A few more tidbits on the rest of this season from TVLine:
Q: Caity Lotz is back on Arrow in Episode 13, “Canaries.” Any idea of what can we expect?

A: Showrunner Marc Guggenheim sums it up as “a really cool episode” in which Lotz appears as (of course) Sara and Peter Stormare (Prison Break) reprises his role as the villain Vertigo, which is a purposeful season-premiere callback. “It’s an episode where a lot of things that we’ve been doing and setting up during the season really sort of come together,” Guggenheim says of the intent to bring things “full circle.” He adds, “It’s not a ‘climactic’ kind of episode, but there’s a feeling of a big payoff by the end of it.”

Q: Will Michael Rowe be returning as Arrow‘s Deadshot this season? –Joanne

A: When I spoke to Marc Guggenheim two weeks ago, there was no word yet on a possible encore for the Suicide Squad’s sharpshooter.

GAF! GAF!

I know now what Arrow needs. The one thing that maybe we did not think of.

Next episode: timeskip!
Let us just say.... 3-6 months passed.
No more Flash crossovers anyway, and every show does timejumps around the midseason anyway. They can catch up relatively by the time finale comes.

That would be a cold opening, a way to give Laurel/Thea some more space to train (say: they know of Oli's death, THEN the timeskip happens.)

Terrible idea. Maybe you could do a time skip after one episode. But immidietely? Without showing the reactions to Oliver's death? I would feel cheated

Do you really need to show the reactions, though? Everyone is sad, brooding, crying and some people are lied to. Done. Skip that crap and show a post-Arrow Starling City, where the rest of the cast struggles to fight the crime. Heck, jump straight to the Atom being hands-on with with some C-tier villain. This season has been slow enough already and they're focusing a bit too much on the unnecessary drama.

Not everyone is going to have the same reaction, though. I doubt Roy will have the same reaction as the rest of the group. Sure, Felicity, Laurel, and Thea will cry. I agree on not needing unnecessary drama, but I'd say this is pretty necessary.

Yes. I need to. I need to see the devastation. I need to see them trying to continue his work and then get completely and utterly trashed, while failing to save people. I need to see the city turn into shithole beforen the remaining vigilantes start to improve. You can't really make this work with timeskip. Because if they're completely and utterly failing after couple months they should all be dead already if they can't learn from their mistakes.

They also gave us some room to breathe and process after Moira died and I can only imagine how lame would that be if they completely skipped that segment. As much as I like the action in the show, I also care about those characters when they're not punching bad people in the face.

We all know it is not his real death.
Only the characters think it to be.

Therefore, spending more than a few minutes on it (and then, timeskip), would be a waste of time. We are all smarter than that.

Sure but it creates the opportunity to explore the other characters more. Their connections and motivations (new ones, ones we weren't aware off). However, maybe I am giving them too much credit for thinking they would explore the characters more. On the other side, Felicity's origins episode was really good in that regard.

Character development isn't waste of time. And from this point of view there never will be a death as imporant as this one.
I won't name how many minutes it needs, because it all depends on how it's done, but it needs to be done before they move on.
Also..if Oliver really won/'t come back for 3 episodes, it makes sense to do time skips inside or between them, instead of right at the beggining, because it's more varied and interesting storytelling wise. It would also give his absence and whole story a lot more epic feeling. You could show both the city and character's state and changes far better then.

I wonder if The Atom will be be the Shrinking Superhero we all know Atom or just an Iron Man knock off...

We'll get The Atom. Oh we will. I wonder how they'll make it seem like that was a logical idea, though. Since his intentions are to be a hero as opposed to being a scientist doing experiments and then becoming a hero.

A few more tidbits on the rest of this season from TVLine:

Seems like
Sara could come back as a hallucination caused by Vertigo. Presumably Laurel gets dosed

He leaned on the "make it smaller" angle. He was either talking about shrinking or bracing Felicity for disappointment.

Terrible idea.

First of all, noone knows Ollie is dead, except for Nyssa, Ra's and that Japanese dude (not being racist, honestly don't remember his name). So someone of the League would have to go over to Starling to tell them. Why would they do that?

I think it will play out like this:
The League is done with Starling City, and they move in to tear it apart in search of Sara's killer. With Ollie nowhere to be found, Roy takes up the Green Hood to protect Starling City. Having nowhere near the skills of Ollie, he gets his ass kicked and Felicity reaches out to Ray to put his ATOM suit in use.
Laurel is still training to become the Canary and Oliver gets his ass dragged to a Lazarus Pit by that Japanese guy, which is conveniently closeby in the rare case Ra's would've gotted his ass handed to him.

Once Oliver has fully recovered from his death, he heads back to Starling with a goatee. Back in the Arrowcave, which Roy has renamed The Quiver, Oliver, Roy, Ray and Laurel team up to face the League. Oliver comes to the inevitable conclusion that it may be wiser to allign himself and his team with the League in order to hunt and kill Malcom Merlyn, instead of doing Merlyn's dirty work.

Credits roll, see you Season 4.

Is Ra's al Ghul supposed to be a Muslim in this? I rewatched the finale (again) and that final prayer he gave to Oliver was basically an Islamic one with some words switched around.

Ras' roots are Islamic, but as far as know he's above religious beliefs. I'd be bummed if they made him Muslim for any other than some cultural background.

He for sure has some influence from muslim culture (given his probable upcoming), but I don't think that he is religious. Not an expert in islam, but I think he is going against a lot of its teachings.

Pretty much. Although Dig and Felicity do ok with what they are given.
I don't know. I just don't buy that Felicity is a "nerd". Diggle is doing great though. Then again, he has one of the easier roles, since he is the normal guy within a bunch of weirdos. We have yet to see how good he is, once he has some super hero identity and that cheesy stuff that goes along with it.

Felicity do ok with what they are given.

No she doesn't.
I don't buy that she's a nerd and she's unbearable to watch when she has a scene that's emotional. She's been the same since season 1 when we met her except now they're trying to force this stupid love triangle thing with Oliver with whom she has no chemistry with. She's unbelievably overrated.

Remember in season 1 how Ollie had this magic herb that could heal wounds, cure poisons, and the whole shebang? The one Ryu gave him? What happened to that?

Oh god trying to ignore this thread for the most part, still one episode away from finale but I was wondering...

Is the comic book series Arrow Season 2.5 worth checking out? Is it canon as well?

I don't know, I stopped reading after like issue 3. I prefer it to The Flash Season 0 though

It's weird, in the show
Roy says he's never been on a plane before but in the comic he does so I dunno.
