Anybody else hate when people called VFX in movies "graphics"?

People at work were taking about Man of Steel today and kept saying how the graphics at the end were too much! Too many graphics!

I don't hate it, but I am amused.

It was a fine year, that one. All the videogames were movies and all the movies were videogames.

I hate it when people call things CGI instead of just CG. I instantly assume that they also still call the internet the "world wide web" and need to tighten up the graphics on level 4.

I've heard it a lot, doesn't really bother me. It comes out more naturally and less awkward than 'VFX' (now this I've never heard someone say), and shorter to say than 'special effects'. Shorter and more convenient always wins.

Zack Snyder really needed to tighten up the graphics in scene 3.

I agree.

No, why should you? Films are part of our culture, to some they are nothing but entertainment and a pass time.

To others it's their livelyhood, hobby etc. Why do you feel like everyone should use film terminology accurately? Should auto mechanics be upset when customers say the gear shifts on their car is failing?

I hate it when people refer to tennis matches as games =p

I tase them until they get it right
