There is a Marvel and DC version of "God" out there... I remember doing a search for a fight between DC's God and Marvel's God, and the resuls were... pretty much as I expected. It would be a stalemate :lol

Ha. I was going to use TOAA but that seems to be in argument that TOAA can rule over Marvel and DC universies, including ours.

If Darkseid stood against Galactus, then I will go with him unless Apocalypse has a similar feat. I haven't kept up with comics in years.

By the end of Final Crisis, Darkseid had essentially become DCverse God of Evil soooooooo I'm going to go with the God of Evil who managed to "kill" Batman, over some dude who gets beat up by the X-Men when they're not crying about racism or whatever.

Darkseid. His death almost dragged the entire DC universe into oblivion. Apocalypse is a genocidal blue lipped egyptian with a giant A on his belt.

Also, this thread needs a better Darkseid pic:

Man, the only way you could pick Apocalypse in this is if you've only read X-Men comics. Darkseid is a fucking god who can use the Omega Sanction to send you into infinite lifetimes of torture just by looking at you funny. He's got an entire Hell-planet of evil gods at his command. He took out fucking Batman when he was only at half power.

Apocalypse gets clowned by Jubilee.

This fight would be over in 5 minutes.

Darkseid DYING almost destroyed the DC Universe. That's fucking insanity. He almost dragged REALITY into hell with him.

Darkseid for sure. Also, LOL at people thinking Superman could beat Goku. I'm the biggest Superman fan there is, but seriously, you need to get a clue.

This isn't even a match. Darkseid would waste apocalypse's blue lipped ass. Thanos, annihilus, or hell even the purple man would be an appropriate enemy

Is this Superman vs Goku thing a joke? I'm a fan of both and I pretty sure Superman would win that one. Goku gets hurt when a rock hits him.

Oh yeah and Darkseid wins this fight because Apocalypse is a punk.

well how do the x-men normally defeat apocalypse?

I mean I somewhat know how the JLA/superman stops darkseid once in a while.

Apocalypse got pwned by Jubilee.

Darkseid nearly wiped out half the DC universe when he died.

Clearly, Apocalypse would win.

Apocalypse isn't on the same level.

One has the universe as his base of operations, the other is stuck on a planet. Darkseid would laugh at Apocalypse before smashing him. Thanos would be a better match-up against Darkseid.

And what's this bs about Darkseid being able to take on Galactus? :lol
Galactus beat the shit out of Darkseid, there was no stalemate. Apok had no energy to be consumed, so Galactus just left.

Isn't Galactus a fundamental part of the universe that consumes energy because it has to keep the universe in balance?

Something like that I guess, from time to time he says he's only performing a necessary function or whatever. That there's a meaning to killing worlds like he do, it's not just for the sake of his own survival.

I find it hilarious.

Thanos is Marvel copying Darkseid, and then there's Mongul who is DC copying Thanos.

Anyway...

Santa > Darkseid > Jobocalypse

Hey, remember back when I started the whole Superhero/Supervillain Round Robin?

And then Wolverine lost.

Then I shut that contest down.

Because you're all a bunch of babies that don't understand ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!

Of all the Pocy pics, you choose this one?

I won't have my Jean Grey sullied in such a manner...here she is psychically ripping his essence apart from Cyclops

Yes, Galactus must consume energy (or planets that can host life) in order to survive. In doing so, he performs a necessary need for the universe and is part of its natural order.

I'm not much of a comic book supermen in tights reader can anybody point me to recommended reading of Darkseid. He sounds cool.

Also Galactus and Thanos character seems interesting what should I read?

I say this as a mainly Marvel fan, but there is no way in hell Apocalypse could stand up to Darkseid. Just none in the least. The Darkseid beating Batman is relative, too, because the only person (so, y'know, not Galactus or somesuch) from the Marvel Universe I can think of off the top of my head who could win would have to employ the 'infinite prep time' clause--that's right, I'm thinkin' about Doom.

If you wanted an extremely pointless vs. fight, it'd be Batman (Bruce Wayne version) versus Doctor Doom. Both of their strengths come from the 'planning out every aspect and not committing yourself to a weekend position,' which means if Batman won it'd just end up being a Doombot, and neither party would likely commit to a location that would offer them a disadvantage. Guh.

Darkseid beats apocalypse.
goku beats superman.
lain beats haruhi
flash beats accelerator
Yukari beats everyone everywhere.

It's true. Doctor Doom got defeated by the Marquis of Death, thrown back in time, eaten by giant sharks and survived. He then changed every particle in his body so the Marquis of Death wouldn't recognise him, became his apprentice and, after millions upon millions of years, learned his ways, only to finally rise up and defeat him after the Fantastic Four had him weakened. And now he's apparently a bajillion times more powerful that he was before...

Comic books. They just make sense.

If you can get them for a decent price I'd suggest all four Jack Kirby 4th World Omnibuses. After that I have a really hard time recommending anything because every author who touches 4th world stuff seems intent on turning it into their own version while at the same time attempting to maintain Kirby's version, and IMO it's just constant failure because the plot armor has to be added and removed constantly. By the end of Kirby's work he had the 4th World pretty well mapped out, although Mr. Miracle was a bit odd and the "graphic novella" The Hunger Dogs was kinda eh due to various reasons (given in the omnibuses).

There's a lot of "product of the times" stuff present in 4th world and while I agree that characters getting modernized can be useful and good, stuff like what was done for a lot of the secondary characters in Final Crisis just smacked of Identity Crisis laziness. The Mr. Miracle part of 7 Soldiers was good, though.

For modern Galactus, while he wasn't the main character, I really enjoyed the recent Annihilation event. If you can get the three hardbacks they contained a bunch of supplementary information on the characters. Thanos is in it too, but I'm not familiar with him outside of punching him in arcade games; I don't know if there are collections of him but if there are I'm guessing it's the Infinity Gauntlet stuff.

Good match up, but by a very small margin I'll go with Apocalypse for now.
Ok, sounds like I was wrong. Really wrong. Like this thread isn't even debatable in any universe wrong and it was a total mismatch.

I'll take the blame, but lets redo the op and start with something that won't come to consensus in the 1st 2 pages of the thread.
