The grabbing really hurts the fun of the game for me. It's tolerable in 1v1 but past that it feels cheap.
I just realized how it fucks with two people at once in a 2v2. So evil lol

I went into this game thinking this would be a dumb horrible game. But, it's really grown on me and I might be a day one purchaser. There's surprisingly a lot of strategy involved. Is this game going to have a single player? I literally had written this game off and never looked into it. Glad I was able to play this weekend...
I almost wish there were no grabs in this game. When it goes wrong it just devolves into grab after grab after grab.
You're just learning. This is easily countered and punished.
There's a grand prix mode for 1-2 players that's 10 fights with varying modes ending in a boss fight. Beyond that, there's offline versus with a ton of modes.

There's 7 difficulty modes to Grandprix so hopefully it ramps up sufficiently in difficult at it's highest levels so that feels like a worthwhil challenge.
I went back to Master Mummy for the final test now that I kinda have a feel for the controls and the way the game works. LOVE HIM. The wrecking ball + phoenix worked well for me. Phoenix is great for a quick diversion/jab to setup the wrecking ball (or vice versa). It's also good at catching people that dodge a lot. Plus it hits hard when charged (120).
Also Mummy in 1v1v1 is good stuff. Just turtle and harass till one person goes down, and you likely have a massive life lead over them.
I would not be sad to see 1v1v1 or 1v1v1v1 go away
Yeah, the games just ultimately dwiddle down to 'who can land the most throw'. It's hard to juggle when both enemies in a 2v2 are grapple spamming.
Not always. Usually its fine. But today there is some bizarre lag and multiple ninjaras especially have got on infinite grab streaks
Lmao that was probably me. I played like 3 1v1v1s in a row and that's all I did. That is so infuriating. One guy in my lobby is playing as mummy and that's exactly what he does. Whoever is stuck fighting him in the end is going up against a dude with full health
I tried joy cons day one and then realize my joy cons were in fact busted.yeahhhh, third testpunch and I'm done with this game. There's no significant aiming with the arms that's consistent unless my joycons are broken or I fundamentally misunderstand something (yes I'm using the thumbs up grip). For anyone who disagrees, tell me how you consistently can get your right arm to punch left and curve right. It happens every so often but if you try to do it yourself, good luck.
That's fine enough, it can still be a fun game with random arms because theres strategy with bloicking and grabbing (which is all I wind up doing because arms arent reliable). but there's so many problems with hit boxes and internet code that ruin even that fun. So many times getting hit by a b/s punch that I 'jumped' over, but the hit box knicks my toe and I'm fucked and stuck in a combo even though by all accounts I was dodging and outplaying the other person. Twice I face off against a spring man and beat the shit out of him only for his 1/4th health left thing to go off and suddenly I can tget a punch in because his punches knock mine away and are fast so spamming=winning.
More than one person and there's no indicator of who you're targetting, and you can only grab the person you're targetting, otherwise it goes right htrough them (sometimes it does that no matter what, had one match where I 'grabbed' someone over 10 times and nothing happened ever). So if there's 3 people in a line in front of you, you can't reliably grab the poerson in front if you even if it's their back to you becaus ewho knows who you're targeting.
Without being able to reliably target your arms, someone who's just circling around you is practically impossible to target, even if they're predictable in their movements. arms fly straight out and THEN curve, so good luck following a fast person.
I dunno I feel like I must be playing a different game from yall or my joycons are busted. There's definitely some things that are indesputable like forgiving hitboxes for the puncher which makes it feel cheesy for the punchee. But then the main control of punching people say feels good and to me it just feels like a random attack idk.
First time playing the test tonight but I'm not really feeling it, as expected from watching the footage. Good bit of fun but gets old pretty quick for me. I'm not a huge fighting game fan in general though.
Haha, was just saying on the last page that people shouldn't me sleeping on Spring Man. He's got some really nice abilities.Spring man's ability to deflect everything when his charge wears off is underrated

Volleyball is utter ass.
Yeah I've had a few matches like that. The best part is when your health is like that for a good while and you have to make a big comeback.
I love those matches. So much strategy going on. But 2vs2 with that god damn rope tying you? I hate it with a passion!
easy enough, did you try the "warm up" mode in the lobby? Punching with a joycon tilted left or right will make the punch initially go left/right. Tilting the joycon after you throw the punch will curve it left or right.
