Sara as Canary did indeed use a sonic device during Season 2

yeah...which I liked...I just want Laurel to get it, and use it more...or in a more iconic manner (if that makes sense).

Just watched the Arrow After Show for this week...really feels like DCTV got put off by DC's Cinematic division with the movie announcements.

so i'm not going to read most of the thread because I just started watching this show from the very beginning, still in season 1

can I ask one question, though?

Does Thea ever stop being the fucking worst?

season 2.

she doesn't get better. laurel just gets worse

I like this Roy flip, he keeps getting up and Roy just keeps flipping him down :D.

Last episode aside, the season so far has been decent. They just need to ramp up the flashbacks. They're pretty uninteresting and it doesn't really seem like it's leading to anything.

Hopefully they'll become more relevant when
Katana shows up in the present day. It's pretty obvious that's going to happen, right?

Ohmygosh Birds of Prey with Felicity as Oracle Ersatz

Definitely don't think Flash has anywhere been close to Arrow quality yet, regardless of which season you're talking about. It's getting better for sure, but the villain roles are all incredibly bad so far and the blatant fanservicing and end-of-episode teasing are getting a little out of hand.

Compared to Flash it's been meh. But for Arrow it's been great.

Are you kidding me?

Flash has been mostly Flash (love the effects) but the story and dialogue has been relatively weak and awkward

Flash has Style and Arrow has substance

Both suffer a bit with the logic breaks but Flash is worse naturally since they have less material to ground these wild characters with powers

Wow people are complaining about the season. I think it's been great so far. I think some of you guys are just waiting for the big major season long plot point to show instead of enjoying the episodes.

No the problem is that this season is lower in quality compared to season 1 and 2.

The dialogue has become more campy for the villains and the good guys are given cringe worthy lines that would fit better in poorly dubbed anime.

The fight choreography has taken a serious nose dive. The only fights that look as favorable as Season 1 and 2 are Diggle fighting that rogue Argus agent, the 3 way between the archers and Thea training under her father. In addition the tone of the fighting has changed with more slapstick moments like the arrow going through the bazooka or

No matter how weak the episodes were in Season 1 and 2 the flashbacks almost always redeemed that weak point. The flashback in Season 3 is the worst or 2nd worst sequence of events on this show. It's actually mind boggling how much they are botching that but it would take too much to explain every single thing they should be doing right.

As someone mentioned earlier it does feel like that they put a B team in charge of writing and producing Arrow while the original A team focuses more on Flash.

Sin killed Sara, clearly.

Speaking of which, where the hell is she? Honestly that would be surprising if she was the killer but it makes sense so far.

I've been trying to get into flash but that character is so boring. Has to be the worst power ever. Does he ever learn karate or sommink?

I'm now finding Laurel more attractive this season...

Hmm...

She's cut and sexy as hell this season.

The plot direction in this season is ridiculous. Instead of something from Ollis past or his mission, we are in slice of lice mode with the tiny hook of Sara being offed by a archer - which in turn suddenly brought half a dozen killers who use bows randomly into Starling City. Suddenly everyone is an archer.

I know the writers are trying hard to keep everything consistent and at least marginally plausible (and I know its supposed to be looser and more outlandish on purpose) but it just makes the moments where they try to explain things that much more awkward

They would benefit from more subtlety and let the viewers fill in the blanks in certain areas because the whole "Science angle" they try to input makes my brain hurt sometimes

Yeah. I hate most of the forced science explanations a lot of fantasy things have. Just say "it just works that way". Would be easier for everyone.

Agree with people that this season has been weak. But I have to say the strongest episodes have been this weeks, EP4 Magician and then the season premiere. Other episodes have been very much filler and on top of that what I'm feeling is budget cuts probably happened for season 3. Also flashbacks have been veeery bad too.

I'm staying hopeful though, I'm sure at the end of Season 3 I'll be happy. It's just... I miss Slade... Malcom does help to fill that void but he's not on enough!

What I hope from this season: Tommy killing Sarah and Slade coming back, at least in form of Suicide Squad.

Honestly, and it's crazy I'm saying this, but I think there's a severe lack of Thea this season. I'm REALLY curious about her story but they seem hyper-focused on Laurel and I can't say I care about her crusade. I'm buying her "vigilante" thing a bit more because now she's being trained by someone that's done it but I'm still unconvinced the payoff there will be worth a damn.

How close is all of this to the comics? Having pretty much everyone around him deciding to learn kung-fu and fight crime.

i think the main problem with this season is who cares about Sara? none of this build towards whatever we're going to matters and unlike with Slade, there wasn't a build up of Ra's. A few League hints here and there but nothing about him so it's hard to care about him either.

right now nothing matters or is even worth caring about except for Thea, which they aren't even focusing on. She's like the #10th thing on their priority list.

Just get rid of everyone and have a show with Palmer, Thea, Slade and Malcolm. Bring back Momicity for some more guest appearances.

Finally finished Season 2. I'm on to Season 3!

I hope we get to see Ra's al Ghul at some point but it doesn't seem like it.

Actually more excited about The Flash pilot episode, as he were my favorite DC hero when I were a kid.

I like how our flip GIFs are getting progressively larger with each flip. Though it looks like we might be hitting the wall of diminishing returns... >_> <_<

Granted mine would've been bigger but I've been trying to keep GIFs below 10MB. Also needed to lower my monitor brightness. *cough*

He basically says she has a long arc. Which is why I like the character.

Not everyone does a 180 in the season hiatus
and become a ninja badass in a few months.

How many degrees of rotation do you think Roy flipped his way through during the season hiatus?

After we passed 4k, Roy will flip out of our monitors like the girl from the Grudge (or was it the Ring, i dunno anymore)

What did you think of the rest of S2?
I got to admit, as much as the things on the Island got more interesting as the season progressed, I got a little tired of it by the last couple of episodes.

What happened in present day were real good though. I loved were everything were going. Unfortunately I read the spoiler that Moira were gonna die, before I got to see that earlier today.

I just want Malcolm Merlyn to die, but it's pretty interesting seeing Thea going with her dad and leaving everyone else behind. Seeing Roy as the Red Arrow were something. And watching everything in Ollie's life falling apart were hard to watch, especially the whole scene were his mother dies.

At the start of the season I really cheered for Slade to turn up in present day, but I hadn't imagined as the ultimate villain. I loved that they put him underground the Island.

I'm curious about Detective Lance's condition too. And even though Canary were cool, I kind of hope she'll stay out of the picture for a while. One masked hero is fine with me, and as awesome as 3 masked vigilantes are, it can also become overwhelming.

I'm gonna watch the pilot of Season 3 soon, and the pilot of The Flash. Both me and the girl are excited.

So I finally ended my S2 rewatch and caught up to the latest ep!
Some thoughts about S3 thus far:
- Loved that they addressed the fact that the city is in a bad state (people wanting to leave) due to the constant shit that is happening
- Also loved that Ollicity was ended fast
(by a rocket to the face table no less)
- The way they brought Sara back out of nowhere made pretty clear what was gonna happen (and it was going to eventually anyway)
- It's also pretty clear it was someone she knew given the reaction (not necessarily someone *we* know but they are dragging that too much), and it was too obvious it wasn't Roy
- They will be in a world of pain when Detective Captain Chesthair learns about it and that they kept it from him.
- Thea got sexy and awesome, she's totally becoming Cheshire.
- The flashbacks are being terrible this season :( (to be fair there is potential there exploring Ollie's forced work for Waller, but thus far has been very eh)
- Disgraced Superman is killing it, he is so above and beyond everyone else in the acting department it's not even funny
- I'm really liking Laurel this season, although her getting beat up was stupid considering her past actions in the show
- We finally learn why Felicity dresses like she does! (the dress in that Flash episode was fucking hot ridiculous)
- ... please no more Lisbeth Salander ripoffs D:
- Ollie is being quite terrible this season and no one calling him out on it is grating: "I'll tell her everything!" and then proceeds to blatantly lie to Thea's face again and again, not to mention all the bullshit "he murdered someone!" in the last episode.
- To be fair it seemed like *everyone* was out of character last episode, Dig wanting to drop Roy like that was a big WTF
- The glove arrow!! That was amazing, I didn't think they'd do it, ever.
- More things I can't remember at the moment, will post them later.

Now they are all together.

[Waits for next flip to get added.]
I love how they keep getting bigger.

Like 2 times, guess there is not enough budget :P

Flash is currently far better than any of the Arrow's openers, if it keeps up the pace it'll top Arrow for sure.

Flash has Style and Arrow has substance
LOL

Yeah that scene mirroring his decision in the flashback was brutal
Great acting by everyone.

Flash is great just for the fact that it's not trying to be Arrow

LOL

In the Arrow After show posted earlier, they had Mr. Arrow himself as a special guest answering questions and making comments to the pros and cons of the latest episode as well as season 3 in general.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dSWO9Uf_Zs&feature=youtu.be&t=4m14s

The flashback story arc is basically reset with this new setting, so like Season 1 it's going to take awhile to build up, especially with the limited time they have devoted to them per episode. S2 had the benefit of having most of the flashback characters established as well as the story momentum from the season finale.

Laurel's ass kicking wasn't much. She hit a rich dude when his back was to her.
She may know some moves, but it's not like she trains often enough to take on a dude twice her size who actually ready for her.

average Self defense knowledge doesn't = badass vigilante who can take on anyone.

Amell brought up a good point about everyone being out of character in the after show interview.

I can't get home in time to watch the show live so when I see a flip it makes me want to jump on gaf. I noticed the useless flips, but I didn't know it was a thing until I finally found the arrow thread near the start of season 3.
Roy giving us the uselessly awesome Nyssa flip made the thread even more epic.

Watched the pilot of Season 3 and I liked the generally good mood and happy times in it. And the Hong Kong setting in the flashbacks are refreshing. But the enemy and the enhanced vertigo effect really reminded me of Scarecrow.

I have a question though. All of these enemies like Deathstroke, Deadshot, Bronze Tiger, Nyssa Al Ghul etc. aren't they from the Batman universe? Or are they from the Arrow universe or how does that work with DC Comics?

Everything is Batman

Now it's Flash time!

This flip

is my favourite and perhaps always will be because Roy just got nope'd.

But don't Arrow have a villain gallery of his own?

Yeah, unto Flash! Super excited.
He does, and I think they are starting to dip into it. Maybe some of Arrows guys have been the bad guys of the week.
Not so knowledgeable on Arrow comics. :/

Like you I watched Arrow S3 episode 1 before I watched Flash episode 1

But after that I went Flash ep2 to Arrow ep2 and so on.
A certain common thread runs thru the universe around episodes 3 and 4

I think the continuity is:
Arrow episode 3 leads into Flash episode 4 which continues into Arrow episode 4

I'm not going to stop watching it, but this season has been pretty underwhelming. Sucks after the awesome that was S2, but I'm still entertained.

Nice to know about the enemies. Thanks!

So shouldn't I watch Arrow before I watch The Flash every week? Or it's the other way around?

The Flash airs first each week, so once you get to season 3 of arrow, you should first watch the Flash episode before switching to the same-numbered Arrow.
