Anyone else dangerously close to succumbing and picking up an Xbox One for Titanfall?

I would really like to have an X1 so I could play Titanfall, but I will absolutely not buy an X1 just so I can play Titanfall. Sorry, MS, but it's just not enough.

I like the title

"Anyone else dangerously close to succumbing and picking up an Xbox One for Titanfall?"

As if doing so is a bad thing.

Anyway, it's PC for me. In FPS, KB/M > controller

$560 + $40 for Live Gold can be dangerous for those with spouses to answer to...

How many tens of thousands exactly? You seem quite confident in saying there will be a significant bump - how large will it be from February to March in your opinion?

Well if its 30k then it's tens of thousands. I really don't know how much of a bump there will be.

Nope. I was a lot like you 360 last gen and PS4 now. I was always a BTB player. 8/8, 9/9 and now 32 vs 32 in BF4. 6v6 is a deal breaker for me.

Titanfall looks like the next Brink. Just a bunch of hype, flashy videos, and zero substance.

No. Titanfall is actually good. Sure, there are some people trying to make it sound like the Second Coming of Christ. But it actually is good.

But I expect it to be a long-lived MP game. It will a very fun game to come back to every now and then.

I'm not telling people to stop having fun. Stop projecting.

I just expected it to be something special after the near-tangible hype that was surrounding it.
That wasn't the case. Solid shooter perhaps, but I burned out on Call of Duty for good reason and nothing I've seen is pulling me in.
I understand why people would compare this to COD but this game plays quite a bit differently.

But I like to play my games on a 65" TV while sitting on my couch. Has someone invented a magical multimedia interface cable that will allow me to connect my PC to my TV?

Try one of these?

Buy a PC instead.

No, I'm not interested in the game.

Not sure why anyone would buy an X1 just for Titanfall considering it's also coming to two other platforms. It's not like the X1 version is the best version either.

I'm not buying Titanfall for the Xbone for the same reason i'm not buying any indie for the PS4: i have a PC. Games on that platform are cheaper and prettier.

After all the hype surrounding this game, it turned out to be fun enough for the few hours I played (PC), but certainly not something I'd purchase a console just to play even if my PC was not up to the task.

Looking back at E3 you'd of thought this game was going to revolutionise FPS and it wasn't just MS saying that. In actuality it hasn't strayed very far from the current standards at all.

You'll be right. I think Titanfall will double X1 sales for the week of it's release so it should boost from ~35k to 70k to 90k-ish, before it falls back down the week or two weeks after. I doubt it'll have the massive effect people are expecting though.

Yep, it's called a Hyper Dimensional Matrix Interface.

I hear some company called "Monster" sells 'em for super cheap!

;)

So you haven't actually played it?

It feels nothing like Call of Duty.

Gunplay feels like COD, and I mean that in a positive way. It's impressive that Respawn managed to catch that same tight COD feel with the controls, in an entirely different engine.

This must be a troll, hahahahaha. Excellent work. Loved playing Titanfall PC on my TV during the beta, felt totally viable with a 360 pad.

If Titanfall was coming out on PS4 I would consider maybe getting it in 12 months on sale, so no, I'm obviously not buying a $500 console just to play it.

Not really but it is the best reason I've seen yet to get a next gen console. I'm waiting until E3 but I will probably go with the PS4 in the end for the obvious reasons. Just waiting for Sony to deliver the goods with the exclusives. Hope Titanfall comes to mac otherwise I'll likely be waiting for the sequel.

Yeah right, that will never happen. You're forever stuck playing your PC on a 24" monitor, while sitting in your old wooden desk chair. Sucker

ZBone for life !

Titanfall looks like a fantastic game, but it's not worth that $500 + $60 investment.

Maybe in a year or so when the Xbox One has a more substantial library.

I have a 3 year old PC that will run Titanfall at max settings in 1440p, so no. Just wait and see if MS drops the price. You know Aaron Greenberg and the crew were crying at their desks last NPD, so it wouldn't surprise me if we saw a $100 price drop within the next year

Titanfall looks no different from Brink. Just a bunch of hype, flashy videos, and zero substance. I expect it to be a huge disappointment after the first couple weeks of hype wear off.

it has a lot of ideas from Brink, but the execution is far better. I really wanted to enjoy brink too, very unfortunate how that turned out

I was close to buying an X1, but after having some time to think I refuse to pay for a kinect. I'm way closer to building a PC for Titanfall. The specs I have in mind would actually cost less. We'll see though.

Not even close. I have a PC and the common sense to wait for a price drop/bugfixing. And anyone thinking this is a troll comment can suck it; there WILL be bugs and the price WILL drop within a month. For all the faults EA have, they are startlingly consistent.

On a more positive note, the beta was solid and I liked it and Respawn aren't DICE so there's that.

No, but I'm dangerously close to getting that $150 graphics card that plays it better than xbone, my PC would love that.

Lol no not even close. My PC ran the beta maxed flawlessly, and I'm not totally sure I'm even gonna buy THAT. if I get a One it'll be when the library is a lot more robust and there's a few must have exclusives, as in literally only available for the One. Until then quite happy with my PC as my "next gen" system.

I have a PC that runs it fine. However, I hate playing FPS on PC these days due to all the cheaters and no comfy couch.

So, I'm just going to get the 360 SKU.

I hope I never have to buy a Bone, unless they drop Kinect entirely, drop all the ads off the dashboard, and make a UI that is made to be navigated easily and not one that tries to make you look at as many ads as possible.

I took off the entire week... for Dark Souls 2. I might pick up Titanfall though while I'm off, but it will be on PC.

So nope.

I really liked the beta, I feel like I could have some fun with it.

That said, if I had 500 bucks to spend I would simply buy a PC so I wouldn't have to borrow my sister's to play it. Not worth buying an Xbone for it at all.

They started making these.

I'm not sure if they're proof of concept or an actual item for sale, but you could look into it. They're calling them HDMI cables. I'm not sure if they'll ever catch on but if they do there's a potential solution to that age old problem!

Ridiculous question, this comes out on both 360 and PC. And it runs, in all departments, superior on PC.
