Answer five short questions for a chance to win a $60 game (Now Closed)

With all of that out of the way, here are the questions!

1. Have you considered becoming a game developer / are you currently a game developer?

2. In general, do you prefer contract / temporary employment or long term / permanent employment?

3. If you worked in the game industry, would you prefer to work at a small / indie studio or a large / AAA studio?

4. Would you prefer to work on one large project over the course of several years, or work on several different projects over the same course of time?

5. If you did work in the game industry, would you prefer to work in a company that has a publisher as a partnership or work in a company that self-publishes games?

1. I've considered it, but am not currently a game developer. No time in my schedule to go back to school lol.

2. I prefer permanent employment.

3. I'd prefer to work in a smaller/indie studio.

4. I'd prefer to work on one large project, like the folks at Moon Studios did with Ori and the Blind Forest.

5. I prefer self-publishing. Don't see the need for publishers these days.

1. Yes

2. Permanent employment

3. Indie studio

4. One large project over the course of several years

5. A company that self-publishes games

1. Considered, but I'm not a developer
2. Looking term
3. Small/indie studio
4. Several small projects
5. Self publish

Doh! Too slow.

1. No

2. Permanent

3. Small/indie studio

4. One large project

5. Self-publish

Edit: Whoops. Oh well, good luck with the project!

1. Might consider it. Still in school doing computer science so still a possibility

2. Long term. Much more confront

3. Large AAA. AAA studios seems to have better benefits and pay

4. Large Project.

5. Either one is fine

1) It's on my bucket list, at least. Hopefully it won't actually take that long to get started.

2) Long term.

3) Indy.

4) I wouldn't want to tackle multiple projects on my own, but I'd be comfortable managing multiple teams. Possibly more comfortable, since my expertise tends to be wide but shallow.

5) Nobody ever got rich working for somebody else. That said, the occasional 2nd-party "big"-budget title might be fun, if I had the staff and an appropriate relationship with a platform holder.

Seems it over but I feel like answering anyways.

1. Not only considering, aspiring to be once I'm done with my degree.

2. Permanent, if the work place has a great environment.

3. Gonna wanna start small so indie for me.

4. Several, progressing each one and find the one that sticks well in terms of a being fun game and accomplish-able.

5. Self-publishing, if possible.

Was definitely my pleasure. Thanks to all for taking a couple minutes out of your day to help with my project :)

There was some interest in the results of the survey, so once I go through all the data I'll compile some stuff and bump the thread with some info. No timeline on that, necessarily. Probably sometime before December, though.
