Sony getting lazy with these limited editions, when are we getting the clear/neon consoles again

The controller is sexy but I do really want a blue translucent ds4 like my ps2 dualshock!

The idea of having the exact name of a game on my console seems like a really stupid idea. It makes the console look dated so much faster, in just a couple of years Arkham Knight will be a memory (and we don't know yet if that'll be a good memory or a bad one).

Console would have looked much better without the text.

At least you can switch the faceplate...

I want to get this one.. Im already tired of seeing my white ps4. This one is so much better. Im gonna roll the dice and not preorder and hope GS/BB will do a trade-in promotion for a ps4 right around before this bundle comes out and just use the credits towards this one.

Not to say the Arkham Knight edition isn't good. Batman has always been the coolest shit for me. A Batman PS4 is stuff of my dreams.

It's a physical copy, thankfully. The front of the system box lists the included game is a disc.

Definitely going to be selling my launch PS4 for this edition. I'm not thrilled about the text on the faceplate, but everything else is aces.

Oh, I totally agree; the SW 360 has always been tacky and loud looking to me too. I posted it because it left a clear impression on me as being different from the normal system and because Arkham Knight's PS4 LE really doesn't.

I don't like the early trend here of PS4 LE's basically just changing the color of plastic and replacing the hard drive cover like This or This. Some of the LEs are looking good, and taking more advantage of the full console surface though; Dragon Quest Heroes' console is a good example of using the space available and differentiating the LE from a standard system.

I think the type of limited editions ties in with the amount that there's been in under a year and a half. Sony has traditionally pretty bad when it comes to producing things like limited edition and coloured consoles partly because it's incredibly expensive for a company to set a new production line up for a limited edition console so I' not at all surprised by the way they've dealt with it and I do think that is one of the reasons there's another silver PS4 like the Dragon Quest one you show, it's so much more economic to do it that way and add different faceplates and/or different LEDs.

On the plus side, people seem to be willing to buy limited edition PS4s so I'm wondering if Sony are actually making money on the limited editions already. If they are then we'll probably get a more and more of them.

I'm pretty sure that Sony will end up expanding on the Project SkyLight beta and they'll go into general production at some point when there's a larger install base so they can do a quick run of them as there does seem to be a market for that stuff and all they are is a simple piece of plastic so they're relatively cheap to make

I've been genuinely surprised by the number of coloured/limited edition PS4s there has been so far and they apparently sell out easily enough if this place is anything to go by. I'm wondering if there's ever been so many design variations for a home console so early in it's life? I know there was loads of different N64s but I'm pretty sure they were generally much later in the consoles life. There seems to be a new PS4 design being announced at regular intervals.

I really hope they release the MGSV PS4 controllers by themselves. I'd gladly buy one.

It would be nice if they did a MGSV PS4 bundle here in the states but I'm not sure they really need to.

I do think Sony has one more big bundle this year and I think that bundle is Battlefront.

I love the minimal style and the color. The controller is awesome as well.

To all those that said my quick mockup looks tacky, I think my problem with the official one is that it has little to do with Arkham Knight--outside of some text on the faceplate and a generic batman design it's just a silver PS4.

I've always preferred the clean and minimalist look of limited editions. I almost jumped on this but saw the that it has text on the cover plate. The limited edition of your vision looks way too busy, and you can probably print strickers to make your ps4 look like that.
