Been trying to figure out if the story about Bandai Namco opening up their 80's video game properties to outside developers is real. It's dated the 31st, and it's not too different from what Square Enix is doing with some of their old properties, so it seems reasonable. The difference here is there's some big stuff like Galaga and Pac-Man available for developers that qualify.

Remember guys, don't get banned for something stupid! Here on GAF:
- It's OK to have ONE April fools thread like this one.
- Posting a new thread dedicated to one single April fools seems to be frowned upon
- Posting an April Fools and try to pass it as legitimate news will get you banned.

Disclaimer: I'm no mod, I'm just posting what I remember from previous years.

The gif of Daigo pressing all those button on that arcade stick just made me die of laughter not to mention those testimonials, too funny

Imagine if a game was to be announced on April Fool's Day, only to find out its a legitimate announcement.
Has that, or anything similar, happened before?

Considering Nintendo Direct is tomorrow, it's possible Nintendo might pull it off.

Looking forward to Capcom's new Megaman game trailer with genuine gameplay footage and release date to see it cancelled at the end of the day and pics of how they delete the actual build they did for the trailer.

Very first Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. Announced very close to April 1st, then left quiet for a while. Then it turned out there was no joke about it.

Saints Row IV (back when it was an expansion known as "Enter the Dominatrix") qualifies. The giant Saints Flow can monster and the aliens were the focus, and people that it was a prank, until they revealed a month later it was real.

Wait, really? Oh wow.

Yes, French Bread (known as Watanabe Seisakusho in those years) was making Queen of Heart 2001 when they make the joke about a Tsukihime fighting game for April Fools, in fact Melty Blood was made with the same engine as QOH2001. The same story with Gleam of Force, it started as a joke.

Gotta love French Brench and their games. They also made Glove on Fighting right? And I miss playing Gleam of Force.
