Lindsay looks pretty good in the poster, but Michael looks weird with the new haircut. Which is weird since he has much different hair in the screenshots we've seen so far of the new series.

I'm thinking he will have his longer hair during moments in the show that are "flashbacks" and the shorter haircut will be present time. I think this will also be the case for Portia's character.

That's what I suspected, but I still don't like it. I do get though that they want to show the time jump and difference between then and now. Still, it's not a good look for him in my opinion. I don't know why I care so much since it shouldn't be indicative of the quality of the show.

I assumed the differences were just that these publicity shots were taken well after the show was actually filmed.

Stolen from Reddit...another ad:

LOL Busters line got me. Everyone else quotes something about Netflix..and then its just Buster and his infamous introduction. Everyone's laughing, and riding, and cornholing except Buster.

Jesus what happened to Bateman? He looks like a 60 year old heroin addict now

He kinda looks like he is going to start cooking meth.

I'm hoping its just that picture, but she looks gaunt and almost unrecognizable. I think the "aging" look is preferable to the eating disorder / plastic surgery look.

She looks like Sally Sitwell. That actress had work done too. So tight in the facial region and the lips have been touched up.

I have to be honest, I'm not really a fan of the "LOL REMEMBER DAT JOKE?" stuff in the ad campaign. I get why they're doing it, it's advertising, but I hope the actual episodes integrate callbacks a little more organically. Like the trick/illusion thing is acknowledged maybe 5 times in the whole series, only when it makes sense--and in the case where Pimp Franklin is talking about Nellie, a very sophisticated double entendre. The show doesn't have catchphrases.

Again, I wouldn't worry. These are just obvious marketing campaigns. For a show that's been off the air for years, of course they are going to try to get those people to watch again by making them remember the good times.

I appreciate the old jokes in the advertising.

I agree. The marketing is obviously banking on nostalgia, and Hurwitz has said on multiple occasions that they deliberately avoided a greatest hits fan pandering angle in the new season.

So I was on YouTube and stumbled across this video that says Buster and Maeby interact with each other only once throughout the series, and it's only in the last episode of season 3.

SOMEONE EITHER CONFIRM OR DENY THIS CUZ MY MIND IS MELTING RIGHT NOW

It wouldn't be surprising, more because Maeby had limited contact with everyone besides George Michael and her parents. She was really underused and her storylines were often completely separate from everyone else's.

I never noticed it, but you're right. Were there any scenes between her and George Sr.?

This is how you advertise a show. I have never seen this much hype for a returning show in my 31 years on this planet. Thank you netflix. Maybe some of the big networks can take a cue from you guys.

Hahaha. So many people will be confused by the ads.
It really only panders to the supporters of the show.

I think it's odd enough to catch the interest of passerbys that they might google and see, "Wow, this show got a lot of rave reviews. I'll have to look up an actual episode."
