Anyone double dipping for Destiny 2?

I definitely want to play the PC version, but I will only double dip if I can continue playing the characters I start on PS4. I don't want to waste more than a month of game time and progress.

I hope Bungie is reading this thread and will implement cross-save or at least some sort of character transfer option.

It's not going to happen, Activision aren't going to be the enablers of reducing the number of subscribers for the consoles.

I might if enough people I play games with on the PC get it but if not I'll just stick to PS4 and solo like I usually do.

Don't have time to double dip, so I surely won't play the worst version.

None of my friends game anymore, so PC single dip is best choice for me. I'll find a way to make new friends, maybe even get my wife into it.

I'm really hyped, so yes. I ended up pre-ordering during the amazon e3 promo (so it was 49.99/copy instead of the normal 79.99 up here in Canada).

Most of my friends will be picking it up on PC, so that will end up being our main platform. EBgames apparently has a coupon valid until Oct 1 that gives double trade-in value, so if I end up burning through the content, I will probably be able to to trade it in and get most of my money back (or at like 70-80% value), so really it will be like spending $20 for a ~2 month rental.

My friends are playing on PS4, and my brothers are playing on PC, so I guess I'll have to!

Ha, same boat I'm in... Only I'm ditching my brothers. I chose them for the division over my console friends and it was a mistake, they quit on me too soon... Can't make that mistake again!

I've got the white PS4 Pro with D2 preordered

After that, I'm getting PC. I just hope they'll change their mind about cross save before it releases

Digital bought and preloaded on both consoles and a physical limited edition from gamestop. Anyone trying to buy the Xbox physical disk, preorder bonuses, and DLC for $75? I just want the trinkets.

Unfortunately yes. I have to get it on PS4 if i want the "best" experience because i have 6 friends who are getting it on the console which means i can raid and do strikes without random angry-imamture people this time around. But i also kind of enjoy the PVP but can't stand FPS competitive on consoles so i am getting it on PC to play that and maybe hopefully find a group of relaxed non raged filled grown ups to play raids with.

They all have capable PC's and buy every FPS game on PC (except this). I think they are all impatient.

I'm still debating on it. I've got a pretty beefy pc, but I've been having pc issues I've yet to get to the bottom of (randomly freezes until I hard reboot, but since I have an ssd that only takes like 4 seconds. Will it be possible to reconnect to stuff in D2 if I disconnect?), but I also only have a non-pro PS4.

Agree 100%. I have mentioned it and hope it's in the works.

But cross save isn't cross buy. You're still double dipping. They likely have dollar signs in their eyes imagining how many additional copies they'll sell if that was a functioning feature. People didn't double dip for D1 (except for some true die hards) because of the duplicate grind but would now. I certainly would.

Their release strategy is so evil and ingenious.
They learned from Rockstar. This is nothing compared to GTA V.

PS3/360 versions out September 2013. No word of any release for next gen consoles which released only couple months later. A lot of people would've held off buying if they knew it was coming to PS4/XB1.

PS4/XB1/PC versions announced 9 months later in June 2014. People then feel like they are missing out because these versions are better performance/graphics wise. For a lot of people the only reason they kept their PS3/360 was to play GTA V.

PC version gets delayed and doesn't release until April 2015.

With Red Dead 2 it won't be so bad because we aren't dealing with next gen consoles yet but they are obviously tempting people to double dip again. Officially the game is only coming to consoles so people might just pick it up there instead because they can't wait to play and because there is no official word on a PC release. Personally I think there is no doubt of a PC release.

No way is Rockstar not gonna release on PC. Just look at how well GTA V is doing. Plus Rockstar have got super greedy and the more platforms the more money they will make from Donkey Cards or whatever the hell they call the microtransactions in Red Dead Online.

Pro only for now. Cross save would convince me to get it on PC once I build a computer with my son, but alas they don't want my cash.

Just waiting on reviews to see how good the game is.

Planning on using that trick to make two ps4s play the same game where only one account has PS+. I think I heard somewhere that this works with PSN games. This way my brother and I can play without buying the game twice.

Lol. This isn't GTA V. PC version comes out next month, which isn't much of a wait considering there's a gazillion games out there. Also, as others have observed, no cross-save.

I'm not even single-dipping.

Yeah will get the physical copy on PS4 and Digital PC.

I have two great groups I play with on both platforms.

Kinda doubt it. Unless Destiny has significantly upped it's game, I'll probably play through the game and try to do the normal raid once, then go back to Warframe. Plains of Eidolon looks more interesting than anything I've seen from Destiny 2.

Yup.

Gonna load my D1 character (Hunter) into D2 on PS4, play until the PC version comes out, and start up a Warlock.

Also the PS4 exclusive shit.

Meh, I bought it on PS4 today (with the intention of letting one of my Gaf friends play my account mainly) and I told my rl friends (who only play on PC) if at least 4 of them, I will get it. And to my fucking surprises, they msged me today saying 4 of them are getting it too. A promise is a promise....

That moment when you go back to page 2 and see Checkpointasaurus nope out on ps4 and kinda die a little inside

Say it ain't so, R2

Yeah. PS4 and PC.

I really am holding on to hope we'll get cross save/characters someday. I don't expect it at launch, but it just makes way too much sense.

I've already got the PS4 version downloaded and ready to go as that's where my friends are. If it's worthwhile I'll probably grab the equivalent of TTK edition on PC when it's cheap.

i was about to double dip on Destiny 1 two years ago , i had a digital copy and wanted a Physical copy because a masterpiece like Destiny is worth a physical copy, but i changed my mind at the last minute because they keep Re-release it with new content

maybe i'll double dip on Destiny 2

Oh you!! ~_^ How can you change your mind at the last minute with knowledge of new content that was not even announced yet?

The only way I would even consider it is if characters were unified. I can't imagine doing the grind twice.

But since PS4 is all about exclusive content, I wouldn't be surprised if they did Xbox-PC cross save before anything with PS4 characters.

i was about to buy The physical copy of TTK, but i thought they might release another one next year, and they did, but i didn't buy Rise of Iron at all because i was busy with other games and i got bored of Destiny, so i cancelled the idea of double dipping
