That theory about Episode 9 and then 10-13 seems very possible and oh god how amazing would that be! Totally makes sense for Amell's schedule also! Goddammit guys, I got really excited about Arrow again, let's hope it goes like that! Not too long till crossover episodes either, can't wait to see promos for those!

Haha, they really wanted to get that Arsenal reference hammered in, didn't they? Funny how I had told my sister about who Arsenal is just before we watched the episode.

Diggle was adopted. His real last name is Stewart

I don't understand. Why are there 6 episodes of Arrow and 5 of Flash, yet Flash is the one I should start with first?

I just finished Flash episode 4 and is now gonna watch Arrow episode 4. Then Flash E5, Arrow E5 and then Arrow E6 right after?

Arrow went dark during election week. Because of that, they're not lined up right now. However, Flash will go dark during Thanksgiving week and that will put things back.

Man I just haven't been feeling this season for some reason, its all just felt so, bland... loved first two seasons but so far been pretty bored this whole time with 3.

There is direction, a grand plot missing. We have the thing with Sara's death, but our protagonist only idle until something comes by itself.

well the flashbacks are snooze-worthy, the action hasn't been as good as previous seasons (especially 1) and the main plot of who killed sara isn't that hot either. i feel like the a-team is focusing their efforts more on flash right now.

hopefully this show gets back into the groove soon.

oh god

I keep watching Arrow and Thea keeps getting fucking WORSE EVEN

they are trying to put her UNDER the jail, and dis bitch is like "fuck your help, mom is a cheater, lock me up!"

WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH YOU WRAPPING YOUR CAR AROUND A TELEPHONE POLE

I was like you once when I was marathoning season 1.

They have to let IslandOlli make a trip to Apokalyps next before he travels to Oolong, Themyscira, hell, New York City and Gotham until he finally returns to the island.

What was the general consensus on the latest ep? The show is really losing me lately. I thought this episode was the snooziest yet and I'm mostly hanging in for the impending
crossover with The Flash
at this point.

the last episode wasnt even boring. its the same thing with american horror story its starting to get good and people are like "THIS SUCKS IM OUT".

I don't think the season has been bad so far. It certainly could use some more focus, but I see the pieces falling into place.

We haven't gotten to the levels of the first half of season one, when almost everything seemed pointless. That's when I'd start to worry.

Just finished Episode 4 and I still really like it. I really like the characters of Malcolm and Nyssa. But hopefully Roy will leave soon, I can't stand the lad sorry.

I love the Hong Kong setting still but Amanda furiates me. Also, an loved seeing Felicity in Central City but I hope there's actual plot overlapping between the 2 shows soon.

Besides all of this. I need more plot points than Sara's death but we'll get them eventually.

The season is solid so far to me. Without being super strong.

It's subjective. I dunno. I was bored by it. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I see what you mean, but first half of season one I felt like the pieces were being set up as you normally see in a semi-procedural like this, so I was more willing to go with it. I haven't felt like there's as compelling of a season-long plot here and the flashbacks haven't been doing anything for me (and I really felt like they never held a lot of interest for me, esp. as a weekly staple). I did like the Felicity ep last week, though.

I think this season is gonna take more time to warm up to like It did for the first season. I always feel like some shows Season 2 are their Highest Points.

I hope so. I don't want to give up on the show, I feel like I've invested a lot of time into it and that it's had some good high points.

well i mean we are in the 6th or 7th episode of 23 its too early to throw out everything out on the table like people want. out of last season, not including flashbacks, slade was in like... 5 episodes?

I think it's just real sloppy and kinda without direction right now. Felicity's new boss, Laurel getting too much focus when so many hate her character. The Hong Kong plot has not been interesting at all unlike the Island stuff in previous seasons.

The action direction has been real weak, the choreography is a mess when in previous seasons the show had some ace fight sequences. Roy can't stop flipping and looking dumb.

Also again it just feels sloppy, this seasons we constantly see the Arrow magically get to destinations instantly. Like this weeks episode, he was in normal clothing in the lair, the find out where the call is coming from, and the show shifts to the next scene and hes already there dressed and on his bike. Everyone seems to be teleporting now in this show. It all feels lazy.

Previous seasons the first few eps were all interesting and kept me wanting more. This season has been a chore so far.

It's strange, I've been enjoying this season for a different reason.

Maybe because I liked the first two seasons and development, I'm enjoying their focus on the characters more than the action so far this season.

Yeah the search for Sara's killer is a lot less fun than the list or the Brother Blood first arc, but has given us some really solid character interactions and action.

The only thing really bugging me is the Hong Kong flashbacks are not good.
I had to laugh when he spent however many days training his memory recall skills that culminated in "I remember! He ditched it somewhere in the 20 yards we chased him! Let's go look... YUP! Found it!"

Beyond that I'm ok with it.

There is no "A-Team" or "B-Team", aside from show runners/producers the primary show writers of Flash didn't work on Arrow before.

Arrow went dark during election week. Because of that, they're not lined up right now. However, Flash will go dark during Thanksgiving week and that will put things back.

Ya got that backwards.

I hear the writers of Arrow and Flash are heading up the Supergirl show for another channel? Is it possible it can cross over with CW's universe or is that a total no go?

Do CW have plans for any more spin-offs for Arrow and Flash?

well the flashbacks are snooze-worthy,

The flashbacks are weak for the same reason the first half of season 1 was weak and the flashbacks went down hill after Slade's heel-turn: Oliver doesn't have any good supporting characters to play off of. Katana and Mr. Katana are incredibly bland.

Flash succeeds because they got a strong supporting cast in place in the first episode.

Supergirl probably won't. There's some rumblings that the TNT Titans series in development might.

Yeah, I did...but in 20 posts, noone noticed. And I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for you meddling kid!!

I was looking for a Scooby-doo GIF with Scooby saying what he'd say at the end of most episodes as a reply but alas I couldn't find one and I'm too tired to do it myself.

It's absolutely possible. Stephen Amell mentioned it actually!

I like Laurel. :)

Also, really liking this season so far. Little slow so far, but I can start to see where it's going, esp with those previews/hints/rumors of what is coming.

Laurel isn't great but she isn't the worst thing ever. Honestly her arc this season has been fine and is currently the season's strongest character arc.

Well, I've FINALLY caught up on Arrow. Watched Guilty last night. Died at boxing glove arrow and Roy flip.

I actually watched the 1st episode when it first aired, but my DVR cut off the ending and it didn't really catch me back then. Tried again a few months ago on Netflix, and was totally hooked. Took my time going through it, though.

I recognize this show has plenty of flaws, but it's just so damn fun, occasionally hits me in the feels, and I love (most of) the characters. That's always been what I most look for in a TV-show. I often don't watch the highly-rated shows like Sopranos and the Wire, but mostly watch what is probably escapist fun.

Arrow is my favorite show since Chuck (which I also loved), so can't wait to see where this shows takes us! I've been reading these threads while I've been going through the show, so will be fun to take part in the thread as it goes along :-)

Definitely don't think Flash has anywhere been close to Arrow quality yet, regardless of which season you're talking about. It's getting better for sure, but the villain roles are all incredibly bad so far and the blatant fanservicing and end-of-episode teasing are getting a little out of hand.

Yup. It's fun for what it is, and I really like Grant Gustin, but don't think it's been near Arrow quality yet. Then again, Arrow is in its 3rd season and Flash in its 1st, but is feels like both shows are working at setting up for something more involved down the line, so neither show is going full-tilt right now.

Which is fine. Supernatural often works much in the same way, and it (mostly) worked there for years. What's important is not screwing up characterization along the way, and making sure the stakes get higher over the course of the 2nd half of the season - and obviously needs a worthwhile climax as well. We'll see next spring where the shows are at then, and whether or not they evolved the way they should've.
