Anyone else dangerously close to succumbing and picking up an Xbox One for Titanfall?

You need a long HDMI cord in your life.

Already have that covered, but I'm playing on a controller against people playing with KB/M. Tried it during the beta, and definitely noticed people being able to whip around on a dime and shoot me. Huge disadvantage.

And I'm not going to even attempt to use KB/M on the couch.

So 360 it is.

You already have a PS4 so you're basically paying $560 for Titanfall. If you must I would pick up an Xbone off Craigslist. I got mine brand new for $400 and my brother bought one slightly used for $350 with Cod Ghosts and an extra controller.

Great deals to be found on Craigslist.

Not really. Killer Instinct is worlds closer to making me want an XB1 than Titanfall, mostly on account of having a PC that could run it pretty well.

It baffles me that people still pretend Titanfall is an Xbox One exclusive. Whatever gets a buzz started, I guess.

And to answer the OP's question: no.

I finally picked up a ONE in anticipation for Titanfall, the BETA was hella fun and am very excited to get in and play the full game. Comes down to friends list, 360 was my home for online multiplayer. I picked up a PS4 on launch day and love it, but missed my friends on XBOX, the BETA for Titanfall brought us all back together and it was fun as hell and that was only 2 maps and one titan. Also Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5 are good fun games to hold you over in the meantime.

If all your friends bought XBO's, then all of this makes sense. But Xbox friends who have NOT bought into next gen yet can still do everything with their friends lists and everything on the 360 version of the game together.

I guess if there's enough pressure in certain friend groups to make the same move for the same version of the game and buy the same next gen hardware to play it together, then it makes perfect sense.

If that sexy titanfall xbox one came out with the game for $499 I would totally buy it. Since it won't happen, I will be getting it on PC.

no, not even close. That console is overpriced, weak and doesn't have PS plus. I can wait for Titanfall 2 on PS4. I'm more of a "realistic" FPS fan anyways...Killzone Shadowfall will quench my shoot robot thirst in the time being.

Couldn't be any further to be honest. I have zero reason to get an Xbone and Titanfall changes nothing and that's not even factoring in my PC. I just don't get the hype at all - horrible graphics/art, dumb bots and low player count. Probably doesn't help that there'll be no Australian servers at launch either.

I have an xbox one from last sunday because of titanfall, but not just that I also have one because I was able to get it for £300 day one edition from a cousin, as new.

It's also my first bluray player so it will get some good use.

I took off the entire week... for Dark Souls 2. I might pick up Titanfall though while I'm off, but it will be on PC.

So nope.

a week?

Last time I checked March was Dark Souls 2 Month. You should have taken off the entire month.

What are you? a casul?

Even if I had an interest in the game, I am sticking to my no console lifestyle. If I did break that rule, it would absolutely not be a Microsoft console after dealing with multiple defective 360s.

They started making these.

I'm not sure if they're proof of concept or an actual item for sale, but you could look into it. They're calling them HDMI cables. I'm not sure if they'll ever catch on but if they do there's a potential solution to that age old problem!

Yeah, I've got one of those. I went out looking for a display adapter that I can connect that into, and managed to score one. It's quite amazing, actually.

It allows me to do all kinds of cool things on my television, like Skype and watch Netflix and play Titanfall. I don't know how I could make it charge me a yearly fee for this, though.

To be fair, about as many people still pretend it's not a good game because it's not on some other platforms.

Yep. Ebay'ed towards the end of last year ahead of getting the PS4 at launch.

I don't game on PC, so that's not an option for me. Certainly if I did, I would definitely be picking it up there rather than spending $500 on an Xbox One.

I gotta tell ya, I was expecting some folks to be in the same camp as me. Granted, not a lot in the way or replies yet, but this certainly doesn't bode well for Microsoft.

Under this circumstance I can understand why you feel this way but man I couldn't imagine selling my 360. Deep library of games and system value after all this time wouldn't get a great return. In your case I would have held onto it and not purchase a next gen console yet and waited but hindsight 20/20 etc.

If you really want to play Titanfall and interested X1's future lineup than it should be a good purchase. I would still wait it out and see how the 360 port is, and wait until e3 and see the third and first party lineup going forward before jumping in

Why drop $500 for a XB1 when you can drop $149 for a new GPU that can play it at 1080p/60FPS with more graphic features enabled?

It takes more than a GPU to play PC games. The OP said they're not interested in PC gaming to begin with so the OP doesn't even have the mobo to take that GPU to begin with.

I'll wait for the Xbone to be a reasonable value proposition before I buy it. But Titanfall 2 for PS4 might be out by that point.

I played the beta a lot so I'm just going to wait for a price drop before picking up titanfall
pc
.

Making a $500+, 5 year decision based on one game in the launch window? Doesn't seems like sound logic.

As for Titanfall, I may pick it up for PC when it goes on sale. Given that it's a multiplayer only game, it's probably going to drop in price pretty quickly.

Trailers and gameplay videos may be alluring and all, but I never entrust only one game with the responsibility of swaying my decision to purchase a console entirely for that game. My rule of thumb is this: just in case, make sure there are at least five to ten games out on that platform before spending hundreds of dollars on it, because that one game you may expect to hold you over for a very long time can actually prove disappointing.

In short: I would never buy a product such as a game console simply for one game.

Edit: I forgot to mention that those five to ten games shouldn't just exist to me, but actually be games I want. That's what I meant to say!

I honestly don't know - I messaged a mod so he can decide if it's just me being paranoid...

Probably should have been step one. If they aren't shills then it was just needlessly hostile. We're a decent bunch, we don't need to do witch hunts.

Definitely not. Nothing against Titanfall just burnt out on multiplayer first person shooters.
It would take a few very special exclusive games and a price drop for me to consider a bone.
