Trying to imagine the appeal of this trailer to anyone without an iota of Assassin's Creed knowledge. Can't imagine there's much of a draw.

Seems like the sort of premise that totally works in a ~40 hour game but comes off as goofy as hell in a two hour flick. Like most game-to-movie adaptations.

I dunno. Maybe worth a rent in a year or so. Looks pretty bad though.

Basically recut all of the last third of the trailer. After spending way too much time with this now, I really have to say that I'm digging what I'm seeing. Combined with the right music this really gives me the same atmosphere as the games do. Love the production values, love the actors, love the cinematograhpy - really hoping for an entertaining story, too.

The problem with Kanye's music here is that it changes the entire tone of the series. Him babbling about him being a god doesn't fit well. Sure, they're maybe going for the whole "Abstergo playing god" or Fassbender being god, but it gives the wrong impression about the movie. The song should be about history and mystery and dread and adventure and curiosity and science fiction. Kanye's music comes out as arrogant and disdain to the series that has always had great trailers and great music. It gives the idea that Fassbender is going to pop in his Beats by Dre under the hoodie and proclaim that the A in Assassin's Creed stands for America. That and we've had too much of Kanye. That and the sampling/chanting in the song doesn't go well with the trailer at all.

I like the beat. I see what they're going for. But everything else doesn't fit. If they were going for Kanye, instrumental version would've worked.

Great editing, prefer the music choice, because of the tone of the series does not lend to having a Kanye song.

Probably because that's exactly what happened to Desmond in the games.

If anything, this makes more sense than what happened in the games. The arm seems to be simulating what's happening in the past, physically training Fassbender for what will inevitably be a modern day assassin. Desmond just woke up and was a master assassin.
