ATTP (Angry to the Party) - FF7 Remake Cloud's Character Assassination

Thank god there are other people who have some brain left.
OG Cloud would never do this shit. I hope Part 3 is tanking in Sales and this whole project was a waste of time. 10 years wasted for this shit my god, could have gotten FF17&FF18 in that time!

instead of taking the L and moving on you decide to resurrect your 7 month old thread because..

a random noname youtuber by the name of... Sebbywebz affirms your own dumb opinion?

Way to double down on your insecurities

Yeah, the remake segment definitely was over the top and pandered to weebs...

But I'm sorry, man, it's totally in line with the original character wise.

it's kind of the point of his character actually.

I don't agree with OP but I also don't agree with you. This was not the best part of the 2 games. Yikes. 😬
what did you like the most? the time space ghosts?

I didn't mind the Honey Bee Inn (which was clearly comedy) but I found the relation between Cloud and Sephiroth to be super weird in Rebirth, with all the whispering in the ear and "pick up the materia, Cloud" which felt almost like a Tumblr fanfiction.

It doesn't help that the guy is literally everywhere at once and popping up every 5 minutes in the story.

Funny how the OP specifically talks about "FF7 Remake Cloud" behaving like this and being character assassinated, but dressing up and acting like a woman to infiltrate a brothel is exactly what Cloud does in the OG.

People really need to go and play the OG again to understand how goofy it was. Evidently, lots of people memory-hole these things and think it was or was meant to be some sort of grounded, mature epic.

They made Cloud a lot more stoic and "cool" after the original game. In the original, he's constantly shrugging and awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck like he's some sort of anime Hank Hill.

In the original, it's true that he does dress as a girl to save Tifa but, he makes it pretty clear, he doesn't enjoy it.

... and what makes you think he's enjoying it in the FF7 Remake? In fact, he repeatedly makes it pretty clear to Aerith that he's not enjoying it.

He's doing what he must to get what he needs.

... and in response to the OP ... without going into spoilers, there's a reason why Cloud doesn't behave like an "elite SOLDIER" should.

Cloud in Rebirth, particularly in the 2nd half of the game is exceptionally well done in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to seeing how far down the insanity rabbit hole they take him in the final game.

People probably played the original when they were 11. You see the world differently at that age.

The guy is an elite SOLDIER. (At least in his head)

I guess the prostitute club was too manly for them. I can't take this character seriously anymore after seeing this shit, good job Square Enix!
It's one thing to dress like a woman to save a friend, but dancing like this... Holy fuck what a pussy this Cloud interpretation is.
Can't believe Sakaguchi approved this garbage.
You must be fun at parties.

Honeybee Inn was a massive downgrade from its orginal iteration, not that I agree with all points, but hated the dancing bits and wasn't a fan at all of Andrea as a charachter. Wall Market was a mixed bag in general, liked some of the changes, disliked others.

What they did to the Shinra Tower sequence was a 1000x worse though. What it lost in atmosphere I may hate more than the whispers.

Cloud doesn't really have a particular personality in the first one to start.
You might not like the goofy side of the scene (fair enough) but it's not character assassination at all IMO.

I'd be more offended about the way they handled human trafficking though.

These remakes are quite literally best in class and excellent.

How this is the hill you wanted to die in came in to being, is beyond me. It's barely part of the game and is honey bee inn is part of the original. Just because he danced doesn't make it shitty.
