With things about to heat up and us gamers eager to partake in the software blitz known as 4th quarter, most of us are also eager to see how each machine does this winter since they will all be here and the fight for next gen king will have started. Is there really another factor behind it though? Some say sony will win because they are sony, some say MS has the edge because of their head start on next gen, some say the Wii because of nintendos strong catalog of classics along with its new way of play.

I've always said the only thing that truly matters is the games themselves, New launches or not. This place is usually rife with sales data so does anyone have for maybe from 2000-2005, not only the console numbers for november-december of those years but also the best selling software titles for those same period? If say GTA truly did push ps2 one holiday and Halo pushing xbox another, maybe it'll be quite simple to figure out the victor for this holiday based on who has what. Nintendo-Zelda, MS-Gears, PS3-Resistance?

Zelda will sell the most. Easily.

The closest competitor is FFXII, and then Gears.

If bundles are included:
Nintendo-Wiisports

Nintendo sells WiiSports with every Zelda game they sell in the west.
Otherwise its Nintendo-Zelda its even on 2 systems and a no-brainer since Zelda games have a much bigger audience then Gears.

Zelda TWW came out in March 03.

Nintendo's biggest holiday game for the Gamecube was Mario Kart Double Dash.
