Assassin's Creed Syndicate Gameplay

The carriage racing made me laugh out loud. It's a carriage with horses, not a friggin' car. Just the way the horses would slam into any random thing and knock out street poles was pretty funny to me.

Kind of feels like playing through a Sherlock Holmes movie which is cool. I enjoyed Unity a lot so I'll play this for sure.

Yep. It's GTA Creed!

Looks terrible. It's like a reskinned AC, but with some Batman gadgets and GTA bits thrown in for good measure.

The grappling hook seems cool (as do the new vehicles likes trains and carriages). That being said, it's the same sh*t they've been doing outside of that.

Both the carriage and the hook are nice additions, I agree. But they only help you to traverse the city a bit different and faster. That doesn't mix up the same old and by now boring formula. The last good thing they added were the ships, sadly they fail to build uppon that. So it is the same for me, this will be the first main AC title I am going to skip.

Also the carriage pursuit reminded me of the AC 2 carriage pursiuts...

Glad to see whistling from cover is back. Gameplay and visuals look nice. I'm already not a huge fan of the plot though. It's a little too clichéd for my tastes, but I'm not sure what else you can do in such a well-worn setting as Victorian England.

That was pretty funny. Though it would get pretty frustrating to the player if the horse was more like a real horse and would fall over in similar chase situations or get spooked and loose control around gun fire.

I hope they keep the customization that was in Unity. I wasn't really feeling the style of his leather jacket. Looked more like an Assassin Pimp.

That was the most flaccid reveal I have ever witnessed. I saw nothing to be inspired on and nothing that makes me wanna learn more.

At least Unity attempted to be interesting, until it shit the bed before launch.

It was the first reveal where they decided to show ACTUAL gameplay. Instead of the same old fluff demo that was created specifically for an event and nothing else.

Color was not one of the reasons that made black flag interesting. Matter of fact the color green is synonymous with annoyance in black flag, since its the area of limited movement and opportunities

Literally the only reason people hold Black Flag to such a standard is because of ships

You can't tell me that this

Doesn't look nicer (color-wise, and on the eyes/more interesting) that this:

I'm still excited for Syndicate, but I love those greens and blues of Black Flag.

Pretty much.

Heck, Revelations had a pretty cool carriage chase thing at the end.

I mean, that's why people vacation in the Caribbean. It looks beautiful. Really hard to top that aesthetic with gritty, industrial stuff.

I keep hearing:
"This is an assassins creed game like never before"

But this looks like the smallest gap between AC games.

It's like Ubisoft don't understand that they need to redesign the whole game and mission structure.

So it's Official, Ubisoft finally killed Assassin's Creed like they did with Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia.

Most boring AC reveal yet. Personally I'm getting out of the series for good unless they start innovating.

Crouching around in "stealth mode" in plain sight of civilians looked odd. I was hoping that after skipping Unity, this could be more exciting, but it wasn't really.

This looks really ugly and bland, the gameplay is just old.

Oh and i have never understood the hype for the Victorian London setting. But that's just a personal taste.

Though to be fair from the small glimpse it looks like combat might actually be a bit less horrid. Everything else including the animation looks questionable, and be serious this ain't pre-alpha.

Game looks janky as fuck! The setting is cool and all, but honestly they need to spend more time developing rather than just shitting these out each year.

I asked the creative director and it's a single-player only game. So that, at least, is a step in the right direction. Also, not the same team from Unity, so probably no forced social apps content like treasure chests. However, pre-order DLCs have already been confirmed (one mission so far).

First, I appreciate, they showed real gameplay. Good on them.
Second, Grand Theft Trolley looked completely ridiculous. The streets being very wide make the city empty. The gameplay looked mundane (Except the zip line which is pretty cool). I expected an AC in XIXth century London to be quite interesting, but that did nothing for me. Gangs of London isn't exciting. Is AC becoming a brawler?

I feel the Assassin's Creed franchise has jumped the shark.

I congratulate Ubisoft for not bullshitting us and showing the game as it is: repetitive side tasks (liberate x hostages!), repetitive structure (control x districtcs killing the enemies in each!), mediocre combat, and framerate that still has to improve.

I honestly wonder why they didn't make the girl fully playable as the main character. When I read the news about siblings I assumed you would be able to chose who you wanted to play as, and the other would just be along for the inevitable death scene.

Anyway, as I said, I haven't played AC since 2 and I've always been on the lookout for the series to see if there's a good game that merits coming back. There's some interesting stuff in the video but in the end it looks like the same old AC with a different setting. I'll wait for reviews and impressions as usual.

"Our climbing mechanics are simply the bees knees, to accentuate this important strength we'll add a tool that utterly invalidates their existence."

This

My thoughts exactly, its the most honest trailer for AC ever

Posting my reaction from reveal thread:

I was wary of the the setting and time period once the leaks came out last year. This reveal just cemented how dreary and boring this London setting looks. Lacks all the spark and charm of Italy or the Caribbean.

The combat looks better though, I like the gritty brawler style of fighting they've included. Otherwise it simply looks like more bog standard AC+rope dart.

Was pre alpha footage too but the visuals have taken a big hit imo, maybe Ubi can deliver a technically competent game as a result.

Pretty much. This is the ultimate "well it's a new game in a series whose name keeps getting repeated at me, guess I have to buy it" series. It's baffling.
