Anyone else enjoying Overwatch but feel like it's missing something?

Needs more customization, characters, and maps/modes. There is basically 2 modes and that just doesn't fly for me in a MP game.

I would be proud as a developer if people were starting to feel tired of a game after spending 100 hours on it. Especially a game like this where the game is so simplified and condended down to its most basics, yet still manages to be fun.
It certainly caught me off guard. I never imagined I would play this game for 60-something hours.

It has very little depth in regards to mechanical skill, which is a pretty crucial aspect of an FPS. There's very little sense that you're ever getting better.

When you look at TF2, it's pretty easy to see its roots in Quake. When I look at Overwatch, I see its roots being in League of Legends.

EDIT: There's also the fact that 6v6 is the only format. TF2 pubs being 12v12 allows for far more room for bad players who want to play useless classes. In Overwatch, even the pubs don't allow for any dicking around lest you ruin the experience for the rest of your team.

So Overwatch is neither goofy enough for casual play, or serious enough for competitive play.

I can't alugn with anything in you post. It's honestly the opposite of how I feel.

What would be fantastic inclusion is to have some kind of Map Editor. A forgeworld of sorts where we can go in, make maps and custom games with weird objectives and what not.

It is like the custom games in WC3 or SC. It doesn't take away from the main game but it allows for some new and interesting games within it.

Edit. Official content is great as well of course.

I love the game, BUT:

-Loot should be fixed in some way. The money you earn from duplicates it's fucking bullshit. Also there must be more skins and weapons. Each character has like 3 different skins with color variations. That's fucking bullshit.
-Competitive needs a rework. The penalty you get from teams that are 1 level lower than yours is stupid. Getting punished because someone left the game is bullshit. Pretty much all the exp and level system needs a rework.
-For new maps: please don't rely in chokepoint after chokepint. Seriously, some of them are fucking awful (Anubis hhngggggg).
-Make a permanent Team Deathmatch for those who want to play Call of Overwatch.
-And yes, maps and heroes need to come ASAP. I'll never get tired of playing Zarya or Zenyatta, but something new to try would be nice.

It's funny, because for as much shade as I threw yesterday about legs and longevity, when Ana was announced this morning I was like "YO LET'S GO TEAM GRANGRAN! I'M LEAVING WORK FUCKING EARLY! MY OVERWATCH HAS BEGUN!"

So yeah, just a more steady stream of new content. Maybe a surprise once a month drop.

I am still enjoying it but it's getting a bit too repetitive.

Used to be able to put in numerous hours everytime I launched it up, but now I can only play for like 30mins before I get tired and exit out.

She's out next week, you were saying?

Seems like they sped up their schedule. I wonder if it had to do with the growing sentiment that people wanted more content? It definitely wasn't from the contentment of fanboys. So hey, that's the case you're welcome!

Progression. It just feels repetitive. It needs new weapons and abilities to unlock. I know it won't ever get them but that's what it could do with imo.
I really don't get this mindset..

Back in my day we played Quake and fucking loved it.. there was no weapon unlocks and shit just a well made game to test our skills.

It's like we replaced our own ability to get better with weapon and level shit. Then we get bored once that runs out.. it's sad.

It just doesn't have the depth to keep me coming back for more.

No items, no skill builds, no specialization, no in-game progression of any kind. You're doing the same things against the same opponents every game. Not having to worry about a character getting a key item and how to play against it, or wondering if the opponent went a certain skill order or specialization led me to uninstall it after just a week.

Sounds like you want it to be a moba.

I guess. I just want it to have some complexity outside of me getting better at twitch reactions. It's just not rewarding.

It leads to a balanced game, but a boring one to me. Part of the fun of these more complex games are patches to shake things up that open up new options. This game will never have that.

Overwtach isn't Quake, or even TF2.

There's a lower ceiling on how good you can be solo with aiming.

New modes.
I can understand that the more different the mode, the more balancing issues you can have with all these different abilities. But only two? I'm sure a couple more would viable.

I love that all characters are unlocked from start. I'm fine with skins and customization for unlocks, but not gameplay elements.

Three modes.

Quick Play
Competitive
Weekly Brawls (which change every week.. the one going on in the PTR is pretty great right now)

The lack of communication and overall skill and awareness of the average teammate prevents me from coming back to it often. It's just too infuriating for me.

But this isn't Quake, where even the best player hasn't hit the skill ceiling and can improve every game. Overwatch has an incredibly low individual skill ceiling for an FPS, and it doesn't take long to get the feeling that there's nothing left to improve.

Content ? Because the game feel really, really, really repetitive now, Blizzard need to put up some maps and new heroes ASAP.

I'd say maps as well, and some more ingenuity in regards to level design in general. The gameplay is there, the style and substance is rich, what maps we have are a pleasure to look at and explore, and it sports a more lively and diverse cast than many deep RPGs, I enjoy the cosmetics and progression (I've already purchased something like $30 in coins or whatever) - but, after about three hours, it kind of feels like I'm playing the same map with a different shade of paint on it.

I like how in this thread you have people slamming Overwatch for following the new school of FPS design with unlockables and grinds, and at the same time you have people slamming Overwatch for not providing enough progression and new things to chase.

Got bored with it really quickly. But maybe thats because in the beginning i was really good but now everybody is better than me because i dont play enough.

Well that sucks I haven't bought it yet and this is lowering my chances now.

Maybe that's what the game is really missing then...
