I don't know if I'm interested in an entire Squirrel Girl film, but it could make for a funny gag in one of the films. Especially as a recurring thing.

The more I think about it, even if they did make a SG film and I wasn't interested in it, that's okay. I don't have to watch and see every Marvel comic film. I've enjoyed Kendrick in every movie I've ever seen her in so I would love to see her get bigger parts.

This is just one of the few reasons why the franchise is something to value. It resonates with a younger audience, and she's a great role model for little girls who have interests in the medium. Squirrel Girl is a gateway not only into the world of comics, but the world of reading. This book needs to exist.

You're really trying hard to hate on this character which is really sad. If you want consistency or grounded or reason about a universe where people can manipulate luck or have a gauntlet that gives ultimate power over every thing then you're not going to get it.

How come Iron Man doesn't die anytime he crashes into anything? How does Thor's hammer work? How does Hulk stay standing after every thing he does? What reasoning is behind Superman having lasers? Why can't he see through iron?

Your reasons can easily be handwaved away because she's a gimmick character in a universe where, when thought about, all the characters are gimmicks in their own way. Every one loses for dumbass reasons and that's OK but when SG wins it's "MAKE IT MAKE SENSE".
 
Marvel or Disney could easily sell Squirrel Girl as a live action or animated feature. This is totally in their ballpark. We're talking about a company that made Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Big Hero Six work. The Marvel or Disney logo will hand wave any concerns the general public may have.

And people questioning the profitability of a PG-13 deadpool-esque movie? How many parents did you see drag their kids out of that flick? It's there. It just needs the right writers, cast and someone able to keep it in budget.

im not trying hard in hating anything. i didnt mind the character when she was relegated to simple joke character who casually encounters various characters, but in a non serious context, because it wouldnt make sense otherwise. but being played straight after that becomes an issue because shes intermingling with characters that have had life or death struggles with these adversaries, that still struggle with these adversaries, and if she has the power to stop them, then why doesnt she? why isnt she the first on the ground during civil war 2 when thanos was a threat? if shes managed to overpower said characters, why hasnt she done it again?
 
Squirrel Girl is horrible on every level. She's a joke character that isn't funny. She's not even humorous in the "so bad it's good" model. Her look is trash. Costume, trash.

Also, Tippy Toe sucks.
 
Yesterday I was listening to NPR and they had a short interview clip with Anna Kendrick. She said something along the lines of "I want to rip off your face and eat your flesh".

I desperately want to get this clip so I can set it as a text message alert.

Your logic makes zero sense. There are so many characters in Marvel and DC or any series that has super powers where people can fuck shit up, but they never do. It's to continue the story and characters. If Thanos had the gauntlet the only true ending would be every one but him losing. That doesn't occur because dumbass writing that doesn't make anything seem reasonable. Superman can drag planets but why can't he do X? Well, the crappy writing doesn't allow him to. It turns out if you took all the super heroes and super villains and let them do what their allegiance wanted them to do then every thing would be gone almost instantaneously.

They can make a good SG if they wanted to. Your hate is really odd considering all the bullshit that does occur in comics especially if you want reason.

most characters with massive powers have massive hangups as to why they cant do things. as bs as it is, theres rationales behind them. theres no such thing with her. they happened, but thats the end of it. no rhyme or reason, it just is. but why? its like the original sin arc with thor. a few words, and hes unworthy, but noone knows why, and it pisses people off. any reason explaining other than "it happened" and "she bested them" thats a non answer, and with her being a joke character something that i wouldnt question. but putting in the middle of things makes her suspect to things that happen around her. and noone seems to be asking why or how. its spock shit all over again(not that bad, but up there)

Each of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, individually. Scrooge McDuck. Lying Cat. Scott Pilgrim. Fone Bone and Smiley Bone (but not Phoney Bone). The chick from Ghost World. V. Miracleman. Jughead. Tintin and Captain Haddock. Rick Grimes. Asterix under the influence of magic potion prepared by the druid Getafix. Dream. Spider Jerusalem. Yorick. Tank Girl. And of course, infamously, both Lone Wolf and Cub.

Some people think she's OP, but I'm ok with it.
