Selena.

Not really familiar with her work, but being murdered like that... I'd give her another shot at life.
What I remember most of her is death is my grandfather picking me up from school ( I was in the 1st grade) on my birthday and telling me Selena died. What you all don't know here is that my sisters name is Celina. Spelled differently but pronounced the same. Needless to say I was immediately saddened and had to wait to get home to see my sister alive.

Arthur Russell.

Absolute genius gone way too soon. He didn't get any big recognition until way after his death.

Also judging by this thread he's not getting enough of it.

Dont want to name someone who took their own life, since they obviously did not want to be here. So I choose Freddy Mercury.

You want to bring back someone who still had heaps and heaps to offer the world? Bring back Buddy Holly. How he would've reacted to the late 60's would've been fascinating to see.

Jaco Pastorius. Pre-drug days. Dude was near untouchable in his prime, it's a shame he threw away his talent in his later years.

Still, an absolute Bass Master.

Aside from him, Chuck from Death. I miss you, you incredible artist :'(

Many other which I'm sure have been mentioned, Jeff Buckley was another one. He would have made brilliant music. Unlike my other picks, Jeff was barely at the start of his career too.

There are some people like Freddie Mercury I'd love to bring back/make not die if it was possible (people who died of more or less treatable diseases or, say, were murdered), but there are also some people like Nick Drake and Kurt Cobain who had such severe mental problems that I wouldn't want to bring them back to suffer more unless I could be 100% certain that I or someone could help them with their struggles to happier lives (and because you can't be 100% certain about things like that, I'd just let them rest in peace) and people who were super-dickwads like John Lennon who I wouldn't want terrorizing other people anymore than they already did when they were still alive, no matter how good their music was.

Lennon
Hendrix
Mercury
Cobain
Roads
Staley
Morrison

Lennon=Nope...for what more Yoko and co nosense...
Hendrix=Fine
Mercury=Yes
Cobian=No no no no he doesn't wanna be here...let that fucker rest
Rhoads=Yes
Staley=Yes
Morrison=nope, shitty pretty poet, dies at the right time, nothing else to be gained.

I'll add a few more now that I thought a bit.

M. Jackson, only if I can time travel and fix his childhood
Elvis, I think he would be Interesting
Cliff Burton, real talent might have kept Metallica less shitty for longer.
Markus Löffel of Jam and Spoon
Mette Christensen of Crispy, because fuck cancer.

Jay Reatard, although i'm not sure he'd stay alive long enough to record a new album.

MCA, because I want to listen to Hot Sauce Committee part 1.

Chris Bell.

lol at tupac, cobain, even mj.

personally, it has to be sinatra.

I believe people chose Tupac, Kurt Cobain etc because they died before they had a long career. Sinatra is someone we got to see perform and hit his prime so that is why even if he was brought back, we wouldnt get as much as one of the other younger singers who passed away early.

Robert Johnson . Mostly because he's such a mysterious figure and no one really knows the complete story and no one ever will. It's legend now and forever will be. His impact is incredible.
