communicating that. The worst part is that it isn't even the latest version of the game.

I think I'm finally going to pick this up since I just got a new 3ds over Black Friday. Do different amiibos give different things or do they all give the same items?

So for someone who dumped countless hours into this and thought it was one of the best handheld games he's ever played, is the new update substantial enough to jump back in if I don't have a New 3DS and no Amiibo?

Is it worth upgrading to a New 3DS and grabbing a few Amiibo?

Yeah, it's worth jumping back in for even without that.
Campground
A new Campground has been built in town, and is located on the eastern or western cliffs of town (depending on town orientation) and is managed by Harvey. Every day an RV will appear in the campground, with a special character inside. A second RV will appear when a Welcome amiibo villager is scanned. Unique and hard to obtain items can be purchased from Harvey or the campers using MEOW Coupons.

Town Initiatives
Town Initiatives are daily objectives that can be completed to receive MEOW Coupons, which is the currency used in the Campground. A CAT Machine has been added outside of Town Hall, and allows the player to receive MEOW Coupons after completing initiatives. The initiatives range from simple tasks such as donating fish, and planting trees, to more involved objectives such as spending a large amount of bells on a single purchase. They can be viewed on the TPC screen of the menu, where the completion time will also be listed.

Home improvements
A new house expansion, a Secret Storeroom, can be purchased from Nook's Homes for 158,000 Bells. Accessed from the touch screen, it provides a vast amount of additional storage space that can hold up to 360 items. The storeroom's inventory is separate from the existing 180-capacity locker space, but can only be accessed while inside the player's house.

After purchasing the expansion, Tom Nook will introduce the player to Lottie. She will demonstrate how to arrange furniture using the touch screen, similarly to Happy Home Designer. After the tutorial is completed, the feature will be unlocked for use in the player's house, making it easier to arrange furniture and stack items.

In addition, clothes can now be displayed on the walls of a house, just as they can in Happy Home Designer.

Sell Town
When opting to rebuild a town, the player can now sell the town to Tom Nook for a large amount of bells that can be transferred to help create a new town. The player's catalogue can optionally be sold for additional funds, or transferred to the new town. The funds can either be received as a lump sum, or in small daily instalments with additional interest payments of 10%.

Selling a town is only possible if the town has a prestige level of 3. This can be determined by the growth stage of the Town Tree (50 days and 50 hours). Public Works Projects that have been requested by villagers in the old town will automatically be available to construct in the new town.

Minigames
The update includes two new minigames, Animal Crossing: Puzzle League and Desert Island Escape. These can be played by activating a Nintendo 3DS XL/New Nintendo 3DS XL or a Wii U piece of furniture, respectively. High scores at these games reward the player with exclusive furniture and clothing sets.

Gameplay changes
Interface
  • Screenshots can now be shared to Facebook and Twitter directly from a dedicated button on the touch screen.
  • The TPC menu has been divided into tabs. One tab displays Town Initiatives while the other displays the TPC.
  • The 'Friends in Town' button is now a darker green color.
  • The text box when loading and saving now has a light blue border, instead of cyan, and a dark blue background.
  • Fruit can now be stacked while in the storage interface.
  • The storage interface will remember the last viewed page for each tab instead of resetting to the first page.
  • The search function of the catalog machine has been improved with keyword support, and no longer requires exact search terms to find items.

Furniture
  • Many new Fortune Cookie items are available, including a Wii U and New Nintendo 3DS.
  • Floating balloon presents now contain items outside of the Balloon Series once the full series has been obtained.
  • In PAL versions, the Balloon-Dog Lamp has been renamed to the Balloon-Poodle Lamp.
  • Cushions now function as chairs, and can be placed on top of other chairs.
  • Stools now also function as tables.
  • Many new objects, including two-tile items, can now be placed on tables.
  • The Sprinkler and Lawn Mower can now be ordered from the catalog machine.
  • On the date of the town's anniversary, the player will receive a miniature model of the plaza tree.

Interactivity
  • Players and villagers can sit on rocks.
  • Players can shake trees while holding a Watering Can, Fishing Rod, Net, Slingshot, Toy Hammer and Megaphone.
  • Players can interact with items in front of them while sitting down.
  • Players can perform a short dance when interacting with the campfire Public Works Project.
  • Players will pose in a fighting stance when interacting with a Judge's Bell.
  • Beans that are thrown on the ground in the Campground or Main Street will now attract nearby birds, who will land on the ground and eat them.
  • Club Tortimer now has a mute function, which allows the player to hide other players' text.
  • Visiting players are not able to remove ground designs set in the host town.

Miscellaneous
  • Existing Dream Addresses are not compatible with the update. A new address must be generated at the Dream Suite to share a Dream Town, and addresses now contain letters in addition to numbers.
  • Villagers can now move out up to 10 days after announcing to the player that they are leaving town, instead of the previous 5 day period.
  • New villagers who move into town can no longer build their houses on top of ground designs. If there is insufficient space for a villager house to be placed, they will not move in.
  • An increased amount of former villagers and current villagers now appear on Main Street.
  • Scanning a Villager's amiibo will bypass the 16 former villager limit, and allow that villager to move back into town.
  • Villagers can be invited to town from Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, and their house will feature the layout as designed by the player in that game.
  • The filter used on custom designs is no longer used on designs placed on the ground, but is now used on designs used as wallpaper.
  • Using a Mii Mask now changes the player's skintone to match.
  • Fertilizer can now revive dead Perfect Fruit trees. Leif will mail a free sample to the player.
  • Cyrus will wave at the player when retrieving an item that has been customized at Re-Tail.
  • The lights of the Happy Home Showcase sign are now much brighter and a cold white light, instead of a warm white light.
  • Timmy and Tommy no longer explain how to use Wrapping Paper every time the player purchases it. They will now only give the explanation the very first time it's purchased.
  • Placement restrictions for certain Public Works Projects have been altered so that they can be placed closer to immovable structures than before.
  • A ceremony is held in front of the plaza tree on the date of the town's anniversary.

I don't think it's worth getting a 'new' 3DS, I have an original 3DS and am finding the new content ok, I have had to get a 'new' 3DS because my original 3DS's (A) button is on it's way out, I don't think that it is worth getting a 'new' 3DS just for this content, if you have not been playing continually anyway.

What beans, where do you get beans from?

Does anyone have the required amiibo or card that has the 3DS. I'm having terrible luck trying to get it from fortune cookies. D:

This update is lovely, even though I don't have the Amiibo function available to me (but oh how I wish I did).

Question: When do I know that something in the river/ocean is trash? Do I just have to keep fishing??

Do you have the Beautiful Town thingy selected at the Town Hall? If so you'll never get trash by fishing.
