Anyone else frequenting Off Topic more than Gaming?

Been doing that for the past year. Moving into a stage in my life where I don't have as much time to game. As a result I frequent off topic more than I do gaming.

I used to stick around gaming, but OT is more random and interesting. I do have specific threads in the gaming side I like to frequent, but I just skim to see if there is any relevant news that I may find interesting, otherwise I am usually in the OT.

I make a couple of posts in the Gaming side every few years when a new Zelda game is out.

I would consider posting more if a new Mother game is announced, but when will that happen?

I post almost exclusively in community sections now. I kind of like the slower, quieter pace over there.
I still read and post in some threads on the gaming and off-topic sides, but nothing like I used to.

Yeah... my interest in video games has declined significantly over the past 3 years. I think that's why I mainly stay in the OT now.

I'm more into art, design, and self improvement these days.

Joined for gaming. Now I really only read OT.

A lot of the gaming stuff just seems redundant. Sales threads get old. Threads about PS4 and new XBOX just make me realize how little I care anymore.

Usually only pay attention to FGC stuff over there.

I started on GAF almost exclusively in Gaming and came over here after a year or so and now spend the majority of my time in OT. I do most of my posting here but I do check the Gaming side for headlines once or twice a day.

Me. Sometimes when I accidentally click on the gaming link I look around, I don't even know what they're talking about anymore.

I will be an OT snob til the day I'm banned. I'm familiar with way more posters here, know what to expect, and generally know how to act.

Gaming side is a warzone. I not gonna take shit from some kid with a moe-blob avatar. It's also the easiest place to get bant.

I spend more time in OT than Gaming these days. I just don't have the desire to white knight the 360 while only playing PS3 games like I used to.

I spend more time here, there's more consistently interesting stuff to talk about here rather than gaming where there's a lot of niche threads.

For a bit but the OT has been plagued with lots of shitty stupid threads lately like how to cook ramen, KFC opinions, curvature of your cock, loser casanova mindfucking and how to rent an apartment.

I check out gaming maybe once every two months and never post there any more. I kept trying to get myself back into games, even going to the extent of hyping myself up, but it just didn't work.

I find the 10+ threads on comics / comic movies on the front page to be more annoying, but to each their own.

You didn't spell banned right.

Started off on gaming side, and I only go over there if there's an event going on. Gaming side has it's own culture that I don't really get. So if you're not used to that culture it's easy to get banned.

Gaming discussion except for when it comes to a game I really obsess over like Halo always seemed weird to me. I'd rather just game if I can then discuss gaming in general. My gaming habits have really hit the skids though, my apathy for gaming in general is at an all time high.

Going against the trend: No, it's about equal I'd say. Although it's easier to spend time in OT as it always has something interesting to read/post about compared to gaming.

Yup. OT Community gets about 80% of my time, Gaming OT (Halo thread) gets 10% and another 10% is split between main Gaming and OT.

OT.

I peek in the gaming side once in a while to see what's going on there, but that's about it. Most of the time I'm barely aware of its existence.

I still enjoy gaming, but I don't play games day one or month one, so I miss the discussion. I play when I want to play. For example, I'm a big Mass Effect fan, but I've yet to play ME3. I can wait.

Been on gaming side less lately, but that's partially because there's nothing major going on right now. E3 and the last half of the year will change that, but I'm kinda in the gaming doldrums right now.

Being so busy doesn't help.

I'm getting less and less interested in gaming. I mostly stick to the franchises I'm most familiar with and ignore most everything else. Lack of interest. Last game I played and enjoyed was Mass Effect 3. Not much else has held my interest recently.

I came for the gaming on Day 1 and by Day 3 stayed almost exclusively in the OT. Sometimes the gaming side feels like a bunch of monkeys just running around screaming while throwing fecal matter at each other.

I've lost almost complete interest in the gaming side. I'll browse that side once in a while, but I don't know what the fuck is going on.

It varies for me. Sometimes I'm not in the mood for video game discussion so I'll browse OT that day instead. But other times I don't feel like reading about real-world news so those days I browse the gaming side.

I hardly ever go to gaming side, only when extremely bored.
Every thread over always starts off with like 3 pages of the same old tired jokes, and then a debates inevitably happens that defines abject pointlessness.

A lot of the threads are just so lame too. It's like people over there are racking their brains to think of a reason to make a new thread about something, and then seize upon the smallest, most unworthy thing, which invariably spawns a 50 page discussion about god knows what.

There's more community in the OT side. Plus, as others have mentioned, not a lot happening in gaming to really discuss. I have my Dota thread but that's about it at the moment.

Which is funny, since I considered OT the scum of the universe before I joined. All the zany and craziness seemed a little too much. Oh, how times do change.

Almost never these days, maybe just to check in once a week maybe

Arma II - Day Z Thread (thats about it these days)

I just don't give a damn about it much anymore, gaming (dunno why)

Personally it's time for a New Gen.... (like 3 years ago)

other then that OT is where it's @ (to me That is the REAL GAF)

went to two GAF Meets in NYC

pretty cool

looking forward to more GAF NYC meets

started lurking on the gaming side (because that's the one this forum is know for), but I became a bit tired of it over the years. OT wins by default because of the much wider range of topics. That said, I still occasionally browse the gaming side for news, but I hardly click on any threads or post there.

Right now definitely... The NBA playoffs, Flagship smartphones releasing, and a very interesting time for the Movie box office. Sprinkle in a few TV series official threads and we got ourselves a stew going.

But Diablo III's launch will probably stick a fork in that here pretty soon.
