ARMS Global Testpunch Thread: Let's see if this has LEGS

Wow getting real sick if infinite grabara and then matches where some kind of lag happens and not a single punch connects. Not cool at all

The throw meta is getting a little over the top. I've had ninjaras just not throw punches until they have a chance to counter. Had two timeout draws in a row.

Yeah, most of my matches have just been jumping around each other waiting for the other player to slipup so you can grab them.

I'm seeing some people playing Twintelle? Are those devs, because I don't see the newer characters on my character select screen.

Wanna say that the online has been amazingly smooth and responsive, feels good!

I've also officially given up on motion controls, it's just still not responsive enough and trying to move around and punch seems not intuitive overall. Pro Controller is the realness.

I want to give non-motion controls a shot, but I don't want to waste Testpunch getting adjusted to a new control scheme. But this is great to hear so many people like them!
Yeah, the motion controls were hard for me the first test but afterwards I found myself liking them a lot too. They did a pretty good job with all of the input methods.

Finally started to click with me this time around. Too bad I keep getting constant disconnects now. Tried resetting my Switch a few times but it hasn't helped.

I missed the other beta days and just got on, holy shit is this game addictive. Feels like its gonna be Splatoon 2.0.

Loving Ribbon Girl and Min Min

Arms is another example of the Nintendo Charm, i was on the fence about the game and now actually playing it, the thing i will chalk up to the Nintendo charm is that something about it, looking forward to the final game.

Honestly my only real issue is ARM selection with the characters I want to play. My main is for sure MinMin but 2 of the 3 ARMs I hate while I like what Mechanica has pre selected waaaaay more. I just win more because Mechanica's loadout.

I haven't played the previous testfires, but I now had maybe half a dozen matches, but then I lost internet connection. My mobile network wouldn't be good enough to play online so I guess I have to call it quits until I get my main connection back.

Thoughts so far: Seems alright, but I'm not really feeling it the same way I felt Splatoon after the first global test fire. Only had a chance to try joy-cons, unfortunately. Everything felt very responsive, but I still kinda wish I had just a bit more control and faster movement.

So far I don't see myself buying the game, but I'll still give the other test punches a shot, or a punch, if I get the chance.

Not loving the 1v1v1 mode. Seems like every match is someone getting ganked by the other 2, especially if you get stuck in the middle and they won't let you dash out

The 2v2 tethered match is awesome though

I like volleyball, but I feel like if all the players know what they're doing in that mode and can keep the ball up, the game just decides someone needs to lose and then it just falls. You can see it coming, but you can't do much to stop it.

Me and this JP Spring Man player right now, after several rematches of figuring each other out.

To those of you with bad connections, are you using wifi?
I bought a LAN adapter and play through an Ethernet cable and have not seen even a second of lag in 4 test punches.
I recommend it if you are having problems

What super annoying, is in 1v1v1 or 1v1v1v1 when its super clear one person is just sitting back waiting for an easy victory, and you try and go after that person, your opponent is like OH NO!!! YOU LET HIM GET THAT EASY WIN!!!

Like hey dumb ass, we are half way and he is at full health, lets attack him.

NO I WANT HIM TO WIN!!!

Scale grab damage down to to ~45 or make a missed grab/parried grab way more punishable. I had a Ninjara spam grab and when I got close and punched his grab away he immediately got another grab out.

P.S.
Ribbon girl is the best.
Master Mummy is a great second.

I went into this game thinking this would be a dumb horrible game. But, it's really grown on me and I might be a day one purchaser. There's surprisingly a lot of strategy involved. Is this game going to have a single player? I literally had written this game off and never looked into it. Glad I was able to play this weekend...
