Anyone else trading their Wii U for a PS4 preorder?

The whole sharing thing seems neat, but mii verse still seems better to me, if I were to compare the two (even though they really seem like very different services). I like mii verse for the simplicity. Short messages and little hand drawn doodles appeal to me more than watching videos of a thousand people playing the same game. That's just me, though.

What a stupid question. I think people bought the Wii U system for exclusive (lol Rayman) 3rd party titles and Nintendo games, and there's a ton coming this year including Pikmin 3, Project X, W101, Bayo2 etc. plus games like Smash 4, Zelda U, RETRO's game and a 3D Mario to be shown.

I know you did it on purpose.

Hell no. There will be some Nintendo-exclusive games that I would want to play, and depending on the game I might choose the Wii U version solely because of being able to play on the gamepad without the tv.

I will probably wait on the PS4 though. Console launches are so expensive. Will usually run at least $500 after the console, game, and whatever else.

I'm excited about the PS4. I'm enjoying my Wii U. I don't see why the two have to be mutually exclusive. Buying a new console half a year from now doesn't mean I have to trade in my old one.

In fact, just tonight I found out that Watch Dogs is coming to Wii U, and went also went ahead and bit the bullet on the Best Buy buy one get one 50% deal with some pre orders. While also getting pretty hyped for inFamous, Knack, and Deep Down.

No, I actually feel better. I get stuff from Platinum games and Ps4 owners will get Diablo 3 and sequels.

Well, the Wii U will also be getting sequels up the wazoo, along with the predictable franchise entries like Zelda, Mario, Metroid, etc. I don't see the difference really. The Wii U already is flush with ports/sequels. That was primarily the launch if I recall.

Playstation 4 will also get Platinum Games titles as well.

I don't know how people could feel better really. But to each their own--I don't feel better or worse though. I own a Wii U and only have 2 games for it (Mario U and Nintendoland) and I'm already a bit tired of it as it just feels dated so far. Wouldn't mind packing it up and getting some top dollar while I still can. But I have kids, so who knows.

Nintendo + PC here.

Need more info before deciding if I'll get one of the others, maybe OUYA (or cheap android device) for media streaming to other TVs.

Feel much better about my WiiU purchase now. Did not see anything new that was being offered by the PS4 at all... unless you count facebook/twitter integration.

Same here. It made me feel BETTER about my purchase. The Wii-U is much more my speed.

never changes.

Nope not at all. So excited for exclusive Wii U content!

Ah yup. Even if 3rd party efforts are a hill of beans, 1st party content ALWAYS delivers. PS4 may sit nicely next to it and my PC if it ends up getting some worthwhile exclusives and cuts to sub $350.

It certainly made the Wii U as a system seem dated. Miiverse suddenly looks completely last-gen. I don't think the games were particularly swaying though. They looked nice, but it was all sort of more of the same. I think E3 will be more exciting in that regard.

So far, I feel like I *need* a PS4 for all of the awesome features, but I don't quite feel that way for the games shown yet. Looking forward to more reveals.

Miiverse looks last gen compared to what exactly? It's different.

Same here. It made me feel BETTER about my purchase. The Wii-U is much more my speed.

It's probably because the curtain is lifted on the magical promised land of next gen.

Wii U + PS4 is my future

Starting to regret mine a bit. I'll wait and see for now, but I'm really desperate to be a one-console man, and if MS can't impress, I may have to go the Sony route. It goes double when you consider how double dead the Wii U is going to be in New Zealand.

No way in Hell would I trade a Wii U in for the PS4

I didn't see anything in Sony's announcement that "impressed" me. The Wii U Gamepad and off-TV play destroys buying a Vita. No backwards compatibility; I can promise you their streaming solution will require you to be pay for Playstation World.

I'm not impressed by hardware, I will be buying a new PC in a year or two. I am not impressed by multi plats as I will buy those on PC.

Also the $300 Wii U will look like a bargain compared to the definite $500+ price of this thing.

Well I decided against purchasing one due to the PS4. Does that count?

Yes. The way I see it, whatever the PS4 price is, I can slice the $350 off it. I was worried external forces were going to pressure me into getting one, but Sony has given me the will to fight against the boob-led-tyranny.

PS4 reveal has basically made me closer to buying a WiiU. None of the games shown were interesting to me, bar watch_dogs which is coming to other platforms anyway. PS4 seems very western-oriented, which is fine, but not really for me. Wii U on the other hand has at least 3 games I want this year so with the PS4 not giving me a reason NOT to buy the WiiU, I guess it's time to dip.
((I'm sort of assuming M$ is not going to do what it did last gen and try and revive it's Rare IPs and moneyhat JRPGS, because I could consider that.))

It's all about the software and the games. Nintendo has quality stuff coming out later this year and will likely announce more at E3. So I'm gonna keep mine and buy a PS4. No use in getting rid of one, to get the other.

The combined purchase price of the PS4 and Vita indicates to me that not many people will take advantage of the WiiU like functionality of those systems.

Nope there will be games I want to play on wiiU. No point in trading in and getting it again later. Gotta see the price point on the ps4 and if they make good on all these claims. Looks promising though.

Wario, you don't have to open the thread with that elaborated text, we know you just want to laugh at people.

BUT ANSWERING YOUR QUESTION

No, to be honest Wii U has more exclusives than PS4closure and some of those third-party games are even coming to Wii U!

Of course this is all going to change in a few years, like when Assassin's Creed 4 and Resident Evil 7 hit the PS4 and not the Wii U.
