Yeah this. And not everyone who dresses like that or looks like that is a douchebag. I mean, I don't dress like that at all. But he doesn't really come off as a try hard or anything to me. The way he talked to his brother in the truck and stuff was pretty cool. I like him so far. Def a nice change from having a bald guy.

In that regard a lot of these type of games should learn from Saints Row.

He looks like a cocky bastard, but he is actually able to pull off the good looking alternative dude that is so badass that all the girls swoon over him, IMO. I guess he gets taken down a peg or two during the story, grows as a result of it and shows actual character development.

If not, I don't mind. In real life I probably wouldn't want to hang out with Mr smugface, but it's a game where you kill lots of people. A dick as main character that enjoys beating up The Man with his super powers makes player actions less disconnected from the story than another normal guy that is forced into a bad spot and kills a billion people while being totally conflicted and stuff,

SR doesn't take itself seriously. Infamous does.

SR doesn't actually try to tell a story. Infamous does try (whether they succeed...eh).

They're trying for different things, SR is hilarious and amazing and I love it!

The most striking thing about the Infamous games for me has always been how the main character (and most of the members of the supporting cast) is a giant douche. It just oozes off of him. I'm not surprised that they continue the tradition.
