So many people instantly judging the cop. Honestly, if you're not a cop, you have no idea the amount of stress that comes with the job. Your life is constantly threatened, even in what could seem like a simple interaction with the public. The situation here might look one way in this film, but you really don't get the true understanding of how the cop was really in fear for his own safety, and the safety of others around them.

"It's all on tape, sweatheart."

What? You assaulting an innocent man and abusing your authority? Yes, yes it was all on tape.

So what gave him the balls to say that after what took place on that video? The fact that he knows that he will be protected despite his wrong doing, that's what.

They generally neither know nor understand laws. They operate under what rules they think exist to allow them to do what they believe is their "job."

This is pretty pretty good.

You are so ignorant, really. There's lots of officers that hold themselves to a higher standard and don't engage in this sort of pathetic lowlife lawbreaking against regular citizens.

YOU don't get that there's some police that just aren't mentally or emotionally capable of handling these situation

This is satire, guys. I think posts like it are problematic, because not everyone recognizes it as such and it derails the thread. It doesn't help that the poster has recently changed their username and avatar. I'm assuming AMUSIX is the poster whose name was something "...isamusixwhore" and her avatar was a black woman (I'm also assuming that was her). It was easier to spot if you recognized her posting history. My apologies if I'm misidentifying someone.

#nocopsequences

It's a damn shame, even with all the media attention, and the #BLM activities, some cops still can't even pretend to not be prejudicial and racist till it all dies down. Just keep fueling those fires, keep justifying the cause..

Statistically a police officer's life is less threatened than an average Truck Driver, with car accidents also being the most worrisome part of a police officer's job.

But I don't deny that cops definitely act as if the whole world was looking to kill them.

This will continue to happen til officers are penalized much harder. I can understand the issue with not wanting a cop to be hesitant when forced in a deadly situation

But these situations cops deserve to be fired or replaced in non patrol like positions.

I'd say they all need courses and time in community services as standard, weekly until they care more about the understanding of life.

Psychological classes would be good and help understand why they think and do what they do.

If one can't see thier own issue then you definitely won't have change

Unbelievable. Guess they should have been wearing safety colors like that one dope said once. Can't be black within 10 miles of a crime without being fucked with, apparently..I know the feeling well.

10/10..Sadly accurate.

My response to those comments is always "why are police the only government agency that gets to avoid accountability for their actions?", but then I get the same reasoning as above.

You should have ended it with sweetheart. Because then the joke would be more obvious.

So after all that, what is going to happen to those cops? Nothing, again?? No sueing? No charge? Zero??

Cops thought right. Video and every witness in the world are jack shit nothing. No justice what so ever.

This isn't even remotely true. Policing doesn't even crack the top 10 in most dangerous jobs.

edit: goddamn, sarcasm detector broken

I'm pretty sure he wasn't joking.

I could be angry with the cop, but you know what, I'm more angry that he knew not a damn thing was going to happen to him. I'm more angry at Police chiefs and commissioners not doing a damn thing to change this. I'm more angry that city officials aren't doing shit to change this. That they will actually help this (if the charges weren't dropped) by giving this asshole a "Grand Jury" in court who would just let him go. A judge who wouldn't do a damn thing about it. It's an entire system that needs fixed. We need mayors and city councilmen who are willing to make the change. Police officials who are willing to train officers to realize they are not the law, they only enforce it and will be punished for over stepping their boundaries.

This isn't a satirical post btw

...the officer responded, “Hey, look right here. It’s all on video, sweetheart.”

That's an awfully interesting way to respond when you're constantly in fear for your own safety.

Tasing someone without warning in the head with heir back turned.

Take this fuckers badge.

Police and their Union: Lol, no.

If the cops can get away with murder, that cop is sure as hell going to receive nothing but a "Good job, man. Keep up the great work. Take a vacation while we try to appease the dumb public."

I'm pretty sure he wasn't joking.

It's a celebration of all the classic deflections while almost intentionally avoiding the usual race/ victim blaming points that are brought up. If not a fallacy it was one pratt after the other.

All this feels intentional.
