Georges Bizet, a genius who died before he could see his masterpiece "Carmen" become one of the most popular operas ever written. God knows he had so much more to give.

Because he just loves playing the music so much.
Janice Joplin and maybe Layne Staley. Joplin is the only singer I've ever listened to and I was sad that I never got to see her live. Staley because his voice is just amazing. I can listen to Rooster all day even now.
Otis Redding would be mine.
Dude died at 26 in a plane crash. His voice had the soul of a man in his fifties when he was in his early 20s, can't imagine how soulful he woulda sounded after a life of hardship and whiskey.
Elliott Smith![]()
is this the guy who sang that Eurodance song in 1994 or so? Scatman something?
Bon Scott.

Def Leppard's White Lightning, Steve Clark. When he died, it was like the band had lost an arm, lost the indefinable brilliance that Steve brought with him. It's debatable whether he would've continued with them anyway, seeing as he was on a leave of absence due to his drinking, but even if so, he was a great loss and Leppard's music has never really had that magical touch since (though I'm still a fan).
I would've loved to see what he would've brought to Slang...
