Anyone else dangerously close to succumbing and picking up an Xbox One for Titanfall?

I think people are overestimating how the 360 version will be. Graphically I'm not worried and it may not look much different graphically than the XBO version. But the CPU in the 360 is so incredibly inferior to what is in the XBO and 2-3 year old PC's. Source engine is already CPU bound and this game has AI opponents at the same time as 6v6 multiplayer and lots of things going on with titans and jumping and physics and everything.

Hmmm.....no one is telling him what to do. OP asked a simple question and wanted to know if anyone else was in the same boat as him, and people responded with what they plan on doing.

But anyways, like others, I think that's way too much money for a game that can be played on a PC and the 360. Which is what I plan on doing. Especially since it will look so much better on the PC.

How many tens of thousands exactly? You seem quite confident in saying there will be a significant bump - how large will it be from February to March in your opinion?

Not quite sold on the game yet, but if I get it, it'll be on PC. Not gonna drop $550+ on a console and a Gold account. And 1920x1200 resolution is nice.
6v6 doesn't sound great to me as a "random" however. At least in games that support many more players, if I'm terrible it won't make a huge impact.

That's because a lot of us already have Xbox Ones.
Most of the people responding aren't interested, don't have any intention of trying it, or will go PC.
I never got the sense it was a gamechanger, just that it was supposed to amazing to pay and lots of fun. This is going to turn into the Rock Band meme isn't it? Where people tell other people you're not really having fun with Titanfall, it's just marketing and hype.

I have a PC, so I won't be succumbing to that. Ask me again when the next Halo comes out though...

If you want the XB1 version, you're going to pay $618.89 the first year and then another $59.99 a year after that to continue playing Titanfall through XBL Gold.
If you already have a 3-year-old PC (or even a 4-year-old build), you only need to drop $149 on a new video card and $59.99 on the game itself ($209.98 total) and never have to pay anything else again to play Titanfall. And, oh yea, the PC version will look and play better than the Xbox One version.

Nope, won't pay 600 dollars to play Titanfall. (Console/game/live).
I own a PC, so no Titanfall won't make me pick up a XB1. I'm definitely picking up Titanfall though, had a blast during the Beta. If you don't have a decent PC, or simply don't care about PC gaming whatsoever, then I could see a person picking up an XB1 for Titanfall. Still kinda steep though, you'd really have to not give a fuck about PC gaming to justify it.

As a happy PS4 owner, I'll admit that I got the itch and have considered it. I'm no fan of Microsoft or the Xbone.. but Titanfall does look very fun. I like new toys, and I have no interest in a gaming PC.
I'll probably end up buying the game for the 360, however. I suspect that it's going to look and perform very similar to the Xbone version, anyway.

I just expected it to be something special after the near-tangible hype that was surrounding it.
That wasn't the case. Solid shooter perhaps, but I burned out on Call of Duty for good reason and nothing I've seen is pulling me in.

Even if Titanfall was exclusively for the Xbox One I wouldn't get the console just for that game. There has to be a decent library of exclusive games in order for me to drop that kind of money. Same is true for the PS4. I have absolutely no desire of getting a PS4 at this time. Infamous may be a cool game, but no way would I buy the system for that game. And the exclusive content on the PS4 at this time is lacking.

For Titanfall, no. If it were a new Halo game, possibly. I really don't want to have 2 consoles (PS4 owner), but the rumor of a Halo 2 remake has piqued my interest...slightly.
However, by that time, I'll be knee-deep into Destiny. And hopefully, it will be as good as I imagine it to be, which will fulfill my void-created-by-the-lack-of-halo-sci-fi-shooter needs.

Nope, I won't buy an X1 till it's cheaper than the PS4 and has a good 10 exclusive games worth playing (for me) since it'd be purely for exclusives. Given MS meager output, I'd say it'll have 10 good exclusives (well, good for me at least, I'm not interested in more Halo/Forza/Fable etc). by 2017 or 18 and by then, it should be pretty cheap. I'd never buy a console for just one game, especially not one I can get on my 360 or PC.
If I do end up buying Titanfall, I'll buy the superior version on PC, or the one my friends will be on (the 360). I see no reason to pick the X1. If I had $500 just lying around, I'd probably just buy my PC a new GPU instead of wasting it on an Xbox.

In fact, Origin is barely noticeable.
So long as we don't need to install a BATTLELOG WEB BROWSER PLUGIN to run the game, we'll be fine!
