Depends on what you mean by that statement? If you mean difficulty then you will be disapointed. AC has always been very difficult. IMO more difficult than any souls game.

Its hard to see exactly whats going on due to the big watermark and compression artifacts but you can get a sense for what they are going for. Nice huge boss battles, and varied sci fi landscapes. Can't wait to see what FromSoft does with it with 10 years of experience in level, boss and gameplay design from their Souls games.
Now, are people seriously shiting on the game already based on this shitty screenshots? No wonder devs hate leaks.

It has been like 10 years since their last Armored Core and I doubt they'll just replicate the old 65% metascore formula 1:1.
Not to mention the director seems to have joined FROM during their Souls era (has credits from Dark Souls onwards) so he might also bring a fresh perspective

Anything Fromsoftware puts out at this point is an insta-buy regardless so im excited to see what they do with it. I wonder if this can become an actual second pillar franchise for them

Thats a bit more saturated in tone...I even get evangelion vibes from it which wouldn't surprise me given from soft taking inspiration from other japanese auteurs.

They're using the Killzone 2 and 3 method of having all of the surrounding lighting itself color the metallic environments and set the mood. I thought it worked well with those games.

I can understand why it's not for everyone though.

They had a frikken farm.
Most of the world we got to witness was actually pretty sweet beyond the wars and all.
Space was actually fucked up for once in a Gundam series.

The power of massive sales and fame. If you were in charge of a dev team that just made you so many sale numbers to the point where it might be your new biggest franchise, you would give them the greenlight on anything they asked for, including a 10 year old obscure IP. To be fair to Bandai Namco, considering this is coming out next year and these leaked screenshots have been doing the rounds since January, this game was definitely approved way before they knew just how big of a success Elden Ring was going to be.

But then again it's also worth keeping in mind that even before Elden Ring FROM was already a way different and more prestigious studio than when they launched their previous Armored Core. Dark Souls 3 sales might not have been as crazy as those of Elden Ring but it's still a 10+ million seller.
