I imagine some game journalists are still here lurking at times to watch as the site gets sucked towards the black hole. The site feels like it's on life support. It could still survive, but it's not going to be the same as before.
Granted, I have felt the site was declining for awhile. This last event just accelerated it. Maybe it's just me though. Insiders were here less, and developers it seemed. We no longer even had huge NPD threads.(because of no insiders leaking) Even the gaming side didn't seem very happy. This year has been awesome for games, and yet many seemed so pissed off.

Stink went to S L A E N T(pretty decent place too btw, chill as fuck moderation and great design), said he may or may not move to era.

You must be very observant and organized, you wrote and then calculated how many registrations happened in 10 minutes and then, I assume, guessed that the admins are working at it?

Probably due to all the detective gaf stuff and linkedin resume threads. At least thats why I considered leaving before.

This is the thing though, some of the toxicity has moved over to the new forums. Some of the vocal minority that made NeoGAF unpleasant to post if you had a different opinion, has already moved there. Theyre using the same usernames.
Obviously if its not tolerated then great. As some people say NeoGAF was strict but I dont agree. Some of the stuff people were allowed to post without punishment was shocking.
Its in a honeymoon phase at the minute so time will tell what the forums end up like.

It wasn't hard. They were doing invites in waves and it was at like 3.7k for an hour before the open reg and 6 after.
Haven't told a single lie in that post. It's ironic that you seem to be complaining about the old witch hunts and are more than happy to continue others just to cover up the actual state of the forum. All I said was to actually look at the current activity level. That's it.

I did the same thing in another thread about the state of GAF, but looked at total posts. This place is supposed to be a neutral ground where facts are discussed. Why do you want to ignore the facts or other sides? A neutral ground should not delete or ignore such discussions or facts.
FYI in the last 2-3 hours there have been 10,000 posts there and only about 500 posts here.

This is how I always felt. Some dude make it known, I feel the majority doesn't.
I saw the post in the announcements section saying not to mention this place, but many of the users over there either haven't looked at the announcements or have and just want to continue doing what they were doing here, and are choosing not to do a 'reset' with the memes and so forth.
Think it's locked to new users. There was a glitch that allowed a bunch through, but probably have to wait a bit until others can join.
They're doing invite only atm. They apparently accidentally opened things up for ten minutes. These posts will probably be deleted, though.
The new forum isn't doing the same. You are referencing to the request made to not make threads on NeoGAF?
This has been decided collectively in the discord. It's been a suggestion by the community, not the staff. People on RE don't want to kindle resentment between the two boards and would rather leave it in the past.
And honestly, people on ResetEra currently have zero incentive to even talk about NeoGAF. I mean, what does this board have to offer currently?
We made plenty of jokes and comments about Evilore in the discords already over the last two days. The community is moving on.
Go take a look at what's happening on RE and tell me that's censorship.
Where are those posters now? On NeoGAF still? Inactive or the new forums?
Some people (not you) think the new forum will be free from that, it wont be. The only thing that can differentiate it is the moderation.
While some people think moderation removes free rights, it actually moulds and forms an environment, either good or bad (depending on whats allowed). Its shown how bad things get if you let people say whatever they want and talk to each other like shit.

Im not a big dev, im actually working right now on an indie game with some other talented people. But ive worked with 5thCell games on the scribblenaut games. In fact, I will always be thankfull of old neogaf as it was the forum that got me my first real job in the industry at 5thCell thank to being thriving with devs during that era.
Devs that are never coming back. They didnt left after what happened this last week, most of them bailed long ago when everything turned hostile.
"Lazy devs", such a horrible and false thibg to say to the majority of developers in this industry.
And the ones that were still here, like our little home and indiedev, stayed here because of the welcoming indiedev community and thread here.
Press had similar reasons to bail, but I cant talk for them.
Now you just need to see the rules of [other things on the internet] some of you seem to hate so much. Devs and press will be treated with respect (of course, criticising is always open if done with respect), and part of the mod team are press people persecuted out by gaf. They want to lay a new foundation for devs and press to be welcome and make the videogame forum there an intelligent discussion about videogames. If it will work, only the future will tell, but I can say they are off to a good start.
And even if they didnt went to the [othee thibgs on the internet], "way point" was also a very welcoming site for them. Smaller indie devs included.
Nobody is coming back, not even if EL gets out, its to late for that (it was too late long ago already).
Some of you will pobably say your are better wirhout them, or new devs will appear, or im sure they will come back in the future when the new forum (some of you hope) fails, but that means nothing will convince you otherwise.
My two cents as a dev, dont wait for them, because you are going to keep waiting forever.

What was the total members of that place? The one I found on Google lists less than 300 members. That might be why it is dead.

There is none. The only stuff you'll find is content. Gaming content and OT content like GAF used to have.

I think journalists and devs stay out of the light in general on forums. There are only a minority that come out and say it. Gaf isn't the only place that has a history of shit talking devs.
