ARMS Global Testpunch Thread: Let's see if this has LEGS

I'm really intrigued by the apparent Testpunch room-balancing, because it implies that Nintendo does have the means built-in to track individual performances and have it affect later matches. Perhaps Party Match lobbies aren't as pure-random as I first thought, which bodes well for general balance in conjunction with the win streak handicap.

It would ease some of the concern that DrDogg has brought up, for instance, of rollong in long handicaps leads to the game placing you into rooms with similarly-tough players later on. If that's true, then the low amount of press playing the game might be a big factor in why those lobbies don't feel very fair or even so far.
 
It's probably sad but I'm drinking coffee to stay awake for the testpunch because this game is all I've thought about this week.

Gonna miss this round 1 again due to work.
Round 2 I will likely miss as either will be
A. Sleeping
or
B. Playing Gundam Versus

Round 3 though... I'll be there!

The update removed the exploit. It didn't work for me today :-(

I'm not so sure about it, I just checked and when I started the game it wanted me to enter the Tutorial again. And we all knew that this exploit would only work with a save file where you have completed the tutorial already.

It could be that they just decided to erase the tutorial completion all together and want all players to run through it again after a week.
 
Really great promotion, I'm glad Nintendo is so confident with this game, and they should be, it's a great game. i'll probably end up getting it even though it lacks single player.

It has Single Player, even though the A.I. looks like you can outplay it eventually with ease once you get the hang of the game, even on level 7. You can actually learn a thing or two from playing against it, as it plays defensive and knows how to block and dodge most of the time.

Has an ARMS discord server already been set up? Do we need one?
I know there's an ARMS channel on the NintendoGAF server but something dedicated would likely be better.

I don't believe we have a dedicated discord server for ARMSGAF yet.
 
Glad to see some new stuff this week, was really hoping that's be the case. I can't believe how excited I am to play this game...completely out of nowhere.
 
Looking forward to round two in an hour and a half.

So for the boss looking dude, do we just randomly encounter it or something?
 
So by necessity the goal for the weekend is going to be learning how to play against Twintelle...I wonder who I'm going to want to use for that task since my most anticipated characters still aren't available. Maybe it'll be a good chance to practice more of Spring Man's shockwave since getting that to activate properly still feels hit-or-miss to me.
 
Got two friends with Switches that didn't even know about the schedule. They said they tried the testpunch but it wasn't working. Nintendo should have plastered the time all over the download in the Eshop.

It should say when the next Test Punch is when it errors out trying to connect.

Probably Mechanica since Twintelle's slow time will extend her(Mechanica) super armor if Twintelle triggers it while Mechanica is mid air. That might actually be a really fun combo for doubles. Also Mechanica has that quickfire arm which should make life "bullet hell like" for Twintelle players.
 
What's the difference between the blue glove that Ninjara has that's without an attribute and the black glove Byte and Barq has that also has no attribute?
 
So when using motion controls I never got a chance to practice curving my punch immediately when it's thrown out, how do you do this so I can jump in and try when the test is up?

You curve your wrists, not your arms, left and right

To be more specific I mean you don't move your entire arm right or left as you punch or after you punch but rather the "cylinder" that makes up your arm/wrist is merely rotated in the direction you want the punch to go
