I don't think it's sad. Apple just invented another way to interact with your phone. I think it's brilliant. Now you don't have to open each app to see if there's any activity or updates. You can just look at the "notifications bar." It's brilliant, even the name is cool. It's like a Genius Bar for Notifications.

Is this a joke post? "Now you don't have to open each app to see if there's any activity or updates", really? Yeah, it's nice, and it's something Android (and WP, for that matter, albeit in a different way) has been doing for years. Apple just moved it to the notification shade. Which might be a good idea, although it seems to me like that space could get pretty cluttered. I want fast and clean access to my actual notifications.

I turn all notifications off, for everything. Shit is annoying. Texts and phone calls are the only thing I want a nudge about thanks very much, I'll check whatsapp, FB, twitter, etc of my own accord.

I remember checking my email for the first time after signing up to FB and it was fucking spammed with FB notifications. What's the point? Urgh.

Exactly. I love Apple and their products but I hate how they have all these "revolutionary" ideas that have been around for a long time. They might implement them better than other companies but other than that, it's nothing new.
