They're probably right.
Interesting since I've been seeing the exact opposite from launch titles alone, let alone games 2-3 years from now.
They're probably right.
I believe I am in the minority of people, although there are indeed those of us out there, who absolutely truly enjoyed both Infamous games that were released on the PS3. I have seen all the comments, dead lifeless city, moral system was awful at best, etc., but I still really enjoyed the hell out of them.
As such, I am incredibly sincere when I say this is easily my most anticipated game of the next gen. By a huge margin as well. These screens just solidify my anticipation that much more.
Damn I cannot wait.
I'm all over this game and I can't wait for it to come out even though I've never played inFamous, but I also can't wait for Super Smash and Mario Kart to come out and it is true, diminishing returns, for most people. Most of my friends who game every now and then don't notice all the particle effects and reflections and impressive shaders. They didn't see a big difference between Sleeping Dogs and GTA IV. They just want to play games and don't notice the differences as much. I'm stoked to see night time gameplay with rain, but for many it won't have the same impact.
Edit : Naming SSB and Mario Kart is because they're not as technically impressive, but gameplay wise it's top notch and that's why I'm more eager to try SSB than any other game shown so far. I'm glad this and TitanFall seem to have nice gameplay innovations too, the mixing/combining of elements/powers is something I built a game design document around a little while ago and it has me interested, A LOT. TitanFall seems to bring much new stuff to online FPS multiplayer on consoles, like I loved IW doing with COD2 and 4. At the same time, you have stuff that's announced with gameplay that looks really lacking.
They're probably right.

inFamous being one of my most anticipated games... who could have ever predicted this
Enjoyed the first, second one not so much. Of the exclusive launch window titles on both systems this is the game that I want the most, it looks incredible.I believe I am in the minority of people, although there are indeed those of us out there, who absolutely truly enjoyed both Infamous games that were released on the PS3. No. It changes depending on the most recent story mission you've completed.Never play any Infamous games. Do they have dynamic Day/Night cycle?
Every screenshot or video that gets released gets me more stoked about the game. I enjoyed Infamous 1 & 2 but never really like the protagonist. I always thought he looked generic and bland. I know a lot of people dislike the look of Deslin but I think it's a nice change. Plus, Troy Baker is doing the voice over work.

I thought it was Deslin for a long ass time.Is "Delsin" going to be the most misspelled word on GAF since "definitely"?

Me too. When I saw the inFamous logo at the end of the reveal trailer in February I immediatelly told myself, 'The day this game launches, I'm buying a PS4' and I'm very happy that it looks like I'll be able to stick to the promise without any regrets.Same here. I enjoyed both too even Festival of Blood. Although city really seemed dead but despite that both games were fun. And Infamous: SS is totally a different beast. Can't wait to play it.
Killzone got me considering a day 1 purchase, this guaranteed it.Me too. I'm not a fan FPS games but if I was I would be buying PS4 day one as well.Killzone looks amazing and to think it's only a launch game...I can't wait to see what the second GG team is doing!Killzone got me considering a day 1 purchase, this guaranteed it.
Sooo anyone have a link to the video yet?
I honestly could care less about the smoke abilities!
Unless the game is only 4 hours long, it will be the game to make Xbox only gamers jealous. (Full disclosure I'm getting an Xbox and ps4).
Anyone who wanted a youtube link for the panel here it is:

Surely there is a water power with that water drying up effect
Water powers would be fucking awesome. Just imagine the possibilities.
So far we've seen that he can take down stuff like DUP barricades, bridges, and watch towers, and at the end of the E3 demo he destroys the dinosaur monument. I'm not sure if you can demolish entire concrete buildings though.Any videos of the RF:G level destruction? I find it hard to believe.
It's a Open-World Action-Adventure game. Of course, the game is gonna be 30fps.Its not good to get your hopes up for 60fps. The game is still in dev so they could just be slowly adding more and more eyecandy until its a solid 30fps. I'm fine either way though.

Were absolutely looking to let people create total havoc and we want to let people walk on the wild side, but also we dont want to let people level the city to a flat parking lot because thats not fun, Fox warns.
For this reason, Fox openly admits that there are times when game-world rules have to be bent or broken in order to ensure the experience remains enjoyable, even at the expense of consistency.
For instance, we dont want to level a certain building, even if it might be a very rickety looking building, if levelling it means theres nothing to climb on or no cover to hide behind, Fox explained, and added, In general though, our contract with the player is if they think they should be able to do something we try to let them do it, so anything you think you can climb on we let you climb on, so that we maintain trust, and if something seems to you that you should be able to destroy it we try to let you destroy it.
so shit taku did an article on this game.
