ARMS Global Testpunch Thread: Let's see if this has LEGS

Spam grab is a good way to lose, is really easy to deflect a grab when you have a bit of experience, you only need a punch and is really easy to avoid it from a close distance too. For me has been a problem just for the first matches because I was not quick to react, but when you learn buttons (or motion control I guess, but I really prefer use physical controls) spammers are the most easy opponents to beat.

Maybe this is where I'm going wrong then, I was finding them difficult to avoid.

You could also try jumping and launching a counter grab too. Funnily enough, I can avoid grabs easy but punishing after is something I have to work on since I'm not that great at reading movement yet. And I tend to get near misses when counter punching

Yeah, in general with fighting games one of my bad habits is relying on grab too much, and it's especially easily punishable here

I'm not good enough with the motion controls to maneuver effectively. But I don't really have much interest in playing ARMS with the Pro Controller. I'm not sure where I'll end up with ARMS.

It's way too hot here to be using the motion controls. I know you don't need crazy exaggerated movements but I can't help myself from flailing like a madman when shit gets intense.

Try the pro controller, you'll be surprised. Playing with it became second nature for me within about 10 minutes.

Oh, i know how to use it. I just like swinging around like an idiot more. But it's night, so maybe I don't want to be hanging around in the lounge room...

Alright, Nintendo got me again. Couldn't resist, need a physical copy of the game. I've preordered ARMS for 51 Euro incl. shipping from 365games. If you live in the UK you get it even cheaper as you don't pay shipping...

I guess I'll be playing the game on launch day, they shipped me P5 a day early too :)

Now... if only splatoon wouldn't be 60 Euro, maybe there's gonna be another deal in the future.

Erm, 365 games have splatoon 2 for only £1 more than they charge for arms...

Our house was 80 Fahrenheit last night when I was playing. I was downright sweating at the end because I have the same flailing problem, lol!

Can someone help me figure out the point of Min Min's kick? I can never seem to get close enough to the opponent to actually connect her foot to their face.

there's literally no point going super if you're not going to ORAORAORAORA

This is me every time I pop a super.

Knock enemy arms out the way. Kick that giant bomb towards your enemy.

I want to buy multiplayer games digital so I don't need to switch cartridges. But the Arms boxart is just exquisite, maybe my favorite boxart ever. So I may get it retail just for that, even though I'll dump it in a cupboard when I put the cartridge in my carrying case, and never look at it again.

Guys... the next Testpunch is in ARMS reach!!!

Damn... you're right and I'm an idiot, their pound/euro system screwed me up there(you have to change the currency calc there every time you visit for some reason), thought that was the pound price but I set it to Euro already.

At this point you know how the game is, you either like the game or you don't. I personally would only get this as an exercise game and would but it at a cheaper price so I'm good/

Testfire was fun though, I tried about an hour of it.

This session has been a lot more stable for me than yesterday. I'm sold on the game now and I love playing it in portable mode.

(also, Ribbon Girl is my jam)

I am sort of disappointed that the Pro Controller works better than the motion controls as it's really fun with motion... wish motion was mandatory so it was an even playing field.

2nd day of testing for me, big c ontrast to the first where I was just flailing around. Now got the two right armys for my ribbon girl and am smacking people left and right. Non-motion controls the way to go for me as the game is quick and potentially chaotic enough without it.

Great feeling of satisfaction when you start to move around in a coordinated, measured way and seeing the results.

In a 1v1v1 you should get more coins if you defeat one person, but don't win the round. Gives you incentive to get involved.

Yeah I found it weird that it just seems to deem the result as one person winning and the other two losing with no ranked order, unless I've missed something
