Are you happy with your given name?

Can't complain. "James" isn't exactly an original name, but I think my parents gave me and my brothers normal names because our last name is so weird (It's pronounced like cuckoo).

My parents didn't know what to call me, so they gave me a temporary name until they could change it. They argued and argued and finally my dad looked at a random electronic, and said "We'll name him THAT until we change it!"

They never changed it.

My name is Taperecorder.

My name is Michael.

I'm not entirely happy with it because I'm always turning around or having a split second reaction where I think some random person is yelling my name.

I've got a few names I go by. Benjamin, full name, is alright. When I hear someone call me Benjamin I know that I'm either 1) in trouble 2) getting my fuck or 3) dealing with a family member so its kind of nice as a "heads up this is the situation you're in" type thing. Ben is what most people call me and its easy enough. I hate hate hate Benny, I get called this very rarely, reserved for older people who know me, younger siblings, and a few girlfriends have called me that to piss me off.

Some people I know have specific nicknames for me. My Uncle Dan calls me Benno. My cousin calls me Benjammin'. My mom calls me Benji or Boobear.

Its a cool name because its not very common but I do tire of all the nicknames. Oh, and the worst was in middle school where i was known as BenGay. Never heard the end of that, damn that was a lame joke.

My real name is Ariel. I sometimes get people who say "lolol you have a girl's name".

I love my name.

I know that feel. My middle name is Angel which is a male name in latin america but if I go to the states it's a woman's name

Damn you merikuh!

I know it can also be used for men

Yeah, I am. Mikael. Swedish version of Michael, though pronounced differently.

But most people just know me as Micke. It's fucking hilarious getting English-speaking people to pronounce it. Everyone ends up with "Mi-KAY" or "Miiickeeeeyyy". Or "Me-queeeee".

My first name is Anastasios, or Tassos for short.

A lot of people have trouble pronouncing my name, but I like it.

Yup. Adam is fine. Not super common so its all good.

My middle name is David.

Adam David sounds pretty good I think but who uses a middle name anyway.

I'm completely happy with my given name, Erik, despite knowing so many Erics (and a few Eriks for that matter). I think not having to share your name with 10 other people you see often is a plus but that's my fault anyway I guess. Also I go by my last name whenever I can get away with it. Almost named Lars so I suppose I got off easy (no offense intended to anyone with that name).

Erik is also the fuck-awesome version of Eric, and over in North America anyway it's far less common. I love it.

Edmond's a nice enough name I guess. Love our family name though. Dantès just rolls off the tongue.

Shut it down. This is the coolest name ever. We can't go anywhere higher from here.

It's odd with a capital T.

It's ok but it's also a mess in Japanese. They can't deal with words that don't end in a vowel so it becomes toddo.

Yes, my name (Arvin) is unique (even if I've met quite a few impostors in my time. I absolutely love my name as well as being glad I wasn't name something generic. Especially something Indian-generic (my ethnicity).

I don't like it when people call me by my full first name, which is Timothy. I'll usually "correct" them and say Tim. Love my middle name and usually go by it online and with friends. My last name is okay, if not common.

Not really, as I have the same name as a religious leader and I'm quite the atheist (actually I'm more bitter that I'll never top the Google list).

I think its weird when people say they hate a name or their name. I mean, unless its some weird celebrity like name, I don't know why you would hate it. It is just a name.

Sean.

Meh, I don't hate it, but I wouldn't say I like it either. It was annoying as hell when I was young and kids, knowing full well how it was pronounced, would call me 'seen' because it was just so hilarious.

I kinda like it ... but I have one small niptick with it =P

Also, if we are talking full names ... then I guess I would say I would take out every single possible mention to my biological father if I had the oportunity

I used to wish I had a "cooler" name when I was younger, but I feel I've grown into my name and it suits me now. It's common-ish so no one really struggles with it. Though it certainly made growing up as a tomboy interesting when I was younger since my name is also considered gender-neutral. My last name is what gets all the attention though since it's rather unique and different. And, since middlename is much more feminine and exotic my name as a whole has an interesting cadence to it that I've grown fond of over time.

In short: Yes. I like my name now.

Robert.

It's fine, though everyone I know calls me other stuff. Unfortunately, people I don't know usually try to go the Bob route, and I'm not a huge fan!

My first name is annoyingly common, and my last name sounds too fancy for my personality. I'm okay with it, though.

Well, my stupid home country requires its citizens to have Islamic (Arabic or Persian) names, even if they're not muslims, which I'm not. Until my 18th birthday I had to live with a Islamic name along with my real Greek name: Israfil (means Rafael in Arabic, my great grampa's name) and Stefan (Steven to Americans).

Since I got rid off my useless Islamic second name I've been happier than ever. Stefan is such an awesome name.

At first I really hated it. My name is 'Willem' very Dutch name, which I inherited from my father and grandfather. It's been a tradition in my family to name the first son's Willem. But since I don't live in the Netherlands, for the longest time, people always had a hard time getting it right...they'd mispronounce it as William, so I always insisted people just call me Will.

Eventually I found out that I have a very, very old name. We came across an old geneology tree for my family and it turns out, the oldest recorded person in my family to have my name dates back to the 1600's, which makes me the 11th person on record in my family to carry this name.

Now I'm quite proud of it.

Yup, although rarely am I called by my first name, Zach. My full name created the awesome nickname I had all throughout high school, Zoll but my college friends refer to me by my last name mostly.
