DS2 is such a downgrade form Bloodborne. Never.
LOL right. Downgrade as in more difficult and offering a ton of different play styles versus BB, maybe.

Don't think many hate it. It's just the language that muddies it up. Some say "worst Souls game" which is just another way of saying "least favorite Souls game."
LOL right. Downgrade as in more difficult maybe.
I suppose that is the case for many. I don't know, it just felt like an absolute content-packed Souls game to me, but with it's own distinct vibe and atmosphere that I love just as much as Demon's and Dark Souls 1. There really is not a 'least favorite' one for me. *shrugs*

Lol, and what part of DS2 was difficult exactly? I'm honestly trying to remember a single boss that was an issue.
That's subjective. There are some things that I feel Bloodbourne does much much better than Dark Souls 2, but there are some things that I feel it does so much worse. And there are some things in which they are bad for completely opposite reasons.
And while, yes, controlling your character even at the fastest speed in Dark souls 2 is slower than the locked on quick step in bloodbourne, only about 2 of the bosses in Bloodbourne are faster than the bosses in Dark Souls 2.
And having worse combat, worse bosses and worse music and worse hitboxes. But I guess some people enjoy boring mage builds spamming spells from a distance. DS2 is fine on its own but compared to BB it is not that good. Coming from BB to DS2 is going to be rough as hell.
My plan is to finish BB, then go back to Dragon Age which I never got very far in, then DS2 on PS4 when the price drops.

Difficulty with regards to Souls bosses is so subjective that it's not a legitimate measure of anything.
Yup, they do unfortunately. I actually did a mage build my second time through that game but gave up about halfway through. What a bore
So you decide to cheese your way through the game and use that as a metric? Right.
i'm not sure that i can go back to a classic souls game at all
Yeah I still dont see the appeal of a mage build, It sucks so bad. It is anthithesis to what made souls combat great.
I'll get it when it's the price of the dlc since I already bought the game day one when it released. I played it more than the other souls games simply due to sheer variety and a really cool ng+. Plus the multiplayer worked and was fun as hell.
They should make the next Souls game about Monks who use just their fists and remove any and all build choices to distill it down to the pure mechanics that BB champions feel make it a superior game. I mean any build variety takes that away and we wouldn't want other people to have options because that negatively impacts ones own playthrough.
Yeahp I bought all the souls, save for Demons, and Dark Souls 2 was the only multiplayer that actually worked on release. My friend and I played right off the bat. I remember not getting dark souls to work until multiple patches and halfway through the game.At least Dark Souls 2 worked on release for summoning and the covenants were fleshed out. I can't say the same for Dark Souls or Bloodborne (whose covenants are pointless).
No. In fact, I don't want to burn out on Souls games, so I'm taking a break from them after Bloodborne and I'll pick up Dark Souls II on sale later in the year.

Why would you stop the superior and more polished game to play DS2?
Stop playing Bloodborne?
Wah?
I can't comprehend.

Because game enjoyment is subjective.
Yes sure, I guess it's mostly BB setting what turns many people off?
