Atlus reveals new Trauma Team info

Then allow me to seriously allay your serious doubts. The "alien viruses" are seriously absent from Trauma Team.
Seriously.
Hm, I dunno if I like that. The final bosses (New Blood glitches aside) were all really fun.

I could go without facing some multiple times, and definitely without facing Triti ever again, but the complete removal of them is a step backward, I think.

Hey guys, what's going on in-

I'm not sure whether I find it more hilarious or embarrassing that talk about this game basically quadrupled after that screenshot came out.

I'll be in my bunk.

I can't believe I missed this thread when it was posted in December. This game sounds phenomenal! The last thing I need is another game to buy.... I still need to play New Blood, though I was trying to find someone to play it in co-op with.

They're both better than pretty much anything else though.

Wut - the Wii mote is more accurate because it doesn't cause "hiccups". God, don't make me remind you of that fucking UtK2 mission involving scalpeling the gates!

Wii version of the first game is easier (a good thing in this case) and has extras

Wii New Blood has coop. Best ever.

Why is a "diagnostician" and an endoscopist part of a trauma team?

Internal medicine on a trauma team? :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

Atlus should've went with this group:

General surgeon- rip out the bleeding spleen with your hands, perform emergency department thoracotomies!
Neurosurgeon- Burr holes! Intracranial decompression! Ever wanted to cut out a piece of skull?
Orthopedic surgeon- External pin fixation, reduce that open femur fracture, fasciotomies!
Emergency medicine- watch everyone else do the fun stuff! Um, slap some EKG pads on!
Anesthesiologist- intubation, central lines, push some propofol
Radiologist/Interventional- find the fracture, the bleeding, the injury! Embolize it!

Now that be a true trauma team.
Japanese hospitals are different maaaan

In order to play UtK2, I always had to set the DS on a flat surface first. In order to play it well, I had to grab a second stylus. And my hands would always cramp afterwards.

Using the Nunchuk to change between tools is faster and my hands don't cramp afterwards.

new screens (or not, more people need to see this game)

Nice pair (of eyes)

Wow, now those are some ti..tight graphics. Time to pre-fap I mean pre-order.

On a serious note, is Shoji Meguro contributing any music to the game's soundtrack?

Ok, I'm pretty hyped about this but Maria must be the most annoying female character I've ever seen.

"IN YOUR FACE!" *sigh*

Hardly. Thats just standard feisty girl Altus writing.

I thought for first response there would be situations where one needs to choose one patient over another to maximize how many people survive, ie: When one starts CPR, ONE CAN'T STOP, so there are situations in real life, where CPR isn't even started in multi-injury locations, to maximize how many people survive.
There are situations in which not everybody can be saved, these situations exist.

Still, if it does it right, it could be really exciting, like, there are situations that have overlooked injuries because the victim may complain more about one, and mask another. I can see some injuries that may start minor, suddenly becoming more critical, ie: Brain damage is sometimes very difficult to diagnose in disaster scenes.

Well I have a feeling there'll be a bonus score for having "No Patients Lost" or something, so players would aim for that.

ESRB Description

Platform: Wii

Rating: Teen

Content descriptors: Blood, Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Tobacco, Violence

Rating summary:

This is an action-puzzle game in which players perform simulated medical procedures and progress through a point-and-click-style adventure, with the goal of treating a variety of injured patients. Players can engage in surgery, diagnostics, orthopedics, endoscopy, forensics, and emergency response. Patients on operating tables resemble 3D models, somewhat mannequin-like and polygonal—intended as a clinical depiction. Players can reassemble broken bones; use scalpels, sutures, and lasers to cut into patients; run tests and physical exams. Surgery requires players to suction away blood, overlay layers of tissue, repair damaged blood vessels; blood-stained clothing is also depicted.

The still-frame cutscenes narrate doctors' missions and detail how hospital patients received their injuries. These highly-stylized images (graphic-novel art-style) generally involve a camera panning across still-frames and still-motion characters. One sequence shows the aftermath of a mall massacre, where victims can be heard screaming, their bodies lying near small pools of blood; another scene shows a man, infected with a virus, with blood dripping from his eyes and nose—the camera pans out behind the man as quick sprays of blood appear; and a women strapped with explosives threatens to kill people in one dramatic scene.

During the diagnostics portion of the game, players must diagnose patients by using the stethoscope and performing visual inspections. Female patients are asked to explain their symptoms, then lift up their shirts for closer inspection. The scene contains no nudity, but a saxophone can be heard playing in the background as a male doctor makes the following remarks: "Can she really be that thin?," "dayum!," and—after doctor's heart rate increases—"It's only natural . . . I'm a straight male." During the course of the game, characters sometimes use language such as "bullsh*t," "a*shole," and "b*tch." One central character is frequently depicted with a lit cigarette in his mouth.

Wow, it has all that stuff and gets a T rating? That stuff sounds more like M material.

shit (and its variants) and asshole are usually teen words anyway. I'm assuming there isn't that much blood.

The art style probably helps, as does the fact that the object of the game isn't about killing people.

got around to watching Diagnosis video. made me excited. I hope they have some difficult ones that will absolutely stump you (since there is no difficulty level)

also, I thought the high school(?) blonde chick was pretty cute. I really dig the stockings.

Love the games, though Dr Stiles artwork on Wii, UGH skinny stiles -_-

Ah well, now we know just to ignore everything apart from the gameplay

I hated it at first, now I can't see it differently. The UTK2 art is a bit better though, Derek doesn't look nearly as skinny.

The only character for whom who I feel the art change was noticeably worse was Dr. Hoffman. In UTK1 he looked like a spry old man. In Second Opinion and UTK2, he became some emotionless statue with some kind of mutated spike beard.
