Anyone else trading their Wii U for a PS4 preorder?

Nintendo and Sony consoles (minus the Vita) are so good together though. It covers nearly all the bases.

Yup. I imagine Wii U + PS4 would be more than enough for the entire gen. You're always gonna miss something unless you're able to buy everything though (or play at a friend's).

First thing in the morning tomorrow I will. I can always get Wii U again when the new Zelda game comes out. That's the only game I'm looking forward to anywayz.

Or should I just try selling it on craigslist first?

Vita/iOS lovers who trash Nintendo's graphical capabilities are an interesting lot.

You are comparing a console gif to a handheld. We would hope that a console that released in 2012 will have better graphical capabilities than a handheld that released in 2011 or a phone device. Vita will never be able to achieve X's graphics and iphone won't either for a long time, but there are plenty of PS3 and 360 games that have comparable graphics.

If you weren't talking about WiiU graphics compared to vita and ios then I misunderstood you and apologize.

If it weren't like pulling teeth buying new consoles in my house or if I could sell it at a markup on eBay like you could months after the Wii launch then possibly. As it stands I'm getting a lot of mileage out of Skyward Sword and Xenosaga so it's still worth it to me.

I will probably sell my PS3 to help absorb the cost though.

Count me in the WiiU/PS 4 tag team owner's alliance.

Durango is gonna job hard.

Watcha gonna do when PS 4/WiiU owners run wild over you
Durango?

Eh, I honestly might consider it depending on the holiday releases, and then pick it up again in the future when there's a price drop and/or stellar bundle. My reasoning:

Put Wii U forward toward PS4 with a nice little Gamestop bonus (games I might keep depending on trade-in value with bonuses) and get a system I'm much more interested in. I LOVE Nintendo Land multiplayer... but some of my friends have it, and I'll still have my Wii and controllers. I'll still get to have a blast with that. And I'll pick up Rayman Legends on another system. And I can play Wind Waker on Dolphin :P (Edit: Yes, I know it looks different). Really, they'd have to announce 3D Mario and/or Smash for this Holiday in order for me to keep it. I fucking love Bayo and Mario Kart and whatnot, but I'm a lot more interested in checking out some of the awesome independent offerings that PS4 will have, maintaining my PS+ service bonuses, having a next-gen console with better graphics that also won't block used games, etc etc.

I would definitely get a Wii U again later. Nintendo has reeeaaallly let me down over the last few years in so many ways, and I definitely jumped the gun on the Wii U. I DON'T regret the purchase, but for the sake of value and thriftiness, I'm considering it depending on what happens with E3.

I am not going to Day 1 Durango just like I didn't the 360. I like MS first party stuff just fine (never used Kinect though, and I'm really interested to see what happens in the future here), but it's their XBLA games that I really enjoy.

Anyway... all that said, it really depends on E3, and I'm betting Nintendo is going to convince me to keep my Wii U... Which just means I'll have to buy a PS4 day 1 without the trade-in discount. C'est la vie.

I raise you the new Killzone gif!

I always find it weird that people think X is something graphically impressive.

Wii U + PS4 is the way of the next gen.

Wii U = you get those awesome nintendo first parties.

PS4 = you get connectivity with friends and new features + some pretty cool graphics and new IPs

The edit wasn't about the previous part of the post.

If you weren't talking about WiiU graphics compared to vita and ios then I misunderstood you and apologize.

Not specifically, no. Was just referring that the few I've seen that love/adore/worship/want to marry the Vita and love iOS games, but can't stand the graphics on Wii U/3DS are an interesting lot. Because they are. :P

Joke thread? Joke thread.

*nods*

It's Wario64's schtick. Also interesting to read the posts of those taking it seriously. :lol

The OP is talking about trading a Wii-U into Gamestop or something right? Because if so, wouldn't that only generate about half the money it would take to get a PS4?

I've had a good time with Sony+Nintendo last gen.

I guess it's going to stay that way for me.

edit:

and who the hell trades in hardware anyway?,

Traded in my PS3 for the Wii U(gs had a 100% trade-in) and plan on picking up PS4 day one. I am really excited about what this gen will bring.

Nintendo and Sony consoles (minus the Vita) are so good together though. It covers nearly all the bases.

Especially this gen when PS4 is probably getting the superior third party games thanks to being more powerful+easy to program for. I'm in for Wii U+PS4 (not much of a PC gamer).

And this is why I want to play Watch Dogs and not Killzone based on what we've seen this event. Other sweet games announced too, but this is basically comparing an on-rail sequence (not even a bit of roaming in a closed environment !) where you're hanging on to a rope to an open-world game (and a vast one at that).

I might go PS4U this gen. Don't have a WiiU yet cause there is fuck all I want to play on it. If X is any good I would buy one just for that. Also I am not ruling out MS. I want to see what everyone's hand is before I would ever choose. My PC will hold me over till then.

Only Watch_Dogs interested me on that event. And its coming to Wii U. And Wii U plays Nintendos games, so 100% NOPE. Never. Not in a million years!

I don't have a Wii U, but I want one. The PS4 show showed me that a PS4 + WiiU combo could be the way to go next gen, until the nextBox (or whatever we're calling it today) get's a price cut.

Watch Dogs would like to have a word with you considering that's open world as well.

Yeah, but I'm honestly not gonna not play X just because it's not true next gen or w/e. It looks good to me. It's an RPG. Watch Dogs isn't and may not even be a game I like. It's def all about the gameplay/fun factor in the end.

N64 + :(
GameCube + PS2
Wii + PS3
Wii U + PS4

This has worked well for me the previous two generations. I need a Nintendo console for Nintendo games (and other exclusives). Though through each generation, more and more of my time and money has been invested in the PlayStation side than the Nintendo side. I wonder if that will continue with the next gen.
