All right guys, I'm bored and need a good anime to watch. I'm looking for something dark/supernatural/mystery etc.

Vampire Hunter
Berserk.
Blood+
Evangelion(my favorite not so much dark though)
Hellsing (OVA or TV)

I have seen the Hellsing OVAs, at least 1 and 2, and yes, they were pretty fuck awesome.
3 and 4 get even more fuck awesomer, but if you haven't seen Monster thats a good Mystery/suspense anime.

Another recommendation for Gankutsuou, epic anime and fits everything you demanded.

And just because I recommend this anime in every single one of these threads, Now and Then Here and There.

Has 4 been subtitled yet? Also, I've seen Monster, and I really did enjoy it ;D

I should watch Gankutsuou again. I still have it all somewhere. I've been meaning to pick up the boxset.

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni fulfills all the criteria, just don't watch the second season since it takes a huge nose dive after the first few episodes.

Ghost Hunt
Ghost Hound
Ergo Proxy
Perfect Blue

Are some other good ones.

You should really do it soon, with Genon out of business it's only going to get harder to find them.

Nooo! I go against recommending Elfen Lied. The series was just so boring, they didn't focus on the awsomeness of Lucy. It was just one dragging story...

I do recommend Haruhi though but you said dark lol...So maybe, code geas?

I read the Elfen Lied manga... which was way more graphic than the anime btw. Geass... seen season 1, sort of want to watch s2.

how come no one say Death Note?

EvilLore:
what are those top ten based off? from where? was it based off what gaffers thought or what?

Anyone know if theres anything related to FLCL? I loved loved loved that show. One of the few animes I ever watched.

FUCK YEAH! so underrated.

other recommendations:

Serial Experiments Lain
Haibane Renmei
Boogiepop Phantom.
Blood the Last Vampire (Blood+ fucking sucks)
Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni
Ghost Hunt

More leaned towards the supernatural, you have Mushishi. Really lovely.

Also, Paranoia Agent is pretty good. And there's always Boogiepop Phantom.

Not sure if this falls under "dark" (it's more like noir) but pimpin out Speed Grapher anyway:

Speed Grapher.
Studio: GONZO
Episodes: 24
Intro: Girls on Film by Duran Duran.
Synopsis (spoilers for Ep 1):
Following the collapse of the world's economy, the gulf between the rich and poor deepens more than ever. Enter Tatsumi Saiga (center), an ex-war photographer who manages to infiltrate Tokyo's secret pleasure club, where the entirety of the social elite congregate to indulge in their sickest fantasies. The centerpiece of the orgy of perversion is Kagura Tennouzu (right) a girl who has the ability to awaken latent powers within those called Euphoria through a single kiss. These powers usually arise out of their obsessions and fetishes, and anyone who is not a Euphoria is instantly killed by Kagura's lips.

Saiga, when discovered, is brought before a hypnotized Kagura for execution, but when he miraculously regenerates his wounds it becomes obvious that he too, is a Euphoria. He gains the ability to destroy anything ihe takes a photo of, (as per Saiga's hard-on for photography) and uses this ability to escape. Cue self imposed quest to free Kagura of the club's manager Chouji Suitengu and destroy the lifeblood of Japan's ruling class.

Ergo Proxy- philosophical and has a tint of darkness.
Monster- detective anime, nice twists and characters
Death Note- sort of like Monster, lots of twist, a fight between justices.
